What's the best way to do this? We like to stay on Disney property and we love the dining options on disney property due to our multiple allergies! I am thinking we'll stay at POFQ or Carribean. So, we can rent a car if need be, but will we regret that? All we want to do at Universal is see Harry Potter Exhibit when it opens.

Seaworld can be a day trip before we even start our disney trip (or after it's over?) We can stay with family for a night and do that with them.

Do we NEED to stay at a Universal hotel (read that you need to for their version of fast pass?) Anything else that would make more sense in terms of getting a combination deal to do Universal and Seaworld if I stay off disney property?

Thank you for your knowledge! I know Disney well, but Universal is brand new to me!

It is highly unlikely that express passes will be allowed on The Forbidden Journey for quite some time. You will still be able to wander through the area but new rides don't get express access until the main surge is over.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is going to be absolutely jammed packed with people through the spring and summer. I would wait for a bit before heading in there.

Well, husband wants to go in Oct or Nov over Thanksgiving break. I know the latter is a busy travel time, too. I am a fan of the end of May, beginning of June, and I know it will be a zoo! Still, it's always a zoo at Disney and we have fun!
I don't know when we would be able to go, yet. Just trying to think ahead.

It may not even be open in May 2010.

Hey Sleeping....

I, too, am a Disney Fanatic who has (alas) HAD to add in a ONE DAY at US/IoA for the teens for 4 visits now...

My take on it is that US/IoA is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMAL than WDW....

We have never had to deal with problem long lines at US/IOA... and we've never had a FOTL (Universal's Front of the Line) pass ...

Don't feel you have to plan out your day like with WDW. IMHO...you can do US/IoA in One Day and see all you need to... (if your kids are close in age). If you have teens...you can dmail me and I'll give you my US/IoA touring plan.

Also - if you don't want to rent a vehicle...there is a shuttle called MEARS which is recommended to US/IOA from WDW.

We usually drive and stay offsite for US/IOA then head to BC @ WDW.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Disney Hugs,
Mary
