I see they've announced the grotto pool is closed from December 15 to 20th for refurbishment. Anyone know exactly what they are doing? Anything new, or just maintenance?

Folks here might not see me for a number of days. On my way this morning for a knee replacement, 3 days in hospital, up to 2 weeks in rehab nursing home. Then outpatient PT for a couple months. Maybe won't have to rely on scooter in future trips. I'm sure I will be checking in here now and then, just less for some time in the near future.

Dan, I hope the surgery went well and you are now at the rehab facility. Do everything they tell you and don't be in a hurry to go home! My mom was too anxious leave rehab, and fell and broke her arm the same day she returned home!

here at the swan now & boy is it packed! I got a new renovated room & its very nice! the weird 1 complaint? the lighting in the bathroom is TOO bright! a nice upgrade from the other rooms tho! defiantly try to request these if you ever can!

The resort credit was nice, we had two rooms so a $100 credit in total. Another person suggested we dine at the pool bar our first night in before heading over to HS for eve. emh (rather than walking to Big River Grill). Worked out perfectly, our bill for drinks and 4 meals was right around $100 but it was quick, easy and really pleasant to sit outside by the pool just off the plane from cold Michigan. Good use of the credit. We did eat at Fresh our last day so could have used it there too.

We are staying at YC but I have read about the S/D restaurants being really great. Does anyone know if we can send out kids to the kids club there at S/D while we eat even if we are not resort guests?

Yes, you can use camp dolphin even if you're not staying here. The first 2 hours are free if you dine at any s&d restaurant.

We LOVE shulas! You'll just need to bring back your dining receipt when you pick up your kids. They reccommend pre registering your kids for camp dolphin, we have done it before from the in room phone. I would call the swan & dolphin directly and register them thru guest services? Not sure of the phone number. My kids love it!

I did read that you are supposed to have a 9 digit confirmation number, but I have one that has 7 numbers and one that has 11. This is my first time booking with them. I have used Orbitz before without any issues connecting the reservations.

Do I have to call Travelocity for the correct number or can I just call the Dolphin?

Hi all, can anyone give me some advice (step-by-step idiots guide) on how to use the in-room coffee maker please? On our last stay, I tried several times but the water kept flowing straight through and I know I must have been doing something wrong. I know some of you here have stayed several times and can probably do it in your sleep, so I am hoping that somebody, from memory, can explain it to me.

Thanks - I tried that and the person was unable to assist me. She said she could only see the 7 digit confirmation number and was unable to do anything with it. I guess I will try calling the Dolphin directly. If that doesn't work, I guess I will just re-book it with Orbitz. It's the same rate.

Oh, I got them to email me the confirmation and the 12 digit number was on that email.

Now I really need to get this fixed! We decided spur of the moment to take a trip for New Year's. The rate at the Dolphin was the same price as a value! If I can't book my fast passes at 60 days, it will not be good.

Seriously, try the online chat again - tell her you have lost your confirmation details and ask if she can email it to you - it's worth a go

Hey, Dan,

Hang in there. I don't know if you will need this tip or not, but we when we went to WDW in July, I was 9 weeks post-op on ACL reconstruction. I took one of those canes with a seat on it, like golfers use. It was great. Walking through crowds, I had a little extra stability and in lines, I could sit down. I bought mine from Academy Sports and Outdoors for $20. My husband says he is taking one next time we go.
