Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Happy Monday All!

Today - 5.04 miles in 48:42.

It is now officially freakin' hot! I think it's low 90's right now.

You guys out west have it even worse! My Sympathies! waterwaterawaterwater.................................................

Hey Jim, just thought I would chime in and add that it's also officially FREAKIN hot in south FL. High today of 94, slight (and I mean slight) possiblity of a shower. Still Smoke Warnings today and I definately got a good wiff this morning when I let the dog out. Hoping for a shower down in the everglades near Miami-Dade county to help get rid of the fires burning there.

Tracy and Jim my sympathies are definitely on their way to you all bundled up in some pixie dust pixiedust: Sounds likes i got out of there just in time!

I've just finished 9 hours of lectures (with 1 hour break!) and managed to drag myself off to the gym for 3miles on the TM. With warm up and cool/ stretch= 40mins. No pain in my IT band on the treadmill which was lovely. Also 15mins of WiiFit

Happy start of the week :)

Hey team! I am going up north (brrr) tomorrow to visit family and will be gone until the end of the month. Carrie, I will report in with my totals (if I get any!) when I come back.

Hope everyone has happy training :)

Becky

hey everyone..I haven't had time to catch up on all the posts yet, but wanted to check in, since i've been MIA

unfortunately, after my long weekend of drinking mojitos and summer shandy's :drinking1 , I woke up Sunday morning with something I thought was the irish flu , but quickly realized it was more like the actual viral flu, aches, fever, stomach distress   DH got it yesterday (on his birthday). I am hoping that DD does not get it.

I am feeling better today. :) i hope to get back to training on Wednesday. I am only just now eating again.

I did do 2 miles on the beach friday in about 40 minutes, that doesn't sound great but I was pushing DD's jogging stroller through the sand, so it was quite the workout!

Have a good day everyone! :)

Kate - So, UK must have gotten the WiiFIt before teh US? WHat do you think of it? We dont' have a Wii, but I'm thinking a b-day anniversary combo at the end of teh summer.

Hi all! Did 8 miles in ~1:42 Saturday. I had some stomach issues and dh had claf issues, so we walked about a half mile. Not the best work out, but I knew it wan't my legs giving out, just likely sould nto eat brats too close to my work outs.

Been crazy, as usual. WIll try to catch up tomorrow.

Did another 1/2 mile swim last night...30 minutes.

I know I'm not bringing in the big numbers, but I only have 4 weeks until the tri! :scared: Swimming is my weakest leg, so I'm trying to concentrate on that right now which makes the miles add up much more slowly. :sad2:

Later Warriors!

Good Morning Warriors!!!

Today I managed .6 mile ocean swim in 25 minutes.

It was nice & calm and glassy. Piece of cake (relatively speaking) except for this nagging issue with my left rotator cuff. I seem to have a problem with being able to extend my left arm straight over my head without really working at it. It is not painful, but it is a "range of motion" issue. Hopefully it will resolve itself with more swim time.

I also managed a 14.3 mile bike ride in 48 minutes. It was a really nice time until my back end started to feel really "squishy" and unstable (ok, ok, make that the BIKE'S back end). I stopped and checked it and OMG! my tire is losing pressure & I am SEVEN MILES out! Holy Cheez Whiz Batman! I managed to pull into a convenience store & pump the tire full, & then it was TIME TO GO!!!!! Managed to make it back before I lost the tire completely.

I then ran 4.8 miles in 48 minutes followed by a .25 mile cool down. Total of 20 miles in 2:06

So. That's my uneventful day so far. How's yours??

Can I count just reading what Jim did as XT? ;)

Michelle - It's nto about the numbers, it's about getting the numbers in, it's about us being motivated to get the work outs in. :goodvibes No worries!

Howdy everyone. Hope you all had a nice weekend. I was out of town for graduation but got some running in today 7.23 1:11, 30 minutes crosstraining rowing and hand cycling at gym. :)

Can I count just reading what Jim did as XT? ;)

I second that- Jim another small, quiet workout for you then! :rotfl: Fantastic!

Carrie- yep we got WiiFit on the 25th April over here. Mine was preordered so got it delivered on the day. I love it, but not as a replacement for intensive exercise. More for encouraging me to stretch and try yoga... and also to have a good giggle with my family and friends. Crucial exercise in my eyes. Also despite what you said, an 8mile run with stomach issues or not is great

Erika well done for doing such a massive strength work out. You'll be as strong as hulk in no time!

Michelle, you just being here is enough for us. The fact that you have a tri coming up and are focused on swim sounds like a great idea to me.

Amy sorry you're feeling rubbish and what a massive workout pushing a jogger stroller through the sand. Hope you feel better soon

Tracy how are you finding the pilates? Great job fitting that in on a rest day

Becky hope you have a lovely time 'up north' with your family. We'll be here for when you get back :)

For me 15 mins stretching and 20 min stretching

Kate: Thanks for the Pixie Dust for the smoke. The air quality warning ended today. I am enjoying the Pilates (Panda and Amy keep me accountable on the Core accountablilty thread.)

I am just exhausted after reading Jim's workouts. I don't think he works, I think he is addicted to doing WO's, mabye we need to do an intervention or something??

I did 3 miles tonight in 42min18sec and about 8min stretching after.

(I'm thinking about getting a Wii in the future)

Been busy trying to settle at the new job but here are last weeks totals

24 miles 4 hours

i'm getting good at doing something everyday. Been stretching again and on WiiFit total of 40mins.

Hoping to go along to a running group in my city tomorrow but i'm very nervous about stupid things like should i take my water belt and what if i'm too slow! The leader said it's mainly women who run at 10min/mile which should be ok, but i haven't done any long runs since minnie so could be interesting.

Over half of the way through the week already, wow

Finally back on the treadmill! :woohoo: :yay:

3 miles, 42 minutes...I had set a goal of 2 miles, being it was my first outing since being  but my legs felt really good so I did another mile...

Question: right now I can easily do 5:1 (jogging/slow run to walk) intervals, at speed of 5, which usually means my miles overall turn out in the 13-14 min/mile range. This is what I did for the minnie 15K. I'd like to get my miles into the 12 minute/mile range. What is the best way to do this? Go faster for shorter intervals, gradually increasing the interval back up to 5 minutes?

I'd love to hear any reviews on the Wii Fit. I am debating between that , guitar hero and mario kart...:)

Have a good night everyone!

Got in a 5.5-mile run today...WOO HOO! Felt good for the first time in a while! I think my IT bands are actually healing! Imagine that!

I also did a loooong core work-out. Totals for today:

Miles = 5.5
Minutes = 93 (1:33)

Put me in for a short pilates WO and stretching with foam roller. 15 min.
