Walt's Or Blue Lagoon

Which one would you book? There's 3 of us (me, dh & dd who is 2) and have decided not to go for the Cowboy Cookout as my previous thread.

Walt's is swaying me as I would love to try the food in there but I think I'd like to try the Blue Lagoon for the atmosphere etc.. I don't really like fish much so in the BL I've only seen 1 thing on the menu I'd eat & not sure what we'd order for DD.

Any thoughts?

Even though we love Walt's my dd's favourite is Blue Lagoon and it came a close 2nd for us too. If there's something you'd eat I'd go for Blue Lagoon for the theming, your dd would probably get more out of it, I'm veggie and had their veggie dish which was if I remember perfumed vegetables, yummy mash potatoe and something else .... it was dark so I didn't really have a clue but I cleared my plate mum ate the chicken and said it was really nice if that's any help. x

We enjoyed blue lagoon this trip. DH and mother-in-law had the carribean chicken andi had swordfish, all very nice.

DS had the cheese pasta of the kids menu, tortellini with tomato sause, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella, veg. He had a bit of everything, wasnt too keen on the dressing on the tomatoes. Hevthen had ice-cream with smarties ( strange child- not to keen on ice-cream, but he had a few spoonfuls.)

Puddings were good creme brûlée which arrived on fire and the coconut ice-cream.

We enjoyed it for a change of scenery. Service was good and price ok. When we arrived the tried to seat us at the back but we asked to move to a table at the water, DS spent ages waving at the boats.

I haven't been to Walts (yet!) but we went to Blue Lagoon last week.

Neither of us eat much fish so both had the chicken, which was OK but not amazing , but you're really paying for the atmosphere (at least for non fish eaters!)

Really glad we went and it IS worth it for the atmosphere (if budget allows) but if you're not a big fish eater just keep in mind that's the reason you're going! Was one of my must dos and so glad we ticked it off the list. Also it's lovely and quiet and calm and a lovely break from the busy parks!

Pudding was really good though - I had the gourmet coffee and DBF the banana trio of desert.

You'll have to let me know what you think when you get back as we have a couple of days overlap between you getting back & us going. Alex is swayed towards Walt's but I think he's so sick of hearing about it I can't even get a response out of him anymore.

A tough one - Walt's is my favourite restaurant but I also love Blue Lagoon.

Only one thing for it - you'll just have to book another trip for the one you don't get to eat at this time!

If you would like to visit both for the atmosphere why not have 2 "express lunches" rather than a dinner?

We normally spend around €35-40 per person on a 3 course dinner. The express lunch is normally around €20 per person, so you could do both for around the same price

I didn't know they did an express lunch at Walt's.

We've decided on Walt's as my dh prefered the sound of the food to Blue Lagoon.

We are just back from paris and ate in Walt's (express lunch) and I have to say it is absolutely great. The food was much better as in blue lagoon (we were there about 2 years ago, so that might have changed), and the theming is great. However eating in an attraction is somewhat unique, so if the setting is more important than the food, blue lagoon might be an option nevertheless.

All of the express lunches are around €20 per person. You get a choice of main then a 'cafe gourmand' for dessert, which is a cup of coffee (or tea) with a selection of mini desserts.

It was 19,99 Euro including 2 courses: The main dish was rumpstreak (about 250-300 gramm) with fried potatoes -or- risotto with aspargus -or- something with cotfish. The dessert was a sampler consisting out of ice cream a small extravagant cookie and a mini choco muffin. As an extra there was a choice of tea or coffee. During the meal you get bread as much as you like. In my opinion a fantastic value!

And in answer to the question - I'd go to Walt's every time. It's my favourite restaurant in the park by far
