How do you go about having milk for the kids?
I could ship the shelf stable stuff from amazon (24 for 12/11 ounce bottles), or buy it a the screen door general store, which one is cheaper?
I read that because I am going with a conference group rate I don't have access to the pantry service at the swan, is that true?
leaving on monday....

I'm pretty sure anyone can use the pantry service. You can also buy milk at picabu. They have mini cereal boxes and Advil and crackers and stuff like that too. There's also a little grocery on the boardwalk and there's a gas station across the street from boardwalk hotel. For reference Boardwalk hotel is beside the swan. We get the swan to arrange our transfer from the airport to the hotel and they include a 30 minute grocery stop. They'll stop wherever you want on the way. We stopped at Walmart one time and publix the next time. We wanted muffins and fruit and granola bars (that type of thing) for the kids and so we could eat breakfast in out room. There is a large closet with shelves where you can store boxes of cereal and fruit snacks or whatever and each room has a mini fridge.

Does anyone know if the sandtastic event is just for swan dolphin guests? i went back and forth between swan and AKL (renting points)....wish i would've known about this event before i booked!! oh well maybe next year...do they do it every labor day weekend?

The beach is in an area that is publicly accessible so I would assume that anyone could check it out.

Staying at the Dolphin Nov 13-18 with starwood points. My husband's starwood points finally came through for the 11th and 12th but now the Swan and Dolphin have no availability so I have to get a Disney room for two nights. Was thinking Caribbean Beach for the price and proximity to the dolphin. Anyone have experience with transferring stuff from a disney resort to the swan? Do you just get Uber to take your luggage and stuff over?

I would agree.

I have not personally transferred resorts, but have read here many times of others doing it. Disney will transfer luggage to S/D and S/D will transfer luggage to Disney.

I was thinking of booking the Dolphin for next June. However, I've seen some negative reviews stating that there was currently construction and that some of the rooms smelled of mildew. two questions:
1) what is the construction happening at the hotel? and when is it done?
2) has anyone had any problems with mildew smelling rooms?

One of my children has asthma, so the mildew would be an issue. I'm hoping that if there was a problem with moldy carpets, the construction will be taking care of that?

Any insight is appreciated.

Thank you!

I don't know the dates for the construction. I did have a mildew-smelling room a couple of years ago. I never did or said anything about it, so don't know what they would have done to rectify it, but I'm guessing they would have fixed the situation or moved me. I also have asthma and whatever it was didn't start up my asthma.

I believe the Swan has completed their renovations and the Dolphin is still working on theirs.

Looking at food options while at Dolphin. Is the Shulas Lounge just a casual place my husband and I can just go find a seat and each just get the Double Baked Potato that sounds so good with a beer?

I think you'll find casually dressed people everywhere at Disney so I think it's ok.

Sorry didn't explain myself good. Just wondering if this is what I thought it was. Not like a real restaurant but more like a lounge where I could just get a little something from the Shulas menu without having to eat in the main restaurant and not having to order a whole bunch of food. We don't bring any fancy clothes to Disney, lol.

That makes sense. I think you're right about the atmosphere. You might see people trying to dress a little more smartly but I've seen people in short and socks with sandals even in the nicest restaurants so I think you will be fine.

Anywhere to watch sports in the Swan or the Dolphin? Somewhere that would have the NFL Package?

I don't watch sports but I bet that ESPN place on the boardwalk would be a very good place to watch sports.
Yes ESPN is the back up plan but if me and the kids are swimming trying to find my husband some place in house to watch. Weird that these two large hotels have no sports bar.
