Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Good luck on your race Erika!!!! You are a Warrior so you'll be fine!!!!!

Welcome to our new Warrior, Michelle.

Congratulations on the job offer Dave!!!!

I've been in an exercise funk since the CMM 1/2 last weekend. I promise I'll be back at it on Monday!!!!!

Go Minnie racers, collect those cool medals!!!!!

Ok, so I am back, I finished and was not last!

It was raining and cold here on the Maine coast, but I lined up at the starting line just the same!

I did the 5k in 31:15. And while I realize that is considered a slow pace, I am thrilled with it. It is a definite PB for me..I usually run about 11 minute miles and this works out 10:05, so that is a major victory for me! And there was even a really long hill on the route.

Uphill in the rain! Now I really feel like a Warrior! :cool1:

So that is my time an mileage for today...and I guess I get to DOUBLE IT! :cheer2:

I did 30 miles on my bike today at the Minnie.

Everyone looked great!!!

A small group of Wisher's recognized me, so my incognito cover is now blown.

Nose job, hair implants & colored contacts are now on the way.............:rotfl:

Just alittle photo of some Walt's Warriors that were at the Wish meet at POR:

Welcome back, Dave! And CONGRATS on the job! WOO HOO! How exciting! I got a call from my provost as well...TENURE was approved! You are already posting some big numbers!
Erika- Congratulations on the tenure approval!!! :cool1: Wow, that is such great news. Fantastic! And 10 min miles on your first 5K! Whooo, hooo, you were smokin! WTG!

I did a LR on Saturday. I did 10 miles in 1:35:52 min/9:35 mpm pace. I felt good, it was a beautiful day, and no trouble with my hip! Whoo hoo.

3DisneyKids - You know, I was really nervous about the tri, but it was so much fun. Sure, I had some extended "transition" times (like the drive home from the gym and the drive to meet up with the running group:laughing: ) but for me to do all three in one evening was still pretty huge for me. And I wasn't sore the next day! :yay: You can do it :thumbsup2 . It really is fun!

Minnie Runners - Congrats on finishing!:cheer2: Looks like you all had a great time. Great photo of the team!

I did my LR on Sat. 8 miles - 1hr 50 min. My longest one yet!

Way to go Minnie runners! What a great showing of Warriors! Great pic! Can someone put names to the faces in the picture?

I did my LR today...and after yesterday's race, it was tough! I was drained after that little 5k--emotionally even more than physically, I think. I was just so nervous for that first race.

Anyway, today will be 6 miles and my minutes will be huge (hour and a half of tennis on top of 65 minutes of running) for 155 minutes (or 2:35 if you prefer it that way, Carrie! :goodvibes )

I'm back from Minnie!!!

Emma and I did the 5k in 54:06, which put us ahead of 100 people. Not bad considering she didn't want to wear herself out! We had a great time.

I ran the 15k with Becky- we finished in 1:48:03. Not so shabby! Again, great fun!

My only regret-- I just saw the Warriors' picture. I'm sad I didn't make the meeting...

Yea team!!!! Thanks for guilting me back on the exercise wagon. I have been in a funk since the CMM, missing my friends. I tend to slack off if I don't have a race to train for. One week turns into two and, you know how it goes.

Not this time!!!! I did 2.52 miles and 40 minutes.

Greetings Everyone: Yesterday I did 5 miles in 41:33 min for 8:18 mpm pace. Wow, that was my fastest ever.

Dave that is a great pace- well done!

Roxy- you're doing so well. I can't believe how far you've come since your foot op. You're amazing.

I've posted a minnie report, but thought i'd paste most of it over here too.

Can i first off say what an absolute pleasure it was to meet all wishers! I loved Anne's announcement as i walked into the meet- 'IT'S SMILEYK8.... FROM THE UK!!!' made me feel special. I probably spent the most time chatting to tracy so thank you for being so friendly and absolutely lovely! It was so great putting faces to warriers- stacie was the first person to recognise me closely followed by carrie.

Found the run hard work, although i was relieved it wasn't too hot. Around 7 miles my knee was twinging like crazy, but i remembered a quote i'd read in runners world- 'pain is temporary, quitting is forever' that kept me going. I surprised myself and actually found the last mile really hard- had imagined running thru epcot would be enough to keep me going.

Finished 1 hr 26min 3 secs in my first 15km and disney race. After walking through the picture bit and cuddling minnie (useful as my legs were dead!) my mum found me and we went to find dad. He'd been wandering around and had totally missed me :rotfl2:

Wahoo double miles!!!!! We're in ft lauderdale now so about to head out to build some sandcastles. Have a great week guys :goodvibes

Hi all!!!

Kate: It was soooo great to meet you at the meet - haha. I loved to see you and put posts to faces. So glad you had a good time and did great at the Minnie. Have fun in Fort Lauderdale, I'm about 40 minutes down the road.

Roxy: I agree you are doing so good after foot surgery. Looks like you are fully recovered.

Jen: I am also sorry I didn't get to see you at the Meet, I'm sure I saw you Sunday morning at some point. Flad you had a good run both days.

I forgot to post my Minnie time, 9.30 miles in 2hour10min54sec. Yah!! double points!!

Today after work I did 3 miles in about 41min. (I again forgot my Garmi, so it is just an estimate.)

I will try to put names to faces in the picture I posted of the WW at the POR Wish meet.

Take care.

Getting my report for last week in a little late but here it is:

20 miles - 3 hours 20 minutes

30 minute Walk Strong tape for 2 miles. Keep up the great workouts team!!!!!!

WAY TO GO KATE! And great time, too!

I did 60 minutes of strength today....rest day for running.

And I got the results of my first race from the week-end and I placed in my age group! (30-39) They post the Top 10 in each age group and I was 8th. And 44th overall out of a field of 94 runners (and then there were walkers on top of that, I believe). So I am certainly happy being a middle-of-the-packer there!

Dave - Huge congrats on teh job! I am so happy and relieved!!!

Pic - Top row L to R - Heather, Rohnda, tracey
Bottom - Stacie, LIly, Kate, Me

What a great warrior showing!!!

Had a great time time, even durign the race. ;-) It was wonderful meeting my team mates! I had a bonus of meeting Stacey in Epcot Saturday too. I hope she wasn't too scared when 4 of us made a b line for her!

Jim - I was looking for you. Thought I might have seen you, but that person wasn't shhering for WISHers, so I assumed it wasn't you. You MUST introduce yourself one of these days!!!!
