Please give me your reviews of the RP luau. I am especially interested in hearing from people who have also done the luau at the Polynesian at WDW (how do they compare? which is better?).

Thanks.

My wife and I did it last November.

The food is very, very good (one of the best meals we had all vacation :thumbsup2).

The show is okay. I wouldn't say it was a 10 out of 10, but I'm not really a fan of sitting around watching people hula dance. :) They get some people from the crowd up on stage and that was kinda funny. They also have a guy who juggles fire which I did think was really cool. The band is pretty talented as well and I enjoyed their music.

But, overall, it was not really my favorite show of the vacation. I think that with all of the other cool stuff going on (rides, shows at US/IoA, other things we were doing on I-Drive), I was just anxious to go do something else besides sit there and watch people dance. Also, I think I was nervous that they were going to try to get me to come up on stage and dance - not really something I wanted to do. :rotfl2:

Looking back on it I am definitely glad that I went, but I don't think I will go next time I visit RPR. :)

I have not been to Polynesian, sorry.

I couldnt' resist posting this...sorry in advance:

Last summer we went to the Luau at RPR , like was said, food was good and plenty of it, same with the drink, but the Mai Tai`s where pretty weak so just drank the beer.As for the show it was a typical luau, hula dancers fire juggling and getting people up on stage ,it was ok but would not go again as i have seen it.
We went to the Poly at disney the year before, food was good as well and plenty of attention from the service staff so drink was flowing. The Disney one was more of a story along the lines of a girl who had left the island and came back, it was ok but would not rush to go back either.
They where 2 completly different shows, and i had read different reports about them , but decided to go and decide for myself. I am glad i did them. Just to say my DD 11 loved both of them, she even went to the RPR one a few nights later with a friend she met as they had it booked and asked if she would like to go
