Walt's favorite at Red Lobster !

Just got back from red lobster. Their menus had descriptions like:

Walt's Favorite Shrimp
Hand-breaded, butterflied shrimp fried to a golden brown.

We asked the waiter and he said others had asked but he did not know to whom it was referring.

I searched some and found this:

When Morris joined Red Lobster as executive vice president of operations, she began focusing on improving the chain's service and food. She hired former Walt Disney World foodservice veteran Keith Keogh as senior vice president of culinary and beverage excellence.

Maybe it is in refference to him....?

Rumor has it most of Red Lobsters recipes came from an Orlando restaurant called Gary's Duck Inn. Maybe Walt ate there while visiting Orlando to plan WDW?

It's such a coincidence that you bring this up because my mom, a friend and I had lunch there yesterday and I saw that on the menu and said to my (Disney loving) friend "Wonder if that's Walt DISNEY's favorite?!"

At one time, the origin of the name was on the menu-Walt was one of their cooks. Although I have to say, it's MY favorite-I love their shrimp.

A chef by the name of Walt that worked for them. Haven't seen the description on the menu since I left Maryland, though. I'll take a look the next time we're there. We've got a gift certificate and I know we'll go soon.

I looked on the Red Lobster website and found this quote on their official menu under the Walt's favorite shrimp.

Walt's Favorite Fried Shrimp - Walt (our first crew member) likes 'em, so will you! Our best shrimp - fried to order.

I didn't think it was Walt Disney because he passed away in 1966 and Red Lobster wasn't around or just wasn't that well known back then
