Tracy are you officially signed up for princess half now princess: Oh i hope so! Yep i am indeed on facebook- Kate McGimpsey feel free to come and get me!!! lol. That's an unbelievable pace- you're running now right? That cannot be a walker pace surely!?!?!? You amaze me

Yes, yes, as you can sorta see in my siggy, I am OFFICIALLY signed up for the Princess.
Yes that is walking, or should I say race walking.

I'll go find you....

Happy weekend Warriors! Michelle, I am so sorry I missed you but I hope you have a great race.

Today I did 8 miles in 126:19 minutes.

Hi all Warriors!!

I did 7 miles this AM. 1 hour 42 min 48 sec. Add 5 min stretching.

Take care and good luck to all the Warriors that are doing races today!!!

Tracy

hey guys, i did it! Cabbage canter 10km ticked off. Urgh it wasn't easy as for some unknown reason we had beautiful weather- 20oC clear blue skies and we ran at midday so felt hot for me :cool1: I'll write a full report on other thread but in short, great 10min warm up in school field, started way too fast but made round first lap in tact- 2nd much harder but managed in 53mins so very happy. I'm now the proud owner of a cabbage and a medal- what more could you need!

Hope everyone else's events went well :goodvibes

Happy Sunday Warriors!!

I just got home from the Afac Tri @ WDW (report to come later).

It was a total of (according to Mr Garmin) 32.3 miles in 3:33. I guess that counts as 64.6 since it was on organized event??

Fun time, VERY tiring, weather cooperated for about 2 hours then it got really hot.

Hope all are well.

Jim, I think that deserved at least two cabbages and one MIckey Mouse Ice Cream bar - afterall you were at WDW!!

Tracy

Even after a week of inactivity due to sickness...

I PR'd my 5k this morning!!! Chip time was 38:51!!! :woohoo: I know it's not fast or anything, but for me (who did my first 5k last year in 48 minutes) it was great!

Way to go on your first tri, Jim! WARNING: They are very addictive!
:thumbsup2

Nice cabbage, Kate! Was the medal in the shape of a cabbage too?

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Hi Warriors!

I completed my half yesterday, so that is in the bank! Thank you all so much for your support. Although I finished (and yes, that is the real victory) I injured myself at about mile 9.5-ish. So the last 4 miles I was just limping along...considering I was hurt, it was a decent pace, but it definitely hurt my overall time.

13.1 miles in 2:34 so double that to 26.2 in 5 hours 12 minutes.

Congratulations Erika!!! SO sorry you got hurt!!!

FYI on races - We douible mileage, but not time. :(

I did a half on Saturday. Not my best race. 2:36-ish. I finished, though.

Just posted first week of Sept. (Sorry, I'm behind.) Should catch up tomorrow.

Congrats to Kate!

Way to go on the PR Michelle!!!

Jim =- Huge congrats on your first tri! Can't wait to read about it!

Thanks for the congrats everyone!

Jim absolutely so proud of you for completing your first tri and you did so so well. Great work.

Michelle you knocked 10minutes off? Oh my goodness, that's fab especially after you were poorly. No the medal was a bit dull, was a circle with 3 runners engraved into it. Should have been cabbage shaped.

Erika YOU DID IT!!!! Well done you. We knew you would, but i'm so sorry you got hurt- what did you do? 4 miles of limping must've put a strain on your other leg too hope you're ok. Erika's done a half marathon

Carrie brilliant effort for your half too- that's a great time and you can't PR every race! Well done.

I'm just in from a sports massage, was bit painful but hopefully i should see the benefit tomorrow again. Apparently my IT issues are because i have weak glutes so my knees twist when i run! Anyone know any good glutey exercises please let me kno!

Hey Warriors!

Looks like everyone was busy racing while I was gone! :cool1:  :woohoo: :cheer2:

Vacation was good, house was awesome, weather not so hot for half the time. Not much rain, but lots of clouds and really really bad wind, so we didn't get in much sitting on the beach time or for me much running time.

Total miles and minutes for last week 4.5 miles, 2 hours.

I start the MfM 1/2 training plan this week!!

Good Morning Warriors!!

Everyone is doing simply awesome out there in "WarriorLand".

Today was the 1st day of a new training phase that I am going to try for a while.

After doing some reading (yes.....................I DO know how.......), I found out that maybe my aerobic "base" was not all that great, so I am (just in my running) going at a pace to keep my H/R around 140. Supposedly that is my upper aerobic limit right now.

So I did 6.2 miles in 1:23 today.

It felt impossibly slow and easy, but, who knows? It may pay dividends in the long run. SUPPOSEDLY if I keep at that H/R, my SPEED at that rate will increase over time, which , in turn, will lead to JimB. becoming JimStudmuffin with the blue tights and red "S" on my chest.

Ok, maybe not. But hopefully more comfortable at my normal pace. Maybe?

Jen just posted....

GOOFY BABY IS HERE!

You can find the announcement and pics (OMG, what a beautiful baby) on the main Events page.
