Hello everyone!

I was just hired by Mass Connection/SPI this week! I'm pretty excited. I'm in the process of reading all of the posts on this thread, I'm on page 50 now. I am learning so much from your previous experiences. I booked my first event today for March 4th demo-ing Diet Pepsi Jazz at Target. I'm nervous. I've been a stay at home mom for nearly 7 years. I haven't worked outside the home since my middle son was 1. That's a loooooooong time to be out of the loop. I've got a pretty outgoing personality, though, so I think I'll be good at this.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself to you all and thank the OP for this job opportunity, and thank all of you for posting your experiences. It'll be a huge help, I'm sure.

I think it should show up. Did you sign out and try signing back in?

Back from Kellogg and guess what the night stocking fairies must have been sleeping 'cause no KO water and almost no protein bars at least they had lots of cereal.

Back from my event, at least this one was a hit, everyone loved the fiber one bars. Altho they only had 9 boxes in stock after I bought my boxes. The cereal was also popular altho the calorie count was too high for some people. Ran out of product with one hour left, absolutely nothing and that was only cuz i started cutting the bars in 12 little pieces..lol and about 6 flakes of cereal.

Back from my Choxie event at Target.... Still That certain someone broke there promise and didn't come visit... Oh well, life goes on

My target actually received the Choxie from Mass Connections... holy crap! But they didn't receive the table kit... Ah well 1 for 2 isn't all that bad.

I know I said I would not be back, but I have decided to come back as a new person. I am here to help and ask questions now. I hope you like the new Martha. (I do not use many chat rooms so I was not used to it.)

Simple, I say....no one gets a sample until I get my picture taken. lol j/k. I make time for it.

My latest trick is: I jokingly say "You have to take a sample so I can go on break." LOL THAT actually works. hahaha

Today I sold 1/2 of the cereal...and all of the bars, including selling out just about all the other flavors of bars. I'm STILL amazed I did better on granola than I did on chocolate bars last week. Who would have guessed? I get to do this one more time on Tues.

Today, while walking the store for trash, I kept finding little cups with Chex Mix in them???? One employee said, wow, you're good, no one ever walks around for trash. I asked when the Chex Mix demo was....she said yesterday. (And I know it wasn't MC). Sooooo, I was picking up some OTHER demo companies trash.

BRivers....sooooo, THAT's what Choxie samples look like. lol I guess I know why we never get them. They are sitting in the managers office being gobbled up.

Splsh, I have to agree, as I was walking around for my trash, thre was so mush junk everywhere, and it wasnt other samples, you know what I found the most of?...stolen stuff people eat, there were wrappers everywhere and empty soda bottles and stuff everywhere, it was really sad!!

Not to mention that i walked away from my table by 15 feet to teh stock lady in the aisle in front of my table, i mean i was literally gone for 1 minute 30 seconds and i had 4 full bards dissapear, I dont know who took them cuz i literally walk back loking at my table, had my back turn for as long as it took me to ask her about more stofk in back, turn around and walk to my table and boom, they are gone! I was not thrilled, i only saw one person approach my table and take a SAMPLE not the bar, so I dont know if they cam from the back or what, but I thought it was pathetic! The only reason I saved my last bar is because I got back and jsut then some older kid came and started to grab my full bar, mind you I am standing right there and its not like they are in plain view I keep them behind my boxes, and i was like "excuse me, thats not a sample!" and hes like "its not?" ...what i felt like doing to that little ba$ard was grabbing him and asking him to bring back my other ones!..

sorry had to vent, i told my dbf how i was "thieved" in about 30 seconds and he couldnt believe it...lol

Well, back from my Choxie event. Overall went well. My store was able to find the table and sign part of the kit but even though a couple of the people I was working with remembered the chocolate no one could actually find it. So the requisitoned me the Choxie Truffle bars (the alternate in the directions)...only problem with that is they just did not have very many. I decided shortly after starting to hand out samples that I would need to cut the bars in smaller pieces...got 16 samples per bar. I am so glad that someone mentioned a few weeks ago about needing a knife for someother candy bar event even though it was not on the list. I had stuck my $1 Pampered Chef knife in at the last minute and I am so glad that I did.

One good thing is that unless they lose/eat/throw away the boxes, they already have the chocolate covered Altoids that I will be demoing at the same store on Saturday.

I set up just outside of my Food Avenue..not in it as directions stated. Seemed like there would be no room for FA customers and samplers. The FA at this store is on the way in to the store though so I get good traffic.

The Target I was at today (and will be for Altoids and Pepsi Jazz) is the one closest to my home and that I shop at. I ended up seeing 4-5 friends and many acquaintances from church etc. One friend is awfully interested in the demo job...it's a tough one to deal with...strangers are easy, I feel no guilt about telling them Spi and not MC, but a friend? I really don't want her to take my jobs though as they are hard enough to come by as is! I guess I will wait and see if she follows up with me.

No Choxie samples for me. Employees swore they had arrived the day before, but no one could find them. They had unboxed my table and knew where it was, but they didn't know 'what' it was
I ended up using the bars, and cutting each square in half (so 16 samples instead of 8 per bar) since they didn't have many bars.
At first, all I had was the Fiery Chocolate Truffle Bar for samples. Got some weird looks with that one! Finally the store found some other bars for me to use, which made it a lot easier to get people to take samples. I was mobbed between 3 and 4 pm.
I ended up setting up right beside Food Avenue, as there is no room in our snack bar for a table. Gave out about 300 samples.

Dodukes, I don't know if you did the Granola Snack Bar demo at Target a few months ago. The "sample" to hand out to people was a box of 3 full size granola bars . 3 bars to each person!!! People were like vultures. And yes, I had a group of teens that were trying everything possible to get more or steal more from my table. Early into event, I realized I was going to have to limit it to 1 box (of 3 bars) per family.

I remember the event being talked about here but no i didnt do it. I can imagine the vultures for that one, but it was just incredible today, to recah behind everything while i am stnding there to get a bar when you clearly seee smaller samples out, its just incredible.

Big surprise - the Choxie samples were no where to be found.. my kit was easily found though... The manager kept disappearing on me in his 'quest' to find my boxes. At 1:30 I finally told him he had two choices, send me home or pull stock for me to sample.. I offered to give him the list of alternate products so he could pull them but he smartly said he knew what I needed... he returned with 12 bars of the Thins (NOT the truffle ones I needed)... I wasn't about to tell him... It would have been 2pm before I started!!! Thankfully I had my knife & cutting board in my car.. I ran out at 4pm.. no manager to be found so I stood there until 5pm looking like an idiot. I'm doing Altoids there next week.. this is getting ridiculous... this Target never has my samples & the ONE time they did (Archer Farms bars) the boxes were open & samples were removed!!!
