Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

todaY 1.5 hours weight lifting + 6.4 miles in 1 hour running

Jim--you are such an inspiration! The amount of time and miles you put in each week is amazing! :worship: My question is...how do you find the time? I am pressed when I go over an hour total (like I did today...running plus weights was 1:20). I am excited to train for the 1/2, but I honestly don't where the time is going to come from on those "long run" days. Any secrets to share?

HI guys!!!

I am so jealous of your times!!! I'm happy with a 13 minute mile! Slow and steady... I'm ok w/ that as I need to work on my endruance so I can manage the Minnie 15K. I'd one day like to be around a 10 min mile pace though.

Hope everyone is having a good day!
Stacie

I hear ya, Stacie. I try hard not to worry about my pace, but it is hard not to think about it. I am pretty steady at about 12mm, and when I bump up to 11.5 I feel like I am really moving! :lmao: Like you, my goal is to get to steady 10mm. I don't really think I ever need to go faster than that.

I am going to start with a personal running coach next month and that is one of the questions I am going to ask...I will be sure to share my knowledge here! :goodvibes

Checking in Warriors! 2.75 miles, 45 minutes.

Thanks for the support everyone, I really appreciate it. I will continue to give it all I have and see what happens.

Erika - Personal running coach? That just sounds scary to me. OCUldn't whine to tehm like I do dh.

Roxy - Yikes. That does not sound like fun. Never happened here. Seems liek you shoudl get that checked.

While I had a cruddy run, even though I was outside and by myself, which I usually enjoy. Hmmm...Been doing books on tap on teh TM and did that outside instead of music. Seems liek it occupies teh brain more, but maybe I don't need that outside. Hmmm...

Anyway, 50 mintues and just over 4 miles. I was almost a minute per mile slower than my 6 miles last weekend. :sad2:

yay! It's Friday!!!

Carrie...Sorry you had a bad run, but at least you got it in!!! :thumbsup2

You guys are doing great!!! It will be interesting to see how they other teams have done this month.

I think starting in March I am going to try to add more water! I have such a terrible time with that! Maybe that will help in my weight loss.

Stacie

My weekly total is 20.8 miles, 185 mins, it seems to be going down not up! Oh well next week maybe i can get 4 sessions in again :)

Happy weekend

Hi everyone! Just a quick check in here...

my totals for the week are:
minutes: 190
miles: 26.48

You guys are doing great! I'm so sorry that I don't pop in here very much. This team is amazing! I'll try to do better.

Hey Warriors!

Looks like everyone is doing great! I'm in a bit of a slump, but managed 2 miles at about 22 minutes on both Wednesday and Thursday. Hope I can get in some decent time this weekend.

Hey- for those of you in cold climates, we have snow day tomorrow! :cool1: The big truck is coming to blow "snow" on a hill so the kids can sled (it's through our church, not something I came up with!) It's hysterical how excited they get! I'll try to take some pictures for your amusement.

Roxy- I had a friend in college who used to get a cyst on top of her hand. When it got bad, she'd drop a heavy textbook on it. In theory it would break up and be better. I don't know what she did long term to fix it. It used to completely push me over the edge (not the cyst itself, but the whole self-torture thing!:scared1: ) I wouldn't recommend that approach...;)

Had an mri on my foot. Will not know til wednesday what is up.:sad2: Have a great weekend everyone.:thumbsup2

Tonight was Walk Strong, 2 miles, 30 minutes.

My weekly total is: 13.07 miles
212 minutes

Another great week, awesome job everyone!!!!!

My weekly totals are:

7.6 miles
120 minutes

Not much but better than nothing.

I was given permission to drive Thursday and can walk to my heart's content, no lifting at all, no other weights. So, I did 30 mins of gerbil track at the gym for a 1.7-ish distance and a 17:30-ish pace. It felt soooo good.
:dance3:

Today though I rested totally.

Great job getting your walk in Lily--and even better job knowing that you need to rest! :goodvibes

I got a total of 4.2 miles in today...and total time (running + some weights) was 55 minutes.

Hey Warriors I'm sending y'all a new recruit . DSNYFAN21. She is a budding race walker with some half marathons under her belts.

Please welcome her to your team.

Party Panda:hippie:

Welcome DSNYFAN21 to the strongest, toughest little team in town- WALTS WARRIERS!!!!
When you get chance pop in and tell us a little about you. We're standing by ready to cheer for you!

Welcome to our team DSNYFAN21!!!! I look forward to getting to know you.

Barbara

DSNYFAN21, Tracy, :welcome: it is great to have you here!

I'm planning to get to the gym and gerbil track today to do another 30 minutes walking. I wonder if I can keep up that stellar 17:30 min/mile pace I managed on Thursday. I'll let you know...

Lily....great to hear you are recovering! :goodvibes

Roxy, good luck with your foot.

Sorry, just a drive-by from the Donald team. ;)

Roxy i'm so sorry you're foot's bothering you. When do you get results back? I had an MRI on my foot a few years ago and have to say i was very glad my head didn't have to go in too, it's one weird machine! Good luck with it tho.

Today it's windy and rainy outside, but i've been in bed all day cos of night shifts so got up and made myself get outside before work. Ran constantly for 4.5 miles in 46 minutes. I'm thinking maybe i can do this 5 mile race on 23rd even though my sister has decided she'll probably pull out :confused3
