hey guys, I just got my first kit today. i have a table, trash can, hat and apron and an eventguide. Should I have received my MC card with this?

Another weird question. I actually have a MC card from when I was signed up with All About Events. I never actually did a job b/c they never had anything near me. I wonder if I am supposed to use that? I'll send an email off tonight. Anything like this happen to you guys?

I booked for 1st event on the phine today & I was asked if I would mind making a purchase of $0.75 at the time of my arrival & again when I left "in case I don't receive my MC card in time".

I sent an email off tonight so I should get an answer tomorrow. I don't mind making a $1.50 purchase. I'm worried about putting this table together! I am not mechanically inclined at all :sad2:

Table is pretty easy. Its that darn trash can I couldn't figure out at first.

Place bottom of table on the floor. (I like to have the handle facing me & not customer.)
Next take one of the support legs & bend it into a V -- with the slots facing up. Place into the table base.
Next take the other support legs & bend into into a V --with the slots facing down. Now turn it so the bottom of the V is at the top instead of the bottom. And slip this V into the other V.
Put top of table on -- again with handle hole facing you & not customers.

Viola. Practice a few times as home. Its not complicated. Written directions actually look worse. But sometimes it can be a bit clumsy to do.

I'll go back & see if I can find the written directions someone posted for the trash can...because I can't even explain that one. lol

Found it. 4/12/06 POST #226 by ZanneMarie.

"Ok... I will try to explain how to assemble the trash can. You are right it does end up being six sides-not all equal sides but six of them. There are six flaps...one that is kinda U shaped, two identical triangles, two more similar triangles and then a single longer tab-like one. Hold the future trash can with the longer tab-like one closest to you. Fold in the U shaped one, follow with the first set of triange ones (both of them), then the second set of triangles (both of them) and then finally the single tab...push the tab all the way in and it will lock with the others. Then push down from the new inside of the trash can. Voila!! I could not make it fit in the base of my table but I did not try that hard. Hope that was clearer than mud!!" End quote.

I practiced this one at home a few times...and STIL took the directions with me. After a few times, it wasn't a problem anymore. Good luck.

No events around here still. :sad1:

Did anyone else receive a "SPi - For a laugh" email from Taylor yesterday? I've tried to look at my "laugh", but don't see anything. Also, her email indicated something about if you wanted to work a second event on a day this weekend, to let her know. Apparently, SPi now has my application, but I've yet to receive the SPi login and password. Maybe I'll email her and see what's up.

I never received the carboard trash can. :sad2: I bought a hard plastic one at the dollar store.

Thanks! I'll practice when I get home tonight. I think I'll get DH to put the trash can together and just leave it

Splash,

You didnt wear the vest with the yellow sunvisor:rotfl2: that thing is hideous!

I am so glad you enjoyed the Grandopening and that Walmart does sound :scared1: I cant one that big. Wow! But then again they are putting them up here like McDonald's, there is one on every corner practically.

Yep, it is slooooow here too. Oh well going on vacation in 37 more days. But then again I demo'ed Grands biscuits more times than I ever wanted. I would have to say by the 4th demo, I felt like a culinary chef. Got the biscuits a perfect shade of golden brown, far from my first time when they were burnt on top and chewy on the bottom:eek:

Here's some :wizard: for us to get some more demo's going!!

I got an email from Taylor, she told me I'd have my MC card by tomorrow. She also told me if I wanted to do 2 events on Sat, I could certainly move the times around since all the events seem to run from 11-4. Has anyone run 2 events back to back. Do you think that would be too much? Esp for my first time?

No vest, but I did wear the ugly yellow visor & button. ;) Oh, & my apologies about size of store. Don't know what I was thinking. Last night I said it was 40,000 sq ft. (maybe that's a regular store??) DUH!!! Article in today's paper says 210,000 sq ft. And grand opening events continue today. I fixed my prior post.

The other store that also opened yesterday is "only" 187,000 sq ft. :rotfl:

Remember those 3M ScotchBrite floor & tub cleaning tools we did last Oct? And how cheap & sucky they were? Now I feel even worse for anyone I sold one too ---- free after rebate or not.

I just bought a Swiffer Wet/Jet that I plan on using washable Orange Glo floor pads on instead of buying disposables. Boy.....what a difference in quality of the handle & velcro. Now I see what people were talking about.

I'm soooooo embarassed to have had anything to do with those 3M Scotchbrite tools -- especially the floor tool. :sad2:

I got my welcome kit from SPI today. There are several jobs nearby, all the wal-marts near me(YEA!!!). But I couldn't book any of them because we already have plans on the days. Still no jobs with MCI.

Just thought I would let the rest of you that are waiting on it know. Maybe you will get them soon.

I haven't received a "welcome kit" yet, but I did get my user-id & password from Taylor after emailing her. Still no jobs in my area for TMT or SPi. :sad2:

I received my MC card today. I'm not going to work 2 jobs on Sat. I figure I should get my bearings and just work 1.

That would probably be a great idea just to work 1 on your first day!
You'll get the hang of it and be able to do 2 one of these days!
Have fun and relax!:thumbsup2

The table was a snap to put together! For some reason it seemed bigger in the pictures.

For those of us TMT’ers who can now do SPI events, be sure and update your “My Portfolio” when you log into your SPi ebooking. Most all “personal” information was carried over to SPi, but “My Portfolio”. As soon as I updated “My Portfolio”, several WalMart jobs appeared. Unfortunately, they’re the weekend I’m on vacation, but at least I now know WalMart jobs are available for me. :goodvibes Also, the "Points" program must be accumulative for each agency to receive the bonuses.

Speaking of points program.... This is the first time I have enough points since I'm now bringing a camera with me each time. At the end of the quarter, do we need to do anything to receive the $25 gift card -- like email anyone? Or do they just mail it out ---- eventually?

BTW....I've got 31 points ....BUT online they are counting all the way back to Oct 1...so maybe I don't really qualify this time. :confused3

Thanks for the SPI info. Hopefully we will all get our kits soon. If I don't I will try e-mailing for my password too.

I think they will mail it out at the end of this month... I think it said every 3 months...... I am looking forward to $50 at the end of the month!!! A nice bonus!!! I hope they really send them out, This is the first time for me too!!!
Oh My son just got his password today!!!! I am so excited for him,,, but there are no jobs right now.... So I will be on the look out for him!!!! Hopefully he can do a few before school is out..... He will be going to a lot of football camps this summer to get ready for college......
I'm off till Sunday!!! I needed a break after 3 off dates this week... I am tired of cooking bisuits!!!!! Have a great weekend!!!!
wendy

Oh they send them out believe me this will be my third I just got 75 points but that is dating back to October, I earned 25 this quarter for real because I have not been good about bringing my camera.

Last time they came in a seperate envelop with a letter telling you what a great job you did and blah, blah, blah. I am hoping we got ours before out trip.

It was nice I got mine a little after the New Year last time!!
