Yeaaaa, I'm the first post behind Tracy! That means it's going to be a good running month for me!:cool1:

Welcome to the Warriors Brandie!

Rest day for me today, out for a short three before my massage in the morning.

Have a good one...cheers

Saw this on DVC News -

A poster on the DISboards (and Walt Disney World Cast Member) is reporting that beginning August 2, 2009, most Annual Passes will renew for a period of 15 months instead of the current 12 months.

According to the information provided by "Cheshire Figment":

Effective August 2, 2009 renewals within 30 days before or after the expiration date will receive an additional three months and will be valid for 15 months from the expiration date of the current Pass. Renewal Exchange Vouchers sold prior to August 2, 2009 may be redeemed with this offer provided the renewal is occurring August 2, 2009 or later.

The notice did not specifically state that Disney Vacation Club Annual Passes are included in this offer. However, every other variety of Annual Pass for the 4 major theme parks is included.

It is also not known if this is a limited time offer vs. a global policy change, or how renewal pricing would be impacted by introduction of the 15-month term.

Happy August Warriors!!!

I have been kinda' absent most of July (if anyone noticed...............:confused3:confused3).

I had a respiratory infection in early July which sidelined me for about a week,

THEN we had a really bad thing (which will not be specifically mentioned, but it was like a small nuclear bomb going off in our household) happen which sidetracked me for a few days,

THEN, after successfully passing through door frames about 7.65 MILLION times in my life, I managed to NOT make it through one, smashed my foot into it, and broke a bone in my foot !

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgh!!! :headache::headache::headache::headache:

But things are definitely on the upswing (I hope). I cannot run for a couple more weeks (by order of my personal physician/veterinarian, the World Famous Rachel B.), can't use my road bike, because my feet fit really snugly in my road shoes and they put a lot of pressure of my broken bone. But I CAN make it around on my mountain bike, so I am going to be hitting that hard this month, along with getting back into the ocean for some open water swimming.

So I started the month off with a 28 mile ride this morning. Kinda' slow, because that's the nature of a mountain bike, but it felt good & no one really tried to kill me today.

I felt like last month my cardio base just disappeared on me, but it seems to be coming back.

Hope all is well with the rest of the Mighty Warriors. I DID manage, through all the tumult, to log about 117 miles last month, which I put on the spreadsheet today.

Marcia!! Hey girlfriend ! - Glad to hear you are getting your massage this morning, I need to schedule mine for August also!.

ALoha Jeff: How are ya feeling after that TRI?

Jim: SO SORRRYYY to hear about the foot. aawwhhhh! Take care of that, but biking and swimming will help to keep you on track I am sure.

AFM: Started out August with a bang, kind of. hehe. Wounded warrior is still not allowed to jog. Shin seems to be feeling much better, but PT exercises on Thursday really made my calf very sore and I woke up this morning to strectch and got a nice charley horse - ouch! Stretched and used my "stick". Did a slow 3 miles walking as the calf was killing me, not to the point of limping but almost. Then I got on the bike and did 10.12 miles. A good day overall with miles, so I will take it without complaint!

Hopefully the team threads and the monthly WISH thread will start to pick up a bit with people starting their training schedule for January Weekend at WDW.

Take Care my Wonderful Warriors and have a great Saturday!

Love ya's one and all!!!!

Racey Tracy

Hi all! Thanks for the great welcome. I am excited to be a part of the team.

A little about me, I am a nut as I signed up to do Goofy for my first full, but should at least be interesting with some great friends. I have been running for about 2 years and gave myself a busy schedule for this season. I live in SW Florida and our season starts in Oct. I plan on a 1/2 in Montreal in Sept, a 20K in Naples in Sept, ToT at Disney in Oct, Spacecoast in Nov, a 10K in Dec and then Goofy in Jan. Sadly it only gets worse from there. I figure that if I am going to train for Goofy I might as well get some medals for it. I am currently running about 30-40 miles per week.

Once again thanks for the welcome and I can't wait to get to know all of you!

HI! Checking IN for August!

I will post my miles and minutes fdor July on the spreadsheet.

Checking in for August!

My july totals are on the spreadsheet. Getting excited about starting Mickey training this month. And I saw that there are some Goofy spots still open, so I am contemplating that.

I am breaking my rule about NOT going to WDW in the month of August. We decided to to a quick weekend trip over there since my schedule may be crazy for a bit initially once I start my job and not being able to take PTO for a bit. We are doing SSR for three nights in a couple weeks. I plan on it being a mostly resort trip, with some park time at night.

Ha I wish our forecast for August was hot.... mild and wet is our long range forecast, which is the exact opposite to what they told us a few weeks ago. My sister gets married in 3 weeks too!!!!

Amy how amazing that you can pop to WDW and with the lovely security of a job again. I'm so pleased for you. Big cuddle is coming your way!

Erika brilliant to see you, hope all is well.

BRANDI welcome :grouphug: that is one crazy schedule of races, but your logic is wonderful. It's bound to make you more motivated to get long runs in when you're getting a medal for it  Looking forward to getting to know you and meeting you in Jan

Tracy you take care of your shin! Hate reading that you're in pain, that's rubbish, but hopefully PT will sort you out. Near limping is not nice tho. Lots of ice time for you i guess.

Jim eek for July, on the positive side that month's over now  I'm impressed you can mountain bike with a broken foot too, does it hurt and does that mean you're off work? I'm presuming you are?

Marcia you definitely win, good job! :rotfl: how was the massage?

Me hit the gym this morning for 4miles 34mins and some stretching. managed to drag mum along too so she went for a swim :woohoo: it's like pulling teeth getting her to walk through those doors :upsidedow Wish sofa shopping counted- walked round and around trying to find a really normal, simple sofa! Who knew it would be so hard.

I'm impressed you can mountain bike with a broken foot too, does it hurt and does that mean you're off work? I'm presuming you are?

Yes it hurts, but mostly afterwards, no I'm not taking time off from work. It's a somewhat tense time around the fire department right now, & I think I need to be there for the guys & ladies that work for me.

Hello Warriors!

My first double digit run for Goofy training is in the books. 10 miles this morning went great! Let's hope it keeps feeling "great" until Jan!!;)

Tracy - I will post my totals for July tomorrow. My spreadsheet is on my work computer...

Hi Warriors!!

I haven't posted hardly any in July and I am going to try to do better this month! We were at Fort Wilderness July 4th and went to the beach last week. We tried to keep up the running , but vacation got in the way. We still walked a lot while we were on vacation though, but the progress has really slowed for my C25K program. Hopefully with school starting back next week we will get back in the groove. We are going to run a 5K Labor Day weekend so I will be excited to see how much faster this time than when I first started running way back in May and my goal was to not get kicked to the sidewalk to finish!! I actually hope to run the whole thing.

I hope everyone's injuries heal quickly!!

By the way my son has gotten the running bug! He ran 3 times yesterday. Of course he is 13 so it doesn't really bother him. :cool2: He has not been released from the ortho dr. to play football (broken same arm 2 times since Feb) so he has decided to do cross country.

Hope everyone has a great August!!!

Jennifer

Hi Team!

Just checking in to say hi! Tracy posted the miles in the spreadsheet last night.

Brandie - :yay: welcome to the Warriors!! :yay:

Jim - :grouphug: and PD getting you and things getting better.

I skipped the walk this morning, will try and get out later, if not one on tap for tomorrow definitely. We have a 5k in town this weekend that me, Jeff and Alicia are going to do.

Have a great day all!! :grouphug:

Hi Warriors! I'm doing a quick check in on my iPod touch from Toronto! I've been virtually internet free for the past 3 weeks but we're picking up the dog from the kennel when they open this afternoon (it's a holiday in Canada) and starting our drive back to Seattle.

I've been pretty lax on the running for the past month. My wedding was July 17 (it went better than planned and was fantastic - I'll post a link to pictures but I've been so out of the loop that I haven't even seen them yet!) and then we were at a cottage on an island for 2 weeks and it's hard to work up energy to run when you have to take a boat to the mainland first! Then my best friend's wedding was this weekend and it was an Indian wedding so...

Anyway I'll updatethe spreadsheet with my totals once I get home and can upload my garmin. I did run the running portion of the lake community relay triathlon and it was the hardest 1.25 miles of my life. A long sprint in the hottest part of the day is not my idea of a good time! I also saw that the family 5k is at epcot this year so... I'm going Dopey. Epcot is my weakness!

Hi Warriors! We had a great almost 4 hour hike today. Not pace stuff, but out there nonetheless.

I'm so glad to be meeting you Brandie! You've definitely got some schedule going there. Sounds like a great plan.

Been having a bit of a holiday with DH and now he's back to the grind for several days/weeks in a row (with only the hope of a free couple hours) so it will be back to business for me.

I can't believe it's August already! Keep cool everyone!

Tracy - I didn't give you miles and times for June? I thought I did... maybe not- let me know. I just posted July's on the July thread.

Sorry Tracy...lots going on at work...transfered, moved, yadda, yadda, yadda... UGH!

Totals for July
Miles: 42.45 (my worst month yet!:sad2:)
Time: 11:09:00

Jim eeek, sorry to hear things aren't good at work and that you're in pain too. Not good at all.

Went for a fab run club outing today-covered 8.5miles at chatting pace with a lovely little group. It makes such a difference who you run with. I wish i could meet up with you guys for a jog :rotfl:

We can definitely go the distance this month- go warriors
