Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Hi everyone, first I wanted to say congrats to everyone who ran / walked last weekend. Also, when Stacey came home and told me what kind of support you receive from WISHers along the course and throughout the weekend, I started to really look forward to January. It's nice to see so many of you not only at races, but here at home supporting each other.

Ok, now this weeks totals, 5 miles and 2 1/2 hours running & other.

Have a great week everyone!

I did about 20 minutes in the pool and about 8min of pilates moves.

So let's see, I did the 5k and 15k for minnie - they count for double right? And since I busted up my knee during the races, I am taking a week off to see how it feels.

Sorry team, that I can't help contribute this week.

Congrats to all that were at minnie! I enjoyed meeting so many of you. Keep up the great work everyone!!

Becky

At my FL State racewalk event this morning I did 3.10 miles in 39min2sec!!:cool1:

Hey Warriors!

I did a 5k race in 32:xx with Harry today. SO DOUBLE MILES!! (You know that was the key to getting me to go, right?!)

Becky- I'm so surry your knee still hurts. I'd stay off it so you don't make it worse (like running a 15k knowing it's hurt;) ). Seriously though, when you started running, did you ever think you'd be so tough you could run 9 miles on an already painful knee?! How very Warrior-like of you!

Carrie: I have a bio posted on the newer bio thread if you need to link it to my name in the reports (like you have for some of the warriors).

Thanks oh wonderful leader.

Hi Warrior's! Today I did 3 miles in 47:34 minutes.

I found a race in October to keep me motivated through the summer. I am doing the Maine Half Marathon. I'm excited!!!!!

Jen - My knee is actually feeling ok, but I am giving it a full week just to be sure. I am so glad I had you there to distract me during the 15k or I would have been singing the woe is me tune ;)

Becky

Greetings Warriors: Uugh, I struggled through a 6 mile run yesterday. 6 miles on the Erie Canal trail in 54:29 min/9:04 mpm. I'm actually surprised by the time because every step of the way felt like I was fighting my body. I was exhausted, legs were dead, and my quads started cramping. Oh well, at least I got some steps in.

Hi all--I have been very bad about posting this week! Sorry! I am nursing two very sore IT bands, so my mileage is lower than normal.

Weds. 1.5 miles (I started and just had to turn around after only .75 mile...OUCH!) Came back home and did some strength training, so a total of 60 minutes.

Thursday--I limped a 3 mile run in 35 minutes. Yeah, it was long and slow and painful. With other stuff thrown in it was 50 minutes of total exercise time.

Friday-- 4.5 miles and that felt fine! Of course, the rest of the day and all day Saturday I was in pain! So, 4.5 miles and 65 minutes with warm up and cool down and stretching.

Sunday--WOO HOO 6 miles without pain! We'll see how I feel later. Time with warm up, etc, = 70 minutes.

Hey Warriors you have a new player coming over. Please welcome Amykab. She is a personal friend of Minnie.

UNfortunately my weekend was spent pouring money & time down the local storm drain.

In other words I was working on my boat & (per orders of my DW) HAD to get it finished. As such I did absolutely no training this weekend. Ugh.

But I DID get my DW, DD & myself registered for the 5K on marathon Weekend, so it was not a total loss.

Hi Everyone!

Just stopping by to introduce myself!! My name is Amy and I just completed the Minnie 5K AND 15K last weekend! I was too shy to introduce myself to any WISH'ers, but I look forward to meeting everyone in January!

I am going to do the half in january for the children's tumor foundation and am contemplating the princess half since I must have that tiara medal!

I am fortunate enough to only live an hour and a half from the world in palm harbor, FL. I am celebrating my first Mother's Day today with my DH and DD who is 10 months old!

I did 2 miles on friday in about 35 minutes (a walk/jog with my dd and my first effort since the 15K) and plan on jumping back on the TM this week. We are SOOOOOO lucky the minnie was last weekend...August like humidity is upon us already in FL this weekend!

AmyKab: :welcome: Great to have another Warrior on board!!! I'll be doing the WDW Half in Jan also - will be great to meet you. And your another Floridian, yes I think I have sweated enough in 2 days for I think about 2 weeks. Just to step outside these last two days I sweat as soon as the outside air hits me. ALthough I hear we are supposed to get a cool front coming through around Tuesday :lmao: .

jimB: I think your work on the boat counts, just like washing and waxing my car did. You know the saying, " the best boat to have is your friends boat!" :rotfl: .

Take care Warriors!!

Welcome to the Warriors Amykab. I told them to be on their best behavior, they can be mischevious.

A lot of us get together for the Tower of Terror 8 mile night race in Oct. It's a super fun time.

COngrats Stacie!

Welcome Amykab!

Hope to have totals updated durign lunch. Did 5 miles in 56 min Saturday. Very hilly, but legs felt ok for their first post-Minie run.

Welcome Amy!

I saw where you were running with your 10 month old. I started running with my little boy, who I call Coach Harry, when he was about the same age. I did the Goofy last year, and Harry went on every long run with me. I'm no expert, but I have a few tips if you ever need them! (And I'm having another boy in Sept. so I may need your tips later!)

Welcome to the Warriors!

Any tips you could give me on running with a baby would be great! DD will be getting a brand new jogging stroller for her 1st bday in June!

I totally admire you for doing these races while pregnant! I was lucky enough not to have morning sickness with DD, but I was so exhausted all the time!
