I am looking for people to share their food experiences at Captain Jacks. We are on the DDP and have a couple of extra TS we don't have ADRS for. Would this place be worth a Table Service or should we try else where?
We love lobster so most of us really enjoyed the twin lobster tails. The side dishes were fine, nothing bad about them at all.
The only thing that colored our experience was our new BFF waitress who spent a LONG time complaining about the 2008 DDP, how she wouldn't get any tips, and how everyone is too cheap to tip 18% on the total amount of the bill there. She couldn't afford to continue working there, etc., etc., etc.
If it hadn't been for her negativity, and tendency to make us feel rushed through our dining experience (in this nearly empty restaurant), we would have thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience.
Went last Sept. loved the twin lobsters and the crab cake app. (which we will have to oop the crab cake app. from now on).We have ADR's for June and want to make ADR's for Sept. Had a window seat over looking the bay and waitress was great. I know there are many bad reviews but not from us.
Been twice, and both times had lobster tails. I LOVE the crab cakes and would go just for those. Both times we had a great waitress and a table overlooking the water. Both times we were seated promptly. I've never felt rushed.
It is alittle older and could use some TLC, new carpet, walls refinished etc. I think it sitting over water, it takes alittle more mositure abuse than most places.
Off CJ topic:
Hopefully we will not get servers next DDP trip who complain about the tip situation. If I do, I probably will be writing down their name, and then sending a suggestion to manager that they speak to this person. I don't mind some conversation but I'm not there to hear your financial complaints, they can save that for management. Bringing that up to me will only hurt your tip, not enhance it.
WOW, Looking at those 2 pictures we may just do Cap't Jack's twice on the bounce back this Sept. and we do have ADR's for June and that is the first day of our trip in June.
Seems good for adults, but am I correct, like choice of 7 adult entrees?
Think they would have perhaps a fried shrimp or something for more "picky finicky teenagers"..Don't think they even have a burger or chicken strips on kids menu?????

We had looked forward to Capt. Jacks on our trip last October despite the limited menu because of the lobster tails and pretty good reviews on the boards.
Unfortunately, the food we had was terrible. The lobster was chewy, the spinach dip appetizer looked like swamp water with store-bought chips, and the penne pasta alfredo with chicken was totally inedible.
The apps and entrees were so bad that I didn't bother with dessert even on DDP. DW had the key lime pie that seemed frozen in the middle.
DW managed to complete her dinner, but I left completely hungry. Considering the quality of the food, I think I made out better on the deal.
