Walt Warriors

Jeremy-I always use my Cho-Pat Dual Action knee straps and they DO make a difference.

Amanda-Glad they took care of your timing.

Pam-I used Kathy's calf compression sleeves when I had cramping issues and they worked.

Pam- sorry that your calves were sore, I also like to run with some sort of compression on when it's not too hot. The expo sounds ridiculous, what a shame hey. Glad it didn't put too much of a downer on your trip though. Loving that you're back in training already!

Jeremy- ergh for your knee. I'm not sure when spring break is, but I hope it's feeling less nervous and twingy.

John- lol that the only bad thing in one of your posts was being over full :) made me giggle. Glad you're feeling better, but you don't seem to have taken it very easy!!!!

Amanda- yay for your new time. It will look beautiful on your new certificate!

Jim- any news on your back?? Hope you're doing ok.

Me- I am registered!!!!! Doing the wine and done half yay. Bit surprised they have the 5k on the same day, my mum would have done it with me if it weren't for silly timing and it would've been great for her :( .......let the training begin. Could do with hitting some 10k races soon but with slight niggle in my achilles still I'm trying to take it slowly! Wahoooooooo back running Disney :) :) :)

Me- I am registered!!!!! Doing the wine and done half yay.

Hopefully that not some foreshadowing of how you think the evening is going to go :rotfl2: . Congratulations on getting registered.

Well I ended up getting out 2 days this week during spring break. Sunday and Friday. I did a 2 mile stroll on Sunday. Yester I walked 1 1/2 miles and did a very relaxed run :05/Walk :55 on the way back. Things felt pretty good but I feel like I'm starting completely over again.

I did some looking at the one race I still have on the calendar, the inagural RNR Cleveland half marathon in October. The bad news is the race is non transferable so I can't legally sell my bib to someone else. The good news is it has a 5 hour time limit for the half. That's almost a 23:00 mile. So, If I can continue to get health and build my distance up, I don't need to worry too much about pacing.

I shouldn't have posted anything.

Had another (trip+fall=face plant) yesterday afternoon with just one week to go for my 70.3. :confused3

Jeremy- starting out is a pain but at least you'll progress quickly :) ha ha for my typo- my phone likes to change at least one word a day!

John- so sorry that you fell! Bad me for commenting on it. Are you ok?

Kate-I am hurting for sure. Went for a swim yesterday with bad outcome. Rested today so I will try for an easy 1,000 yards tomorrow. If it is not raining I will then do a bike ride and easy jog, I HOPE!

John ~ hope your feeling better!

Jeremy~ congratulations on getting out, sorry your feeling like it's starting all over again

Kate~ Congrats on getting signed up for Wine and Dine! I don't know why this race doesn't interest me.

As for me~ I took last weekend off- I think 12 miles in 4 days (less than 3 weeks past Princess) was probably just too much to soon for my knee. Yesterdays 4 miles felt pretty good so I'm keeping my run 4 walk 1 ratio for now (along with KT tape on the knee and increasing potassium in my diet) and hoping to get under 3 at Indy in May

I hope everyone is feeling better!

I'm training for the More Magazine Women's Half on April 14th. Training is going pretty well.
It looks like I'm going to miss both fall Disney races this year. We have booked a trip to Hawaii for Thanksgiving! :woohoo: It'll be the first major holiday since we lost my mom so we're bringing my step-dad and meeting my step-sister and her family out there. Should be fun!

Amanda

Hey Warriors!

Not much to report lately. Working on the Tri training, but schedule & weather is conspiring against me a lot lately. Haven't been in the pool in a couple of weeks, and the back is conspiring against me, but pushing through regardless.

Hopefully I'm getting on the bike tomorrow, weather permitting. I've been spending a lot of time on the spinny machine of boring death lately....and it is not fun. Booooooooooooooooooooooring.

Finally getting into the new Ortho the middle of next month!! Hopefully the third opinion will be one that I like. Can't afford to pay for a fourth!

I checked the price for the Wine and Dine. All I can say is :eek::eek::eek: !!!! That. Price. Is. Ridiculous!! Still probably doing it, but the frequency of Disney Races is definitely going to decrease. The Florida 70.3 is less than $200, & Disney collects $175 for a 1/2 M?? Absurd.

Guess that's it for today. Ya'll are all doing great! Keep it up and Stop Falling Down!!

Happy Trails!

Don't you love it when you get out for a run you didn't expect to have outdoors and it's sooooo great! Today a friend posted on Facebook about running outside (it was in the low 20's here over night and still not 32 when I went out) so I decided if she could do it so could I (at least there was not much wind) and had a great run. 4 miles faster and smoother than I know I've done on the road in ages (at least 5 yrs). It's makin' me think maybe I should run in the cold more often. (I'm a wuss and run on an indoor track most of the winter.)

I hope you all have that kind of great run this weekend.

Pam-That great run comes very rarely for many. Glad you had it and hope you have many more.

Amanda-Just remember what April brings for the flowers in May. Be prepared. ;) Glad the training is going well. Bet you wish it was Thanksgiving already.

JimB-May is coming quickly so keep the training going. Hope the back gets straightened out soon.

AFM, I made it through my 70.3 without drowning or falling during the bike and run. The wind was gusting 20+mph and almost blew me over a number of times while biking. Overall it was GREAT for my first 70.3 after doing the 2 Sprints. My body is slightly tired today but I will hit the bike tomorrow.

Training starts for IMFL after seeing a new ortho about my right shoulder. Still thinking about doing Haines City in May.

Stay healthy all.

John- way to go on your 70.3 and mostly in terms if not falling or tripping or having any new ouchiness!!! Slight tiredness is pretty blinking impressive ;)

Amanda- sad you're not going to be at the fall races, but a holiday in Hawaii sounds like a pretty good excuse. How lovely that you're taking you're step dad and meeting family out there. That will be a wonderful break I'm sure.

Jim- I think the wine and dine price is a rip off. i know it includes the party, but given that I'll still be on UK time and the race will be starting at 3am in my brain who knows what state I'd be in if I stayed for much of the party! Sorry you're having to contend with the dull stationary bike :( hope you get back in the pool soon, splashing is fun!!!!

Pam- loved reading about your happy run. Made me smile :)

Me- achilles is getting there, had to get a 10k done for a charity on a treadmill as I'd agreed to fill that day and they're aiming for 365 different runners over the yr. it went ok, just feels like achilles has a clothes peg on or something! Outdoors 3 miles is killing me! :-| I am really liking the onRunning shoes though so we'll see if I can train happy this year!

Keep warrioring on!

Kate-take good care of that, Achilles. (to the tune of Bobby Vee's, Take Good Care of My Baby)

I got 25 miles on the bike today with winds 25+. Good workout.

Almost ready to pull the trigger for Haines City. Just another 70.3.....:rotfl:

CONGRATS John!!!!
Sorry about the achilles Kate. Feel better.

Training still going well. Long run on Saturday and then taper. I've also been doing an 8 week Boot Camp program (it's week 3) so I've been doing strength training 2-3 days a week. I feel like I'm running faster already! So - weather and other random events aside - I'm hoping for a PR on April 14th.

I'm totally conflicted about January Marathon Weekend at Disney. Originally I was going to sit this one out but then I decided to miss the fall races at Disney. So I was thinking of "just" doing the Full Marathon. But the 10k interests me and the Dopy is, well, intriguing. I think after all my Goofy training injuries I'm going to either sign up for the full or the 10k + full. What are the rest of the Warriors planning?

Amanda

I have three UN-official Dopey weekends in a row so I will keep the series going. Also hoping they do not change the Marathon course so I can grab another McFlurry. I'm pretty sure I was the ONLY Dopey person to due so this year but maybe next year there might be more.

Are you doing the official Dopey then?

YUP! Interesting thing is that I made FW reservations for Wed. to Tues. for Marathon Weekend next year instead of the usual Thurs. to Monday that I have been doing.

Last night Kathy registered me for the IM 70.3 in Haines City in May. Guess I'm really hooked. Road 36 miles and jogged 4.3 miles today with swimming tomorrow.

You're amazing! I hope to have half of your endurance and energy at some point in time....
I have a long run tomorrow.

See ya there!

I'm into the "one long brick a week" stage of training. 7 weeks out and I have not swam hardly at all. Bleh. But what the heck. I doubt my swim can get any slower...........

Also on the calendar: Mount Dora 1/2M (off road) in June. That's probably the last "real" race till fall. Then ToT, W&D, Space Coast, Marathon weekend 10K + 1/2M (& that may be it for Disney races. The price point is getting pretty unreasonable, IMHO). Celebration 1/2 in Jan '14. Melbourne 1/2. Then I will have to get another job to replenish the "Pay to sweat Excessively" account ;)

Wow! You're another one who's amazing!
At least your travel costs are less than many of us...
