WANTED- CHEAP Last Minute Booking !

DS and his Girlfriend would like to book a last minute going on 28th August this year

What are their chances of getting something cheap. As students they have not got much to spend but hope to get something around the £400. range or less.

All they want is flights and a room. No car as they are not happy to drive.

Are they being realistic ? and can anyone offer any advice on how to get one of these last minute deals.

Quite possibly - especially in September.

I know a lot of people that have managed to get flight only deals for £100. All of the 'best deals' I know of, have been on Airtours out of Manchester.

I have seen I-drive and Lake Buena Vista hotels on late delas for £200-£250. £400 - is that each?

Watch out for all the 'necessary extras' - sometimes certain taxes are omitted. Often there is a 'ticket on departure' fee. Even the luggage allowance is a lot less.

Didn't say where to find the deals! For the flight only, I know the best deals were obtained by ringing airtours directly. Last minute flight/accommodation - try www.mytravel.com.

Scheduled airline deals are much rarer. Try teletext?

Look on Teletext as I've just seen flights to Sanford for £289 from London on August 27th.

Simon is right - direct holidays had some great deals!!!

My daughter and her friend got a good deal at the Quality Inn Plaza for £464

Probably cheaper if they went from manchester or london?
