My co-worker that just found out she is terminal is taking a last minute trip to Disneyland. Does anyone know of something special that we might be able to arrange for her and her family?

Could you find out what hotel they're staying at and call and pay for a room upgrade? Maybe contact a family member and arrange a car service instead of a shuttle if that was what they were planning to take. You could get a celebration package through Disney if they're staying onsite, but those can be pricey. If they're offsite or probably even on site you could arrange a gift basket through a company like MouseShoppe that would be more customized to what they like and the situation. Also, there was a thread where someone recommend some photographers that will do vacation pictures, you could try to arrange a day with one of those so they get family pictures, or maybe a gift card for a day's photopass or speak to a family member and ask them to register all of their ride photos and you can buy one for them when they return.

Thanks!
I'll see what I can find out.

That's so sad! And exactly what I'd do in her shoes - drop everything and head to Disney.

I probably wouldn't feel comfortable announcing I was terminal to CMs (who would, really), but I wonder if someone else can discreetly notify Disney of the family's circumstances in advance? If they are staying on-property, it seems like that would be the easiest route, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had surprise upgrades, etc. And then you'd have a go-between if you wanted to organize or contribute a treat or experience; sadly, they probably have some experience offering suggestions.

It's hard to make a suggestion if you don't know where they are staying or what they already have planned and booked, but I agree that the photopass gift idea is a great one and isn't too costly. No doubt they will want to remember this trip. Simply giving a Disney gift card is certainly the easiest idea, since they can use that for stores, restaurants, etc.

Not to be unsympathetic, but here are a LOT of people at the parks on a daily basis for a "special" and extreme reasons...both negative or positive. I would not anticipate that Disney will be able to do much.

Absolutely. And that's why I made a point of adding that a hotel-based go-between who has experience with this would be a great resource. Whether or not Disney does anything, it would be helpful to OP to know how to get his/her gift to the recipient and what gifts are typically most-appreciated in these circumstances. A gift card presented directly to the co-worker would be easy and simple, but OP seems to be looking for a suggestion beyond that. Someone AT Disney can probably help more than we can with logistics and suggestions.

No matter what you do, OP, it's kind of you to put thought into this for your co-worker.

Thanks for the suggestions! Turned out she ended up in the hospital and didn't go. Maybe later.
