Heads up - just booked Hamburger Helper Singles at WM 1/6 & Special K at Kmart on 1/13.

Whew... I feel better having a couple booked for the new year!

I just booked some stuff at Walmart!! Oh my I hope that they have not moved away from Super Target. Eventhough money is money, I most certainly love my ST's better!!

Anyone doing the Nuetrogena Mineral Makeup - my kit came today, and I opened the makeup to prep the powder in the brush (with cotton) before going to set up - to familiarize myself with the colors etc...

Well, apparently the name of the color of foundation is on the plastic that you have to remove to open the product!! - Luckily for me I discovered this after only opening two (bronzer and a medium) and they have similiar sounding names. I took a fine point sharpie and wrote the names on the lid, now I should look to see if there is a name hidden anywhere - but I couldnt find my magnifying glass!!

I hate not knowing enough about the product - I like to sound semi -knowledgable!

Boy do I have a busy weekend, I'm doing 3 events. They must be having trouble getting people to sign up for some events. My wine event was rescheduled. :sad1:

Anyone know how to say Keurig? I'm doing the Chocolove on Sunday anyone do this one yet how does it taste? I'm afraid I'll like it and poof no product to demo! :rotfl:

SplshMtn99 I hope your migranes go away. Knock on wood I haven't had a whopper for a while.

I did this last weekend - I went to greenmountaincoffee.com to see the demo video! I think it was called "caring" but without ing - just "ig"

While demo-ing a man who sells this machine to businesses came up and talked about it - the machine is $99 and feels lightweight! I had a problem "prime ing" it - I followed directions, and nothing... and I was getting nervous, I finally after 5 minutes waiting just hit the coffee cup button - finally action!! Then viola, no problems afterwards!!

He said the model he sells you can choose a cup size - this one its just about a 9oz cup of coffee, another man said he liked this over "your competitor" because this one actually got the temperature "hot"!

So the video at www.greenmountaincofee.com shows the deluxe model, but same premise - the people wanted coupons, or a brochure to take with them, I pointed out the cups had the url on it - and gave a couple plain cups to people that wanted them!

The Target I went to didnt have one in their demo area, so they had to give me one off the shelf (they werent happy!) and inside that was more coupons, and offers I told customers about "if they purchased"

oh and the green mountain "K-cups" come to about $.25 each at the target I sold at (I think it was $9.95 for a box of ______ :confused3 I forgot now!! lol) so that helped...

My kit came to another MC demo person who brought it to the store - it had cream, sugar, napkins, stirrers, cups, lids, all of which I left in the box since I saw Keurig was listed to demo another week! (not me!!) It went really fast! I liked doing it, and i hate the smell of coffee - you only have a choice of 2 coffees, a regular and a "bold sumatra" you can see the difference with the colors!!

Have fun!! (I was positioned right where the doors open, and it got cold!)

Well, migraine free today! :thumbsup2 Its a start. So, I decided to re-book the event as an off date for Thurs 12/14.

And I was able to grab the Hamburger Helper at WalMart Supercenter for 1/6/07. Hope the roads aren't slippery because that's my farthest store at almost 1 hr. But I like that store --for a Walmart. ;)

Oddly, no Special K cereal at my Kmart...unless someone else booked it already. :confused3 I see it listed at some other store, but too far.

There is just nothing here at all! Do you have any booked over the holidays? I have not seen any for the weekend before Christmas and new years.

Nothing new here.

kpauley, and others near Columbus, have you seen the one for Whitehall Target on the 17th? Someone must have cancelled.

Off to do Ulta -

Lots for next weekend, but we're going out of town. Then I have booked 22 23rd Wine events in Dec - nothing I could see for January, now I know my competition, its going to be tough - she sized me up but good!!

Yes, it appeared a couple of days ago. I agree, somebody must have cancelled. Too bad that's the day I already have my one and only event, Tassimo. Yesterday there was an event for early January at a KMart in Bryan and it was gone by the time I got here to post it.

I do hope jobs start opening up after the first of the year for this area. I was all gung ho after reading this thread and now it's been two months and only one event in the works.

Don't know whether to be PO'd or relieved.... I had a wine event scheduled today 3-7pm. I have a ton of things to do for the Holidays so I was unmotivated anyway.. but I trudge my butt 45 minutes away to the liquor store. Walk in at 2:50 to find my wine event going on without me (a store employee was doing it).. I looked at them & said I'm here to do 'that' pointing to the table set up... he rudely tells me I'm 3 hrs late & points me to the manager.. So I walk over & I tell her I'm here to do the wine tasting & she says "no youre not, youre 3 hrs late" I tell her I'm scheduled from 3-7 & attempt to show her my store report that reflects the time. She doesn't even want to look at it, only proceeds to lecture me about how they would NEVER have a tasting from 3-7pm that they advertise in all the newspapers about the tastings they have every Saturday from 12-4 blah blah blah... so I say OK what do you want me to do? I was perfectly willing to take over & work my full four hours but she tells me that I can't work past 4pm... By this time every employee in the store was glaring at me like some moron...

So I called the weekend line & left them a message, I swiped out with a .99 lighter (only after pleading with them to let me use debit for less than their $10 minimum purchase rule). Then called in the results using "Manager refused entry" as my not executed reason & added a long note about the time screw up to the store report...

I have another event at another one of their stores the weekend of Christmas... but I really really think I may cancel that one... this is an upscale wine store & they really treated me like crap. Give me an event at Wally World any day over the way this store treated me.

So an 1 1/2hr total drive time was a waste... On the bright side I got some grocery shopping done & am sitting in my cozy PJ's right now instead of standing in some snooty wine shop.

Wow That's a horror - I'm wondering about my wine event the week of Christmas as well! I went to the wine store during a scheduled wine tasting to see how they ran things, introduced myself to the wine manager and said that I was scheduled to do event - the look she gave me!!! I said its still far away and may get rescheduled, and I apologized if I said something in haste! She said not to worry about it - I bought half a dozen wines from the tastings (table wine at $6 a bottle - it was for Thanksgiving!)

Now I wonder how it will go!!

I did Ulta today, the one time I walked around another employee told me my "area" was "over there"... then the manager told me to feel free to walk around, and I mentioned what was said, she just gave a look, then looked at me and told me to make myself at home!!

It was boring!! No one wanted the Neutrogena Minerals (I looked online for reviews, and I dont blame them!) but I happily gave out $1 off coupons!! (and I did end up helping customers - altho every store seems to be saying 'guests' now!!! helping people find "stuff" which was fine by me!!

The Super Target I did my Oops Wine and Archer Farms Cheescake bites at last night was so disorginazed compared to the ST up the road from me. Too bad since it is also close and does not book as fast as the other one. Now I know why. :rotfl2: They have a dirty demo area with things thrown all over the place. No hats, stuff stacked sky high. I got sent to about 5 people before anyone could tell me where stuff was or where they wanted me to set up. I would have just set up without them but I was supposed to QMOS cheesecake bites off the shelf and get 100 coupons for the wine. Well there were 3 boxes of cheesecake bites in the whole store (I needed 6 just to demo) and no one had any idea where the wine coupons were. I still sold a lot of wine but it would have SOLD OUT with the $5 off coupons. I just did another kind of Archer Farms cheesecake with the bites and that went over well too. The other ST is so on top of things she had even ordered more Chocolove bars last week for my event tomorrow. I think I will try to stick to that store.

Forgot to mention - I got my $50 Gift Card today for working the multiple ProPlan events... with 3 dogs, 3 cats & 2 ferrets, that'll go quick!

Patricia - which one is the not-as-nice ST, Kissimmee?

Hunters Creek-store #1790. They were pretty nice there but just all over the place. The customers were nice too. I would probably still work there but try to get my closer ST first.

I did Ulta today too, I also had to show people around or tell them to look for someone in a black apron..... I have never been in that store and didn't know where anything was, I just had to look around and use common sense... Everyone seemed nice... I sold 5 gift packs and about 5 singles. Not too bad......
I think I was audited... Someone came in with sale paper and asked me about 4 questions, told me she would look around but she really wanted the gift pack, she walked around and picked up a couple of small things and then checked out.... could have been a mystery shopper....... anyone know how to tell?????

Did Neutrogena event at Ulta.. manager looked oddly at me when I told her I was there to do a demo "we don't know anything about a demo". Reassured her that was nothing new as most stores do not know to expect me (except ST).

They declined wearing the buttons, not allowed to advertise specific brands on their uniforms.

Hard to compete with Bare Essentials/Bare Minerals product right across from me. Lots of guests asking me to compare the two.. sorry can't help ya, have no clue how they are different (except price), just told them that this was a mineral based product and derm approved. :confused3

Directed many people to ask Ulta empoyees where is X located?, can I use this coupon on X? Do you carry X?

Had to call the office and tell them local Ulta does not take debit cards (came up as declined) must have credit card logo on card. Made sure whoever answered recorded my name and event that I would be purchasing out of pocket for swipe in and out. I have heard of other local TMT people not getting reimbursed when they had a card problem.. one told me "make sure to call before you buy!".

Sold 5 kits and lots of interest in single packets. Gave out almost all of the coupons.
Using a Qtip was not a good idea. Toward the end I let them tap some on their hand or brush on top of hand. Too hard to see what product looked like from a small smear absorbed into the cotton of the Qtip.
Sold more after I let them use brush on hand then I did all day.
I was not "feeling it" today- makeup is not my thing, out of my element. If I was audited I likely blew it :sad2:

Chocolove next, yum! I can do a good demo with chocolate!

I worked the last four days in a row, the last two were soymilk-- just soymilk, nothing else. Those days were boring, but I pretty much sold out both days. Some of the bottles had rebate coupons that you could use to get the soymilk for free, so that helped. The chocolate soymilk isn't bad. Next week I'm doing Tasssimo, my favorite event. I need to e-mail Daniel and ask for a new table. Mine is becoming bent and flimsy.

Well I'm all set to go. I booked my first two events (both are the best of life diet) in January and am looking forward to them. Thanks again for posting this opportunity.
