Wanting a specific vehicle brand when renting?

I know this can seem silly, but I really really like my Toyota Matrix. I have never felt so comfortable driving a car. So , I am hoping to rent a Toyota Matrix while at WDW next month. I already have a reservation with Budget.

Does anyone know who carries/rents Toyota vehicles or how I can find out?

Toyotas are not very common in terms of mass rentals outside of maybe the Camry. You may see some in the fleets from time to time, but I wouldn't make a reservation with one company over another just on a hope you get one.

Unfortunately there is not a carrier that has make/model reservable for a Matrix.

Actually Toyota are the fourth most registered brand of rental car in the US (2008 registrations) behind Chevy, Dodge and Ford. Unfortunately, there were slightly less than 2000 Matrix registered in 2008 so the chance of getting one is slim. Inventory by location will vary so you will need to call each location to verify. The most registered Toyota brands are Camry, Corolla, Prius and Yaris.

Hertz does has several specific Toyota models you can reserve at MCO. I have not seen the Matrix to reserve specifically but I have seen a Prius, Camry and Corolla. It is a little more expensive to do this but there are several discounts available. AAA has good discounts for Hertz but if you are not a member you can try http://www.mousesavers.com or http://www.carrentalsavers.com.

Just a note, Hertz at MCO does require a short shuttle ride but it is very easy.

Pontiac Vibe is essentially the same car. Not sure if Alamo or National have them but at least you'd be able to pick from the row instead of being assigned a random car.

Thanks all - I ened up booking a smaller SUV instead through Dollar. I think what I really prefer is sitting up higher off the road. I always find when I rent a sedan, I feel like I am lying down in the car......
