Wanted Nov. 2013 discount...got 2014 pin code

Not sure if this was already posted or not...

I am hoping to go the second week in November - starting on Friday the 8th. I have been getting a bunch of emails from disney destinations the last few months, but none for Oct/Nov, then I get a pin email today for January through April 2014! And not only that, but it must be booked by July 28th and is only the standard-ish 30% off deluxes discount. I was really surprised by this. What is going on disney!

November 8th is the end of "Jersey Week", the last weekend for Food and Wine Festival, and Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend. I wouldn't hold my breath for a fabulous discount. There were November dates with the FD pin, but they excluded Nov 3-10 (-ish). If the rumors are correct, the public FD offer will exclude those dates, also.

I am actually doing the 5k that weekend and I have an AP, so if I get discounts I was assuming they would come from that and FD wouldn't help me anyways.

I was mostly just saying how surprised I was that they were sending out pins all the way to April 2014! It seemed a lot earlier than I remembered in the past

How do you start to get these special offers in your email? I just returned from my Disney trip and am starting to think about 2014 already but I know they haven't released any offers yet for 2014.

There isn't really a rhyme or reason to them, as long as disney has your email address you may receive a PIN discount. Not everyone will receive one, or even the same type. It can be room discounts or free dining or really anything the mouse feels like that day. From what I have heard, ordering the vacation dvd from the website may sort of move you up in the chain or show more interest to get a PIN. PIN's are specific to only the recipient though, so you couldn't let anyone else use it.

That's weird. My bf just got a pin for this winter 2013 grr but thankfully we got a room for the gp code already.
