Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Has anyone cancelled and booked a new Swan/Dolphin reservation after making FP+ reservations? I'm concerned that something could go wrong on MDE with existing Fastpasses when I cancel my original Swan reservation (since the reservation # I have on MDE will no longer be valid). I think I'll call Disney before I cancel the original.

Rate alert for December travelers: I just got a rate of $114/night at Swan for mid-December (booked online as they couldn't find the rate when I called. It was under "Limited Time Offer")

Thats the dates I am looking at now too.

When we were there last week they told me they wouldnt have any rooms available for the dates I really wanted because of a conference.

It's a little later than I am used to going, so we will see if it all works out.

Good luck! We were hoping to go in early December but the resorts seemed to be completely booked up so we ended up pushing it forward a week.

Hi All!! New to this thread and really appreciate all of the information posted. We just booked a stay for 4 (2 Adults, 2 kids who will be 7 and 4) at the Swan from 5/28 - 6/4 using points. My husband has Platinum status and I was curious to see if the platinum benefits are similar to other Sheraton properties....specifically around breakfast. I called the front desk to ask, but the person I talked to seemed really confused. It sounds like we will get 2 vouchers per day for continental breakfast but can pay a fee to upgrade to full buffet. Here is my question -- do we have to use 2 vouchers for day or can we save them and use 4 at once (since there are 4 of us)? I just want to make sure I understand correctly before finalizing ADRs at other places. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks so much!

Does anyone have any other economical recommendations for returning to MCO from Swan in addition to Uber? My son's girlfriend will need a way back to the airport at around 5:30 am and DS isn't sure he is comfortable sending her alone via Uber.

Can you take magic express to the dolphin? If yes, can you if you booked from a nondisney site?

FP+ reservations are generally linked to the ticket and should not be influenced by your reservations. At worst, you may not be able to change the reservations between 60-30 days before check-in, since now you will be considered "offsite".

Thanks for the response! It took about 24 hours for the old Swan reservation to be removed from MDE (after a call to Disney during which they called the Swan) and then I was able to input the new confirmation number. There wasn't any impact to the Fastpasses.

What time do the boats start running? Trying to figure out best way to HS from Swan for a PPO ADR. Park opens at 9 and ADR is at 8.

The boats start running about an hour before park opening. So I don't think you'll be able to take the boat and make your ADR. I would either walk, it should take about 15-20 minutes depending on your pace. A taxi or Uber is your only other option.

I'd call the hotel. They offer a family deal with a second connecting room at a discount, so you should ask about that! It may end up that you cancel one room and rebook it this way. I've done this a couple of times, as we've really outgrown all 4 sharing one room. The second room was very cheap.

This is one thing I like that Disney doesn't offer which is connecting rooms being a bookable category.

Sadly I don't think this is an option for us based on how the rooms were booked. Our room was booked through Expedia and my parents used Cash + Points. I don't think they can make any updates to our room based on booking through a third party. Fingers crossed they can accommodate us at check-in, hopefully my dad's SPG status will help our case :)

I would still call and ask them to put your request in your reservation. Not guaranteed, just a request. Also use the concierge link I have posted here several times to express your request.

I will certainly try both options, thank you! I wasn't sure if we were better off waiting until check-in or calling ahead of time. Sounds like you are much better versed in this than I so I'll definitely have my dad (the SPG member) call since he has the better reservation and status. Thanks again!
