I finally made my decision and booked the Swan for my June trip. The AP rate was amazing. now time to dig into this thread.

Quick ?-- is the balance due at checkin or before?

depends on the terms of your rate. Typically you pay the first night as a deposit, and then pay the balance when you arrive/checkout/etc.

Balance is due when you checkout, but they do put a hold on funds on your credit card each day.

UPDATE. Probably no one really cares, but just in case, if you have issue with these properties updating your stays and points after the initial 10 business days, file a "missing stay." Ours was corrected the following day.

Just be vigilant to make sure they add the stay and points.

FWIW, Swan Reserve is the best at updating without asking. Swan and Dolphin are about the same. Both of those resorts we had to report "missing stays."

I’ve not checked the timing, but I have always gotten the points posted from the Swan stays. I’m not in a hurry to get them posted, though, because my status is quite lowly. I can understand those who are working on moving up a status level wanting them within the 10 days.

We needed them to keep status for the upcoming year. Didn't want to take chances. They finally got the points correct too. Originally they gave us 1450 points for our 2 day stay.

Oof. I’m really bad about keeping track of stay points but having had a couple Dolphin stays this year I’m gonna make time for an account audit….

We have 3 nights at Pop, then 5 nights at Swan, and want to make sure I can book LLMP for the full trip when the 7 day window opens. I know it has worked that way for full Disney resort split stays, so just want to check and make sure the S/D work the same way, assuming the Swan stay is properly logged in the MDE app and all that.

Was also considering using a reward night for the first night of the Swan stay, and the way Marriott works for me, the reservations would then be 3 Pop, 1 Swan, 4 Swan, but if it has a chance of messing things up, I'll just use the reward night for something else.

Just did this today for a stay starting with Beach Club and then moving to Swan. It worked just fine to do the whole trip. A few days before your 7-day window, you can go into the app and try buying LLMP for one of the days for your Swan stay. It will tell you what day you're eligible to book that day and it should be the same date as for your Pop days. I would think using a reward night would not be an issue (you'd have 3 confirmation numbers in MDE) but there's always the risk they can't keep you in the same room.

Yes your Swan stay just needs to be "Linked" in MDE and there will be no issues. Disney does not care about split stays for anything but ADR dining reservations.

No issues this will work just fine. Again make sure both of your Swan reservations are "Linked" on MDE. You can perform this "Link" using the Main Menu Screen in MDE. The 3 horizontal bars on the lower right of each major screen. Then scroll down until you see the "Hotel Reservations" link. Under the Resort Reservation enter each of your Confirmation numbers and your Last Name on your Reservation.

We recently did 1 night at Pop, then 4 nights at Swan. Had no problem booking LLMP at the 7 day window for all the days we wanted.

I did know about the delay, I've never had any issues at Dolphin after waiting a few days, but the Swan ones did have to get resent as they never automatically went through. It was very easy to text S&D though, so I was glad that was an option vs calling!

I can’t answer your specific question.

But I had an relevant experience with the vouchers recently. I was staying at the Swan. I used a voucher one day at Java and they took off $20 for items purchased by my wife and I together. We went to Rosa Mexicana at the Dolphin another day and got the continental breakfast buffet ($19.99). They said that one voucher covered both of our buffets, for a $40 value. When asked, the server said the vouchers were worth more “over here”. Maybe she was joking; I don’t know. But we went back another day and got the full buffet and they took $40 off the bill with one voucher. Maybe it works that way in one of the sit down restaurants in the Swan too; I don’t know.

And by the way, we really liked Rosa’s. We thought the food was fresh and a nice variety and the service was consistently warm and friendly. I highly recommend it if you have the time.

I’m not sure but if you ask do report back. I just got back from using them with a group at Amare and they are similar to Rosa in that voucher is good for 2 continental breakfast buffets (any fruit, pastries, breads and oatmeal from the buffet) and coffee/juice or 1 full buffet. If you upgrade to a full buffet for 2 people that also include 2 specialty coffees (latte, cappuccino, etc).

The SR vouchers were odd in that they all listed checkout day instead of my Dolphin vouchers which were assigned days.

Definitely agree with this! Every time I go to Disney now, I try to find a way to stay at least 1 night at the Dolphin so I can get the breakfast voucher and go to Rosa's! I even got a free birthday mimosa last time I was there.
One thing I think is interesting about the free breakfast is that since I don't order any extras that I would have to pay for I'm not given a bill at all, so I always have to remember to bring cash with me for a tip.
And yes, I realize it would be a lot cheaper to just pay for breakfast rather than paying for a room, but I gotta stay somewhere and I only stay when I can get a good AP rate.

My job description is pretty unique. Every day looks a little different, but most days, you can find me conducting bed science at a Disney hotel, trying to see how much you can really do in the parks in one day, or sharing my honest thoughts on Disney food. I go to Disney World a LOT (and even visit some of Disney’s international parks!), but it’s all to help YOU have a better vacation.

If there’s one thing I’ve gotten comfortable with after all this time in Disney World, it’s how to review a hotel room. I know what little details make a room extra special. I know which resorts have plenty of counter space (and which ones don’t). I even know what kinds of pillows and sheets are the softest. Today, I’m sharing what I’ve learned about Disney beds after visiting EVERY hotel. My findings may surprise you!

Tried to search this thread but couldn't find any info, sorry if it's obvious!
We booked a balcony deluxe guest room, 2 queen beds at the swan for March, where are the balcony rooms located?
Is there a preferred room number to try to request?
We stayed at the swan once before by accident - we had booked a king room at the dolphin and when we checked in they didn't have any king rooms available so they moved us to the swan - telling us it was an upgrade - however the room was on the third floor and all you could see from the balcony was the trees that were right in front!
We book the swan on purpose this time and hope for a better view!
