I havent been able to get to the book online site, I get to the page "this page cannot be displayed" after I type my login and password? :confused3

and I sent the info to a friend on snagajob.com, and that page still shows they want "wine enthusiast" hey, PICK ME!! :rotfl:

ah well... maybe tomorrow!!

Do you really have to wear a hairnet for the walmart food demos? None of the people in the pictures on their website are wearing one.

And walmart is the only store that makes you do this, right?

Yep, we still have ST. Super Target wants all the demos to promote how great they are to guests.......

Did a mini training over the phone with TMT about Tassimo event.
Basically they want us to make sure we are doing our very best, look our best, and do what we are suppose to do every event.. duhhhhhhhhhh, stuff I do anyway. She was nice enough about it and did tell me that she knows I do a good job. Nearly all my events have been at ST.

This particular Tasimo event at ST is very high profile, she warned me to expect to be audited. The execs may or may not approach the table to observe , they may go as far as taking a pic.

They are looking for the "wow" factor when it comes to sampling events, it's not just introducing a product but presenting ST as a good place to shop.

Other things she told me: swipe in on time, activate card early, talk to guests even while setting up or tearing down "sorry we missed you, this is the product..", uniform as directed, neatly pressed, no eating or drinking, wear all parts of unifrom when out on floor, "fast friendly service" is ST motto.

She even mentioned to "wear your makeup" I ignored that comment as I just don't do makeup.

Specific to Tassimo and setting up in Food Ave.. I pointed out that this is the exit to store. She said that's ok. The purpose of the demo is not to have grab and go type sales but to promote the feeling of how great ST is to shop. She said that most of the Targets had been walked thru to confirm that there is a plug-in near Food Ave.

DH found out that unbooking online is a big NO NO! If you unbook online they take away your ebook ability.
Whoever DH talked to on the phone got upset. During the conversation DH paused and asked me "maybe I should just quit?" since the TMT rep was giving him such a hard time about the unbooking. (I kinda agreed as he doesn't need the job and the stress. He has health issues so I try to keep him low stressed as much as possible to keep his immune system up)

Well the rep with supersonic ears heard the whispered conversation... he was pissed and asked "why are you talking to her!?, she has nothing to do with this!"
DH replied : "because she's my wife and we discuss everything".

At the end of the conversation: DH agreed to drop off the Tassimo boxes to the office in Bloomington , he got his ebooking back becuase he needs to copy off his stuff for Saturday and it's too late for them to mail it, and that his own personal opinions about working for TMT should have no bearing on my right to keep working at a job that I enjoy.

Glad he kept his cool, there have been times that he has hung up when frustrated with the conversation (or worse becomes very VOCAL :furious: ).

Guess I will play it safe and do no more unbookings. And start looking for another job in case they kick me out the door. :rolleyes1

man the TMT seems like a bunch of dicks... I am sorry, getting pissy about time when we are talking about 2-3 mins and now about unbooking...geesh. I am so glad I am with spi!

Wow, who did you talk to at TMT? Also, there are numerous factions within TMT, so it could just be an extra bad one. I unbooked once by accident, but I know someone who has unbooked quite a few times with no problems (I try not to, I know they consider it a no-no).

I only work at the ST (everyone knows that by now!) I already am a fan, so it's easy for me to already talk up the store - and I do it already.

I have another event at another one of their stores the weekend of Christmas... but I really really think I may cancel that one... this is an upscale wine store & they really treated me like crap. Give me an event at Wally World any day over the way this store treated me.

Update.... I sent an email to Taylor telling her the story & asking to confirm whether or not the upcoming Friday 12-4 event was really on because this store said they only have tastings on Saturdays & I really don't want to experience this hassle again. I got an email back apologizing & saying that she would forward the issue to her manager & get back to me ASAP... that was on Tuesday... last night I emailed her again asking for an update.... as of this morning I haven't heard back but according to ebooking the event has been unbooked (by me - which I understand is the way it reports)... I just want to know if the store had issue with me & requested it be unbooked (it's not available on ebooking but that doesn't mean someone else didn't snag it) or if in fact the event was scheduled wrong like last weekends event...

Oh.. and according to ADP they shorted me the $10 training fee for my 12/1 wine event... heaven forbid they get one of my paychecks right!!!

I picked up another wine event at my local ST for 12/29-Three Thieves Wine-4 hours. Yeah! I have 12/29, 12/31 and 2/4-I hope January opens up soon:)

I am going to be doing the Tassimo event tomorrow. This is my first event.

What am I susposed to do first?
a) find the items and check out, then go to the manager
b) find the items, put them in the buggy, and then find manager and purchase them
c) go to manager first, and then find items and buy them

I think i'm susposed to go to the manager first, but what if that makes me late when buying the items?? Am I susposed to have the purchase done before 1:00?

How early should I arrive?

Thanks.

On my first event (and others following) I got there about 15-20 minutes early, bought my items, then I found the manager. One time I had to wait a while for one to help me. He was occupied with a complaining customer:)

bummer sad day for me...
Showed up early, bought my water to use for the Keurig, looked in the aisle to see if I could find a plug in and realized they didn't have any Keurigs instock on the shelf.
Went to the demo supply area and casually mentioned to demo lead that there were no machines on shelf, if they could restock it or at least give me a raincheck to give to guests for the special offer that expires today (free $15 gift card with purchase of the Keurig). She thought that was an excellent idea.. first she sent someone to restock-- none left--- then she went to talk to LOD.... LOD didn't want me to demo a product that they do not have instock. She offered Egg Nog for me to do instead.

Another more experienced TMT lady told me I should call TMT and let them know. I agreed and made the call.

Told him that they don't have product "promote the product and tell guests they can purchase it next time they visit" .

Then I told him "the LOD and demo manager don't want me to demo a product that a guest can not purchase today" .

"then you're done, manager refused"

"but they offered for me to do egg nog"

"NO!, go home!"

"ummm, ok, how much do I get paid then?"

He said just a show up fee and I will have to look at my materials.... oh how sad, the demo manager was upset and felt terrible that I was missing a day's pay, told her it wasn't her fault.

Of course DH has the car at his Keurig demo today. Good thing I had my purse and a free bus pass, took the bus home.
At least it is a nice day 44 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 34 degrees and snow (finally).

I left the water in demo supply to use for my Sunday Tassimo event, will need a few more gallons of water to purchase. Wish I could use the creamers from the Keurig box, but if I do get audited they might not like that. :confused3

$28 for me today- blah!

I’ll let one the “veterans” answer your “order” question as my first event is also the Tassimo tomorrow. I’m with TMT and received an email that product HAD to be purchased by 12:45. Here is the text from my email.

“Thank you for working the Tassimo Brewing System event running on Sunday 12/17 from 1pm to 5pm! This is an EXTREMELY high profile event. The program is Must Run on Date, and Must Run on Time. Target has high expectations for this program, and we need to show them what a great job each of you do!

The event is scheduled to execute from 1pm to 5pm. You must make your product purchase, no later than 12:45 PM in order to ensure that you are at your station, and beginning to set up no later than 1pm! It is imperative that you activate your card the morning of your event, no later than 11am!! If cards are not activated by 11am, due to the high volume of events, it could create an overload for the system. Please be sure to activate your card by 11am, and make your product purchase no later than 12:45pm!!!”

Per conversation with TMT, high profile event and they are being very picky about it. Activate card by 11 am. They want us swiped in by 12:45 and set up ready to go as close to 1 pm as possible.

Each time I have done Tassimo it took forever to haul stuff in, find manager, find plug in, buy product and set up. Get there early!

At least with a ST they know to expect you. Regular Target they have no clue and look at your like you have grown an extra head.

Have fun, smile and enjoy the smell of the coffee!

Very strange indeed... another wine event today 12-4.. at 1pm someone from the wine distributor showed up with my kit (I had to use leftovers from previous events!) but he wasn't there to deliver it to me, he was there to DO THE EVENT... he was surprised I was there & said that they didn't think anyone was going to be there ( I booked it 6 weeks ago...) So he tells me they have concerns with MC & starts to tell me that last week someone was 3 hrs late for an event... I interupt him & say "that was me & I wasn't late"... I told him the whole story & he commented that the whole office was abuzz about it... Gee great! Now I'm the topic of conversation amongst all in the liquor industry! I'm a bit miffed though, I really hope that noone in this whole chain of companies (SPI, MC, Distributor, etc) thinks I'm unreliable.. they DID unbook me for next weeks (still haven't heard whether it was cancelled or if I was cancelled!)... one good thing was one of the managers at the store overheard & commented to the guy that I was a consumate professional!

Taylors getting a call from me on Monday... I want to see what's going on & make sure I'm in good standing...

Off to get my Tassimo stuff together....

Morning morning everyone

Big Tassimo day today!! So hope everyone is successful at finding a plug and remember the machine holds 50oz of water ... oh my goodness I think I will laugh if someone ask me that again or how many t-disc can one pitcher of water makes :rotfl: Any way have fun today. This is my last demo until the new year!!

Good luck to everyone today. I'm off to study my Tassimo instructions again. I'll be ready for all the questions :thumbsup2. This will be my first time at this ST since they remodeled I hope a plug is where I need it.

brodle Good luck today. Tassimo is a fun event Once you have everything set up it goes very smoothly. :thumbsup2

Well, my Keurig coffee went well yesterday. Had me at the front door again. Wasn't a crazy shopping day like I was worried it might be! Again used all my samples and stood there for an hour "promoting" the machine. It was a fun job until my samples ran out.
Talked with two other TMT people, neither one of them had any jobs past today. Both of these ladies usually work alot. I told them I had one for 2/4, which surprised them, and then they were upset that they never saw it (of course not, I got it first!!!!). They are both afraid they may not have a job in the future!
So, it's not that I've been too slow to get the jobs posted (like someone hinted at), it's that there AREN'T any jobs here.
Hope the job situation clears up soon.

Back from Tassimo... they had no machines.. if they had I could have sold a half dozen at least...

The department manager said they can't keep them in stock... The demo went fast - I like being constantly busy... the wine events are getting old really fast, just standing there most of the time (yawn).

Only two events booked for January & nothing in February yet... I would think that Jan/Feb would typically be pretty slow, but I'm not discouraged - the forced slowdown can only help me so I don't get burned out.

Back from Tassimo as well.
Had one of the managers I know help me find plug in, closest to Food ave (diagonally across from) is where they plug in wheelchairs.
Personally I think it was a dumb location. Carts at this store are in a spot between the enter/exit doors, many yards away from where I was.
Lost my voice speaking out to people to have some coffee/chocolate/capuccino/etc.. plus saying my speil a couple hundred times.

If I could plug in directly in front of the doors it would make a difference, then I could hit everyone as they enter grocery side.

No Choxie to hand out, demo lead felt that someone likely opened the box and put it out on shelf to sell. :rotfl:

Not sure if I was audited or not. Lots of interested families.. adding to their wish list.... but no buyers.
Had a guest that remembered me from the last Tassimo I did at a different location.

I still don't get why we are to give only 2 ounce samples. I gave larger samples.. full cups at first to entice people to look, then split one cup into three samples, then last 15 minutes back to full cups since I had a lot left.
The Keurig is a 5 hr event and they give out full cups of coffee (100 samples).
Without splitting we would have just enough to cover 4 hours.. more than 100 samples with all the choices this time around.

Hello I am back from my Tassimo event. My ST didn't have any machine either but plenty of T-discs. No choxie so far this is my 3rd Tassimo and none had the choxie. I don't like it when the ship to the store to many places for it to disappear. This event started out slow but picked up at the end. It seems like the Cappucino is a major selling point.
