Any ideas on how I can surprise my husband with something nice at Disney? Its his first time going and our 1st anniversary. He's really easy to surprise too :)

I noticed you can order specialty cakes, but I think that even ordering the smallest one might be way too much food since there is only two of us and we're on the dining plan.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

There is a thread on this same board about gift baskets by Sarah. This might be a fun thought. You could customerize the items ( a first visit pin, an Anniversary pin, a frame, toast glasses, treats, champagne, etc).

How about dinner at Coral Reef, and have the dinner hold up a sign?!?!?!?!

I have not used her but people rave about it, just food for thought!

They have a Richard Petty driving experience at the sports complex(I think) They get to actully drive a race car on a track. Looks kind of neat but Im sure it is $$$.

Does he like fishing? There are excursions. renting a boat to "cruise" around? Parasailing over at the Contemporary? Richard Petty? Oh, so much to choose from........ Have a great time

This is a sort of small & budget minded idea...

My DH is very much looking forward to our enjoying a couple glasses of our favorite wine & some fresh sushi, while relaxing on the Poly beach one evening and watching the fireworks over the MK. We are bringing the wine along from home, and staying at the Poly, so this will be a nice way for us to just kick back and relax one evening mid-trip.

Alternately, we had considered making an ADR for CG at the Contemporary, just getting sushi and drinks (or desert, depending on what we were in the mood for that evening), and then enjoying either the sunset or the evening fireworks from the rooftop viewing area.

We are also planning to rent 'watermice' one day, and go exploring out on the lakes. Should be lots of fun for both my DH & DS (11). The views of the resorts from the water can be really nice.

Any ways, we often spend so much time at WDW touring the parks and rushing from here to there, that it is a real treat to just slow down and relax every now and then. A memorable surprise doesn't have to cost $$$. Sometimes it is the little things & quieter moments together with family that can mean the most.

I sent my DH a chocolate tower of Ghirardelis chocolates for Fathers Day.

I was so disappointed that it was all melted!

We were staying at ASMu. They didnt deliver it to the room. He ended up walking to the front desk to get it. That time we were staying way in the back of the resort too! LOL

They called to tell him he had a package. Maybe they offered to bring it to the room and he said no, I dunno.

This is what I'm surprising my boyfriend with. We scheduled our meal to coincide with Wishes.

www.disneyflorist.com has some good ideas. One year, I ordered DH the bucket of beer. Another year, I bought him a trip to the Richard Petty driving experience. Does your hubby golf? You could get him a round of golf at a WDW course (while you were at the spa, of course!)

Baskets by Sarah has a lovely little "romance" basket that comes with etched mickey head wine glasses, sparkling cider, two chocolate rice crispy mickey heads and a box of chocolates. If you would like other things, Sarah totally works with you. I'm doing the romance basket for my husband on our anniversary trip in August. I'm changing out the box of chocolates for snickers bars and four huge chocolate chip cookies that are only found in Magic Kingdom!! (we'll both be training for a triathalon at that point, but I hope he'll enjoy a little of the treats and the rest we can take home with us!)

Sarah is VERY nice, and easy to work with. Her prices are reasonable and she does a very nice job with the baskets! (price includes delivery to your resort!)

I know that my very hard to surprise husband will be totally surprised by a basket just for him that was delivered before we got there!!

good luck...I think it's great that you want to do something nice for your husband. They need romantic surprises too!!

Don't forget to set up a telephone call from a disney character! I have a call set up the morning we leave. My DH should receive it while we are at the airport. Just some more Disney fun.......

Do they still have the rehitching ceremony at the Garden Grill at Epcot? I remember reading about it on here and it sounded cute.

Whats her website?
If you are looking for the baskets by Sarah.....here it the site: memoriesbysarah.com

She is super great to work with, always has good ideas and willing to search for things that you ask for. She is creating baskets for my sister, niece, nephew, and 2 sons for our trip the end of May. Now I am thinking maybe a romantic husband basket might be in order! :love2:

How do you set up a phone call? Details please.

Thanks.

How do you make arrangements for a character call? Can you do one everyday?

If you are refering to the character calls, you set it up on your phone in your room. Thats what I found on another thread. I guess theres directions there.

My dh has taken me to WDW 4 times with the last three times being three years in a row. I wanted to do something special for him. I ordered a basket from "www.memoriesbesarah.com" . I told Sarah that his nickname was Eeyore and he liked the outdoors. She put together a basket with an outdoors Eeyore, two wine glasses, grape cider, chocolates, pretzels, and cashews. He was so surprised. Mr. Outdoors man keeps his Eeyore on our dresser. LOL
