Want to go home need help...

DH and I have just decided to go the the MK for December. I called member services and found out my dates are already taken. I have back up reservations at All Star Music, but would like a studio. How does the wait list work?

You can waitlist any or only one of the resorts. You can also waitlist so it goes through day by day, meaning if one day opens you get it and the rest stays on the wait list or you can waitlist so that you only get the reservation is all days open up.

Good luck. Many people have been successful with the wait list but December is tough.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just was placed on the wait list for SSR, OKW and wilderness lodge. My DH and I really want to go so even if we stay at All Star Music it will be a great time.

Why not add BWV and BCV too? The more you waitlist the better your chances.

Definitely try the waitlist! We just got our first choice - VWL - for early December...it really does work!

What are your dates?

A few months ago, there were a lot of posts about people having trouble getting the dates they wanted in December, but there were also a lot of posts indicating that wait lists had come through.
My purchase closed just inside the 7 month window, so I was able to book any DVC resort.
I felt really lucky when I called, and not only were my dates available, my first choice (not my home resort) was available.

It is known, that some people book more then what they need, intending to cancel the extra rooms.
This means that wait listing has a reasonable chance of working.

The problem with waitlisting one day at a time, is that one may end up having to move, and could end up having to move daily.
One might get lucky enough to tie up the days, one at a time, until they all became available as a block. But it all seems tedious to me.

The current date plan is Dec 2nd to Dec 6. We live in Oregon and with the 5 1/2 hr flight and 3 hour time zone we need to arrive on a Thursday and leave on a Monday for a 3 day weekend.
