Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Couple of things to report:

First - mileage for last week was 18 miles 3 hours

second - On Saturday i ran in a local 5K with my daughter (10). It was her first time at that distance. She has run several 1 mile events (best time 6:49) but this was her first 5K. She finished 2nd in the 12 and under age group, 147 out of 370 runners with a time of 27:39. I was proud. A couple more years and I am going to have trouble keeping up with her.

Hi

Ken - congrats on your DD! That's awesome. :thumbsup2

Did 1.95 tonight, 40 minutes total.

Have a great night.

Hi all,

Forgot to post for Sunday and Monday - 1/2 hr exercise each day.

Tonight did the treadmill for 1/2 hr, 2 miles.

Hey Warriors!

30 minutes pilates/crunches on Monday
3.7 miles 50 minutes today

Ken That's so cool about your DD running the 5K! I can't wait until DD is old enough to run with me. :goodvibes

Hi guys! Just wanted to let know I am still around. I know I owe you a lot of hours / miles!!!

I'm pretty sure I owe you all of Sept, but I try to check the master file to be sure.

I did do a 5K this past weekend so that will be double miles!!!

I'll check back in later w/ my totals to date.

Stacie

Happy Wednesday Warriors..........!

It's been a couple of day. My mileage has dropped (for reasons soon to be explained.), but Sunday I did about 5 miles on the bike @ The Race For the Cure @ WDW, and did a 2 mile walk/run with my DW in about 35 minutes that same afternoon.

Worked monday, and dis about 1 hour of weights at the station.

Yesterday, I went on a bike ride after work. I was planning on about 30 miles, and after my turnaround, I was at the 19.56 (exactly) mile mark (in 1:05 for record keeping purposes) when a pickup truck passed me, pulled onto the bike path and stopped dead cold. Good old Jim (me) proceeded to slam into said truck at about 20 mph.

This fun little incident resulted in:

1.) a trip to the hospital in the back of an ambulance in the care of my co-workers strapped to a backboard.
2.) X-rays and CT scans from head to foot
3.) 8 stitches in my chin
4.) a mild case of hypothermia from being clad in sweaty bike clothes in a really freakin' COLD hospital (seriously, no joke. I reached the "uncontrollable shivering stage"). I ended up sleeping under a heavy quilt last night while my DW slept under only a sheet
5.) A heavily damaged road/triathlon bike
6.) LOTS of medical bills, but since the driver of the truck was cited for illegal parking, guess who is gonna' pay???? :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
7.) A severely sprained right knee
8.) Some REALLY strangely shaped bruises interspersed along my body. The one on my left shoulder kinda' looks like a brake handle. Hmmmmmmm.

So.

Jim's lesson for the day: Wear your helmet when you bike and trust no one.

Obviously I am going to be on the mend for a few days, but definitely WILL be at the ToT.

Jim get well soon. I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Please take it easy.:flower3:

Jim - Yikes! I hope you feel better soon. That is awful.

Ken - Congrats to your DD! My DD is doing her first 5k in January at disney. She will be 8 then. Did your DD win something for being 2nd in her age group?

As for me:
yesterday 2 miles - 28 min
today 10 miles - 1:53 it was a good run!

Becky

Jim: So sorry to hear about your freakish accident. Hoping things get better for you soon. Take care of yourself and please wear that Bike Helmet.

Jim, sooo sorry to hear about the accident. Glad you're home now and on the mend. Sending lots of pixie dust your way!

:tiptoe: Hi Warriors! I've got some catching up to do, sorry once again for being MIA. I've been plugging away at things and mostly try to be outdoors since I know here it is coming to an end soon.

Jim, :scared1: OMG! that is scary and I'm glad you will be ok.

Ken, that is so wonderful that your young one is getting involved. You are a wonderful role model.

Here are my stats for last month.

8/22-8/31 = 21 mi 11 hr
9/1-9/7 = 20 mi 14 hr
9/8-9/14 = 20 mi 14 hr
9/15-9/21 = 36 mi 12 hr 20 min
9/22-9/30 = 27 mi 13 hr

I'll get to last week info, but will put that in another post.

Keep up the GREAT work Warriors!

Ken Congratulations on inspiring your little one! That's a wicked time.

Jim eek when things go wrong you seem to have major accidents! That sounds absolutely awful, i'm so sorry you're suffering. On the positive side, your bruises will be great camouflage if you need to hide from future predator trucks!!!!

I hit the gym after uni today- 6.2miles incl speedwork for 3 of those. 60mins and 10 stretching mins. Also had to run from lecture to the train station and then had to run to make connecting train too!!!! In total by tomorrow i think we'll have easily done 7.5 miles and 150mins of walking/running to and from uni. No more now until sunday's run so totals for week: 25.2miles, 348mins.

Hi all.

Did a short walk today, 1.6 miles - total 35 minutes.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Finally got in 4 miles after the rain and before it got too dark outside.

TIme: 58min 9sec and 5 min of stretching.

Tracy

Hey team!

KEN--great news about your DD. WOW that is amazing time! My son (8) ran his first 5k with me this summer and did well, too. It was great to do it with him.

Ok, my miles and times for the past two days:

Thursday - 17 miles on the bike in 1 hour, plus 30 minutes of strength for 90 minutes total.

Today - 3.6 mile tempo run plus LOADS of stretching, etc. for a total of 45 minutes.

Keep going Warriors!

Jim PD for a speedy recovery!!

10/8 -2 miles, 40 minute walk with DD

10/9-2 mile, 28 minute "run". I think I've done something to my left shin. The pain did not get better with additional stretching and more walking than running so I quit at 2 miles. at least I did something.

I hope to do 5 miles for my LR on Saturday!

Well, I'm done feeling sorry for myself and I'm back. Last Friday I developed a very sore toe. I thought it was an ingrown nail but I'm still not sure. Long story short, I soaked it and it got a little better so I decided to try the Portland half on Sunday. I was going along pretty well for me until I developed a major blister on my sore foot. I think it may have been the way I was walking to take the pressure off of my toe. From mile 7 on I was in agony and squished across the finish line. I'm very upset with myself because at this rate I'll never finish WDW in time.

The ugly truth is 13.1 miles in 3:57:51. The only positive is it counts as 26.2 here!

I'm getting my head back into the game and I'm ready to give training for WDW all that I have.

Wow...Barbara...your story sounds just like mine. I developed HUGE blisters on the bottom of both feet at mile 8 of my half last weekend. I too squished my way to the finish line in almost the same time. I feel your pain...literally!

But I did manage 2.5 miles last night in 36 min. I rubbed one of my blisters again, so that wasn't good, but I needed to get out there anyway.

Have a great weekend Warriors!

I'm sorry about those blisters. I WISH I had a magic wand to wave that they'd be gone for good.

Today was not at all what I had anticipated and I didn't even get to walk the dog. Tomorrow is packet pick-up.

Keep up the great work Warriors!
