Wanna Get Away?

I am going to purchase SW tickets this week when they open up December. If I need to change my dates by a few days, and I book Wanna Get Away fare, will I be able to change the dates with no fee. Do they just change the dates if needed, then charge me the ticket price difference if there is an increase?

That's correct. SWA will allow you to change your flights to different days/times or to rebook your existing flight at a lower fare without any change fees. If you change to a higher fare, you will have to pay the difference. If you change to a lower fare, you will get the difference back in the form of a credit for a future flight.

How does the Wanna Get Away tickets work? If I book for say an 8 am flight, am I guaranteed to get that flight? I just did some checking on a flight in October since the December dates aren't available yet, and it was $118, an Anytime ticket is $272, and the Business Select was $292.

What is the difference between the 3 types. Business Select guarantees you seats in rows A1-15.

The type of fare you purchase, Wanna Get Away, Business Select, or Anytime, has no bearing on whether you get on a flight or not. If you book the 8 am flight, check in on time, and get to the airport on time, you won't get bumped.
Southwest usually asks for volunteers before they bump someone.
Anytime and Business Select Fares are fully refundable if you have to cancel or make a change. Wanna get away are refundable, but with Ticketless Travel Funds that can be used within one year of the date of purchase.

Thanks. Even with the Wanna Get Away price it was still $60 more than using US Air, so even with two pieces of checked luggage, I still make out better with US Air, I even get a later flight home with US Air giving me more time for Disney stuff on my last day.
I will check it out more once the December prices come out, but it doesn't seem like Southwest is really worth the price for me flying from Philly to Orlando.

Recently, the fares have been rather high on the day they come out. I usually book mine that day anyway and watch for them to go down and rebook. I have a few friends that often fly Southwest and we swap Ticketless Travel Funds all the time, so I know that I can rebook the lower fares and not lose the $$.
I have found that the fares for my trips are pretty close when comparing Southwest to the other legacy airlines. But that is what works for me. Your mileage may vary.
