Want two FREE Tickets to Universal........

I honestly cannot see this being anything but a time share deal. Otherwise, why would they ask spouse name, income, etc. It's like they are targeting certain income families. I wouldn't be surprised if they required you to take a 2-4 hour time share presentation to get the tickets. Oh well, we will have to see when, and if, they call me. I am single, a student, and do not make very much money (currently unemployed). If they call, I will be very surprised!

Time share scheme...I was just called and the guy was rude who called and there are no free tickets, just an offer to buy a bunch of vacations for $199 a person.

I sent a email to Universal about it.

Very low brow in my opinion but I never expect to get something for nothing.

Funny-I just finished reading this and my phone rang! It was them..saying I had filled out a online form for vacations..I said no..it was for 2 free tickets..he said uhhh that isn't what I have here...I said well I am telling you I didn't fill out a form for a vaction.
His voice them got nice and ugly and he said fine and HUNG up on me-LOL-what ever..scammers :)

Just got the same call this evening from Etour and Travel, I stood firm let him go through the promotion, I told him I had signed up for two free universal tickets, not a promo tour, he told me about it, I told him that those were hotels and we only stay in timeshare exchange units as we are timesharers, he said OK here is your confirmation number and the website to receive the ticket vouchers, went to the website, plugged in confirmation number and got voucher, only problem must be used within one year, not much good to me as won't be going back till Oct 05, Oh well, at least I got a nice guy.

Well it's been a few days and no answer from Universal to my email...I guess the truth hurts...

I also emailed US but didn't hear anything back.
But sometimes it takes a while.
I had emailed disney 2 months ago about grand gatherings-they are supposed to get back to you in 2 days...I never heard back. Okay whatever-I'll plan my own stuff. But then I had to book my disney cosmetology appt..left a voicemail for them and heard nothing back-so after 2 weeks I emailed disney to complain...1 week later still didn't hear back from them..so I emailed one last time..I just heard back from them today...actually I got a call from the manager at magical gatherings, the coordinator for grand gatherings and a email from the cosmetology supervisor...so it took forever to hear something from them but they must have took my concerns seriously as they all tried to contact me on the same day. Hopefully US treats their customers the same way..we'll see.

Spoke to the gentleman that called me offering vacations and I explained we own property in Florida and when not there we are at Disney...on the property and not interested in anyplace else.

He said "So, you really only want the free tickets" and I replied "Yes". He then gave me a confirmation number and a website to go to and I also printed off the voucher for 2 free tickets to be used within one year. I did notice however that in small print it said something about being 'Invited' to a presentation on timeshares while there so I am wondering if that really means I have to attend?

If it works as it appears to...it's a good deal. If I have to listen to a diatribe about timeshares..it isn't!

it seems there are maybe a couple of "vouchers" presented to individuals when they log in to etours website by putting in their PIN and email address

the fine print on some .....they would receive tickets "after attending" a 90 minute timeshare presentation

on others, ( it may be a "canadian thing" ) was they would be "invited" to "schedule a "tour" to explore the value of vacation ownership

supposedly you can pick them up "upon arrival" at Vacation Village at Fantasyworld II which is close to the 535/192 intersection ( on street over )

well, much to the person's chagrin that i met on friday, ( she said i had to take a 90 tour to receive the tickets that were suppost to be free for filling out the "online survey" ), i told her that acording to my voucher we could pick the tickets up "upon arrival" and that nowhere did it say we had to take a 90 minute tour, only that we would be invited to schedule a "tour", and that if i was invited i would decline the invitation

i did notice that she "scrawled" on my internet voucher......."refused to tour"

she sighed, did some magic with her fingers on the computer and a few seconds later i had a "printed voucher" with the Etour logo on it in hand which she said i had to take across the foyer to "redeem" ( the voucher did have an expiry date on it of 07/04/04 )

we did get two Star passes good for two consecutive days at either Universal park ( NOT both ) when we redeemed the "voucher"

not wanting to leave anything to chance and since we were going to universal city walk to have supper at Nascar, we did a side trip to guest relations at Universal

we asked them how long the tickets were valid for, he scanned one and said there were by default ( computer thingy ) good until 2030 and even then if not used by then could be updated to the NEW expiry date when the computer was "rolled"

once they are used, they must be used on two consecutive days

so YES, you get two free tickets but that was not their intention, their real intention was to "have" you tour their timeshare location and perhaps BUY from them before getting the tickets

but in this case the language on the voucher i got at least, left some "wiggle" room ( other's language say they have to attend the presentation before receiving the tickets )

is the promotion devious, YES since the language used is vague on the "survey" just a mention of a thank you for doing the survey being two free tickets...nothing about the necessity for a timeshare tour

even the email language did not mention "timeshare"

best of luck to others on this, but they may change the rules by the time you get there
