I'm so excited to be flying into Florida tomorrow...And I'm gonna head for the first Winn Dixie I see on my way to the hotel and hope that they still have my fave Winn Dixie brand unsalted potato chips and the Palmetto Farms pimento cheese...

I worked for Winn Dixie for 10 years before moving to CA a few years ago. When I was home I went there all the time and my mom always shipped me the unsalted chips, I think they are better than any other unsalted chips I've had. Then all the ones in NC had to go and close, so I was left with no stores within driving distance to go too. I'm so excited I hope I can find the chips, some pimento cheese and some livermush to fry up to munch on all week...WooHoo...

We have lots of Winn Dixie's here. I also buy the unsalted chips. They have 0 grams of sodium unlike others who say unsalted but still have sodium. Let me know anytime and I can mail you some.

I know, I sure hated it when a lot of them closed. All of NC, SC, Tennessee and Virginia I think, though I'm not certain about the last two. It was pretty much every store closed that was served out of the Charlotte Division warehouse which was the case with the store where I had been. It was torn down and rebuilt from the ground up as that one Bi-Lo store but forgot the name of it. Its not a Bi-Lo but its their sister store. Oh well, all I know is they aint paying their bills for flowers...LOL

And I agree those unsalted chips are the best and I'd be more than glad to pay you for some anytime you have a few extra bags you'd like to send my way. Maybe I have something here that you'd like and we can do a junk food exchange...LOL

OK, you guys know I usually don't dissent, but:

My brother had his leg amputated in a Winn Dixie warehouse "accident" on his first day on his new job (actually, first TWO HOURS on his new job!!) while working his way through college. It was shoddy training -- they slammed him on a machine without any kind of training at all. We're talking first TWO HOURS on his new job, and they have him working a pallet jack. They trainer had it going too fast, and had DB stop it. He didn't know the right lever to push, and hit reverse by mistake, and the machine jolted backward, pinning him to a concrete pilon. The surgeons reattached his leg and he finally settled with Winn Dixie, but will never be the same. He's OK now (did WDW with EMV last Sept.) but his leg looks like a shark bite. Seriously.

Sorry, but I don't feel the love. I'm just glad my bro settled with WD before they completely self destruct.
