Walt is DEAD and so are his ideas

I think that, if you examine the history of Disney, Walt made decisions in 1980 that were different than the ones he made in 1940. Technology was different, and what people would accept was different.

What Would Walt Do in 2006? Not what he did in 1936.

I agree. It wasn't meant to be stagnant, but evolving. I also feel it was meant as a conscience check. I think if Walt were alive, we would have seen comercialism but on a narrower scale compared to the rampant commercialism that is such a part of every attraction today. I also think that there were more perks for resort guests when Ron Miller (SIL) was in charge. Think about the mints on everyone's beds, the complimentary coffee in the lobbies, the mints with the check at Epcot restaurants, the complimentary ride we got when DS #2 was sick at the Polynesian Resort 23 years ago.....I could go on and on. Eisner brought some good business ideas but he also got overly ambitious with "diversification" and took his eye off of the ball.
