Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

When I booked I got a confirmation email and it was linked that.

That's strange. I don't have the option on my email confirmation. Oh well, no biggie. We'll just have to stop at the front desk and check in. I was just looking to be able to cut down and save some time so we could get to the MVMCP earlier.

While they don't have a club lounge as a Platinum member you are entitled to free internet. I read previously that they waive the resort fee for Platinum members because the resort fee includes the internet but you should ask to confirm that they're still doing this. You are entitled to an upgrade. You are also entitled to a Platinum welcome amenity. You can choose 500 points, breakfast or local welcome gift. I have no idea what the local welcome gift is but I have read that breakfast is in Fresh and it sounds good. I think if you check flyer talk they have a thread on swan and dolphin and a number of platinum members have posted about their experiences.

Is the free breakfast for platinum members each morning or one morning?

We have never stayed at the Swan resort before but we will be arriving late so I booked one night at the Swan before we move to the BWI CL. I called and booked the one night and paid for it in full but a few weeks later I called again asking for the lowest rate that they had. My new quote was about $50 less which was great but she said they would settle it when we check in and I noticed it never got refunded back to my card. Anyone else do this?

We are headed to the Dolphin for a mid-November trip (husband finally has a conference at Disney!). I've found that the Swan refurb is completed, any updates on the Dolphin?

Thanks to Dan & all others for such an informative thread. I am a Marriott Rewards Platinum member and just linked to my new SPG account. I transferred points and booked a split stay at POFQ and Swan for Easter week. We are looking forward to our first stay in the Epcot area.

Is this free breakfast for just the Platinum member or all guests on the reservation ?
Two people. You can access the continental breakfast at fresh or garden grove. If you want hot food it's an up charge of $8 per person. It's still a deal as garden grove has characters. I would check the schedule though because I seem to think they don't appear every day.

ETA- I just googled the characters and it looks like it's weekends only
  • Saturday Breakfast – Goofy, Pluto
  • Sunday Breakfast – Chip n Dale, Goofy, Pluto

Well I was looking at the Gartner schedule for the days we will be at the Swan.

I dont think we will have any issues because they have their yoga and jogs before we get up, they have their own breakfast meetings and the only prob I could think of is if lots of people are going to their rooms at the same time - waiting for an elevator.

Dont know when that huge outside tent event is, if they are having that - I know someone posted that picture a while back.

If you have been there during the conference did you encounter any issues - just want to be prepared.

I posted a picture of the tent at one point. This is not an "event" location but rather where they serve lunches/snacks for some of the symposium participants. :headache:

Is anyone still able to book Swan or Dolphin using SPG points? When I click, Choose Your Rate, SPG Cash and Points all dates are blacked out.

That makes no sense and it can't be a Swan/Dolphin thing. There are no resort stay requirements of any sort to book an ADR. Locals who never plan to stay on site can book ADR. They just can't book the 180+10.

Same thing is happening to me now. Only started AFTER I linked my Swan reservation. Can't do anything with dining- gives me the "paws" message. UGH!!!

Quick question, as I am booking *right now*. We are a family of five booking 7 nights at the Dolphin. Do king rooms have pull out sofas? We have a little who will sleep with mom and dad in the king. The other two are teens who would probably sleep in a pull out and a rollaway or an airbed. I tend to think king rooms work better for us because they are more spacious in the daytime. Can anyone confirm a pull out sofa? Thanks!

Nevermind! It was giving me an option to use points for a king room but now it is not. Oh well!

I'm pretty sure you're only allowed 3 in a king room. Did you know that you can only see standard rooms online? You can call and book upgraded rooms on points. The next level up is I think 1000 points more per night.

Yeah, I realized after I saw it that I had gotten logged out and my search was for just 1 adult. My husband is going to call to see what else they have available. We might also just stick with the standard room and try for an upgrade (paid or otherwise) at check-in. I always prefer rooms with king beds because they have a little more floor space, which is nice during the day. But free is free, and I'm not complaining!

Yet another parking question....sorry! We will be staying for our first time in a few weeks. I understand parking is $20 a day, but is that with in/out privelages? Thank you!

Yes, you have in/out privileges. And the $20 is also plus tax, so probably about 21-22.
