Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Jim- i love your posts. Promise you'll never stop your descriptions! Scenery hey :rotfl: Fantastic running again.

Roxy- i'm so pleased you're feeling your feet again. I'm no doctor but you seem to be storming along with those runs, i hope you're taking care of yourself too.

Stacey- sorry to hear jeff's all worn out, that's no fun is it! Hopefully it'll be worth it tho. Good job getting a new pilates video and a cycle in too, very impressive. I'm always amazed people can do pilates without someone showing them what to do- that's such a great skill. Made me giggle you were being so supportive and forgot to post your workout :lmao:

Stacie- please don't worry about a bad workout, i think we've all had them. I had one not long ago that i posted on here and panicked that i couldn't do my race, but you overcome tough runs. I tend to think runs depend on how you're thinking- if i'm determined i know i'll do it. Maybe think about your run for a bit before you do it or try to plan them so you feel mentally ready? I don't know, just guesses!

Carrie- i think packing shirts is def XT. It's certainly not resting is it! I hope you know how very much you're appreciated. I'm having a quick think about how long shipping would take to the UK, will PM you later when i've worked out which would be the best option!

Jen- i love that Harry is your coach, nothing will keep you going more than a child's laugh. It's so great you can run 'with' him and 3 miles in great time too.

Erika, great job on 4.1m and strength training too. You're so consistent it always staggers me. :thumbsup2

I don't have anything for today, rest for me apart from early shift at work of course  I'm getting a bit annoyed with my arm again- it's swollen and bruised again all by itself and i have less sensation in my first finger and thumb. Mum's panicking that it'll hurt when we fly in just 24 sleeps :cheer2: I'm hoping it will have gone back down by then.

ooops. wrong post

What a team!!!!! Today I did 3.55 miles in 56 miutes. I'm gearing up for my 10 miles this weekend. If I didn't have this team to come to I never would be doing this. Thank you all!!!!

Kate - Your arm has me worried. SHouldn't you be seeing a doctor? :wizard:

Jim - You crack me up too! Tahnsk for that!

Barb - Way to go! I'm so glad you're here adn this is helping you!

Roxy - Were you just lying about the surgery so we'd be really, really impressed with your work outs??? ;) ;) You're not over doing it, are you?

Erika - Way to go!

I did 30 min today. Best pace in ages (of course, it was only 30 min adn I have to do 13.1 SUnday). Dh was holding me back. :scared1: Probabley a good thing, though. We had a 10:47 pace. (Haven't been sub 11 in almost a year.

Roxy! Great job on the running. You are back at it so quickly. Be careful.

Jim, :lmao: scenery...

Kate, I'm concerned about the arm too. Have you talked with your doc I hope.

Rhonda, it is good to see you posting the numbers.

Carrie, good luck this weekend. Remember Have fun!

I've been released by the doc to begin full participation! Today I did Pilates DVD, but not full out cuz it's not working. But I'm working at it!

Today ----

23.4 mile bike ride in 1:26, followed by a 4.1 mile run in 42:36.

I felt REALLY tired today.......................... :guilty: :guilty:

Maybe it was because I did not eat anything beforehand.

I still don't really think I have this "fuel & hydration" thing down very well...........

Jim -That's no good. I always have a 24 oz Powerade adn a SNicker's marathon bar an hour before hand. Then I Gu about every 45 to 60 min adn dirnk a couple ounces of water or Powerade about every 5 to 10 minutes. That's probably excessive. I have sugar and hydration issues. Something to start from, though. Are you getting enough sleep or overdoing the work outs? That oculd do it too.

Lily - So happy for you adn so proud of you fro taking care of yourself so well! Yup, it's about fun this weekend!

I'll be racing Sunday, so I'l be doubling my milers. Woo hoo! It'll look loke i ran a full in very speedy time. lol.

Have a great time this weekend everyone!

Are you getting enough sleep

No. Never have. Probably never will. My sleep pattern is terrible & I sleep even worse at work.

overdoing the work outs?

Do not think so. I take 1 out of every 3 days completely off.

I think I need to get in the habit of eating SOMETHING as soon as I get up in the morning. That would probably help. I DO drink enough. Usually load up about an hour prior & take something with me.

ETA: It was also hot as a freakin' oven today. It is getting to the "really pay attention to fluids" time of year. Sweat was definitely NOT in short supply.

I sleep even worse at work.
I was gonna' tell you that my work habits can be bad, but not THAT bad. Then, I remebered what you do. :lmao: Hope you can find somethign that works!

LILY- I'm so pleased you've been released from the doctor. WAHOO. Well done doing pilates too, are you a vision of calm and centredness? :rotfl:

Carrie- racing on sunday- hmm i'm going in search of some details after posting here. Hope you have a very enjoyable day. I loved ticking off double the miles- it felt good!

Jim- sorry you struggled this morning. Eating and drinkin has never seemed so complicated! Even so you got in a fab workout. Totally understand your issue with sleep- we do awake nights at work and i never sleep as well during the day.

Roxy- great distance again. You're like our warrier rock

Barb you can totally do your 10miles, we believe in you and i'll be sending powerful vibes to you!

Today- ran 9.8 miles on TM with incline 1.0-2.5 to try to make it a bit more exciting. I now am officially a runner, I HAVE A FAVOURITE TREADMILL :rotfl: There's one at the gym that sits in the corner and faces a bright green fire escape sign, which i stare at and pretend it's a WISH runner i've got to keep up with. I know it sounds crazy, but during runs these things feel totally normal :lmao:

I'm not worried about my arm really- if i wake up and it's hanging off... then i'll go to the doctor! It's just irritating and is getting in the way of shopping!!!! Tut tut.

So total with warm up/ down 10.3miles 95mins.

Just thought i'd post week total too: 22.3miles 204mins (3hr 24mins). That's my furthest purely running miles ever an i totally have all you guys to thank so THANK YOU ALL!

So today was my first outdoor RUN since the marathon in January. I was actually a little nervous since I have been strictly walking, that I would not have the respiratory for running. Well, I am happy to say that I did 7.1 miles in 1hr 18min - that's 11:06/mile!!! I ran the whole thing except when I had my Gu halfway through. I am so excited I can't even tell you all! It was so great to be outside too. When I got home I hopped in my pool (which is still very cold) and used that as my ice bath for my knees. Felt great today :)

I have miles to report for the rest of the week as well, I need to go add them up.

Lily - I am so happy to hear you are doing well and the doctor gave you the go ahead!

Carrie - great run! Good luck this weekend!!

Roxy - Wow, great job!

Barb - Good luck with your 10 miler this weekend!

Jen - LOL about harry!!

Stacie - Aw, I think we all have days like that. I hope the shin feels better.

Way to go Team!! Keep it up!!

Becky

Jim, with the heat you face, I'm thinking you would be a good candidate to try endurolytes capusles. I used them last Goofy and DH has tried them for his muscle cramping he gets in the heat (not running related). Robert and I think Linda use them too. You really do have to eat, but the endurolytes might help a great deal too.

Have a great weekend Warriors. I'll post up my totals for the week over the weekend. I am hoping to get a long-ish walk in if it ever stops raining cuz I want to be outside for the trek.

2 mile Walk Strong in 30 minutes.

My weekly totals are: 18.35 miles and 286 minutes

Have a great race Carrie, I'll be thinking about you and Scott!

Got in a 60 minute pilates/yoga class today. Couldn't make it to the gym yesterday - had unexpected visitors to the house and my whole schedule got thrown off. Anyway, it is supposed to be a nice weekend here and I am hoping I'll get some time out on the trail.

WISHing everyone a great weekend!!

Whew, my 10 miler is in the books! 10 miles in 158:27 minutes. I am so ready for the taper!!!!! Three weeks from today is the CMM and I'll be ready.

SmileyK8, thanks for sending the powerful vibes!

Here's my weekly info:

330 minutes
15.3 miles

Had a great one today too! It was outdoors and I amazed even me.
