Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

We are debating staying at the Swan for the first time in September. We found rates that were only $400 more than Pop for 5 nights. Couple of questions on things that would sway our choice. Is the water slide open in the pool or are the paddle boats operating? Also are the park boats operating? I have seen mixed reports on this from other resorts. Thanks everyone.

How do you book the AP rate? On the bongos app or thru Disney?
i have a trip booked on points but may pay cash for those low rates.

OK, so I am pricing the Swan out with the AP discount online and noticed that it's trying to add extra fees for my two children, which appears through some internet sleuthing to be a glitch. I need them to be on the reservations so we can make park reservations for the length of our stay, so if I call to book they won't try to charge me the fees for the kids, right?

Is the room type 2 Queens? I recall having to pay more for my minor daughter years ago when we were in a King room and they charged us for a roll away.

I had the same issue so I called in house reservations and had them add my children at no charge.

Browsing room rates at Swan and Dolphin for October, etc., Traditional rooms at the Dolphin are consistently higher, than the Swan, by about 13%+. Maybe that bartender's info about the Dolphin shutting down after the Labor Day holiday has something to it. I've never noticed this kind of discrepancy, before, and it comes up for rack rates and discounted rates. Are they trying to discourage guests from booking at the Dolphin?

The Friendship boats are not currently running and not solid date when they will start. In the mean time they are running Mears coach buses to/from DHS/Epcot or its a quick walk to either.

This has been an ongoing issue with the Marriott reseveation system, supposedly they fixed it months ago. As mentioned give them a call, they can fix it after or just book you in-house without the issue.

I called Guest services. Water slide at the Grotto Pool is open, Swan paddle-boats are operating. And as Steve said above, the Friendship boats are not running, they are run by Disney. The Mears buses to HS and Epcot are being used in place of the boats.

I have a Dolphin reservation for mid-late September. They wouldn't just outright cancel it, right? They'd move guests to the Swan?
