Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Do you know if they will clean the room more often than once every 4 days? We are there 6 nights and are gonna need towels, shampoo, etc. Also, are the pool towels by the pool or check out from the room?
We stayed at the Swan May 2nd-9th and had excellent full-service housekeeping every day.

Okay - issue has been fixed. My phone is set to automatically use Microsoft edge as the browser. And even though I went to privacy settings and cleared everything it still wouldn't work. I switched to Samsung Internet and same thing - wouldn't work. The IT guy had just sent me a link by itself and said "use this in Chrome". Chrome works, so I will give him props for helping with that.

So for anyone else with a Samsung - use Chrome only if you want the mobile order to work.

Re: the $5.00 charge - I haven't eaten anywhere on property more than once a day yet...so I haven't reached that $5.00 mark to even know. Both yesterday and today the Picabu service charge was around $1.96.....
I think I was the person who put the original post in about this not working. I have a OneNote 8, which is an Android. My phone is set to default to Chrome as the browser and I know for a fact it does since I'm always looking stuff up. Swan/Dolphin App. still doesn't work. I'll be at the Swan in August so will continue to play/fight/scream with it to see if I can get it to work. Evidently, they didn't count on the OneNote phone.

Hi,

I just have a quick question about the Dolphin's deposit refund policy. I recently cancelled a stay at the Dolphin for this upcoming Dec. I had made the reservation in a way that stated the policy was that i had up to 5 days before the stay to cancel and receive refund of the deposit they charged. I cancelled last Thursday (5 days ago) and still have yet to have the deposit refunded to my credit card.

Is it normal for the refund to take this long to post? Usually I see them post withing a couple of days.

Just curious if any one here had any thoughts on how long I should wait before calling Marriott.

Thanks.

I had a delayed refund on a canceled Swan reservation last year. I called the Swan and was given an e-mail address to contact (I think it was the accounting department). I did so and had the refund in a day or two.

ETA - Here's some information from a reply I made back in January about this same issue: (I think it was accounting@swandolphin.com but am not 100 percent sure - you'll get an auto-reply that your message was received it it's correct), sent my details (reservation number, stay dates, date of deposit, last few digits of the credit card used, cancellation date and cancellation number)...

We are booked at swan Fourth of July weekend. We had one night on points and one night cash so two reservations. Anyone have trouble lately purchasing individual lightening lane at 7am? Literally the only reason we are staying on property. We can book all star movies for same price

I had no issues last week.

I was 100% successful with ILLs at 7am when we stayed at the Swan earlier this month.

It was a few years ago but took over a month to get my deposit refunded.

Coming back to follow up on my experience with staying at the Dolphin and buying G+. I mentioned the first morning I was unable to purchase until exactly 7am. I visited GR to see if they knew why or how to fix it. My reservations were still in MDE. They had no idea why it happened and said to try and take a screen shot of the issue the next time it happens. It didn't happen again, which is good. The only thing I can think of is that we had connecting reservations at Dolphin. 1 night and then 4 nights. All reservations stayed linked but maybe something internally got messed up. Our room keys also deactivated that day even though our stays were linked together.

Boat service was frequent and we utilized the Mears bus to AK. Leaving AK we had a bit of a wait and there is no where that really indicates where the pick up is so it's a little confusing. We had a less than stellar experience with the Dolphin this trip from start to finish and in the midst of it we said "never again". Now that we are removed from it we will see if we change our mind. But I found it incredibly difficult to get ahold of anyone at the resort before our stay which was problematic because we had a room type that the main call center could not handle, not even something as simple as a date change. When we arrived they had booked us twice with two confirmation dates. Our original dates and our modified dates. Unbeknownst to me they had given each res it's own confirmation number. Only one showed up in the app for me, the correct one. And the woman at the check-in desk kept saying to me "but you did book these dates (original)" not understanding that yes we did, and I called later to modify them. Even after showing her the confirmation email that had our correct (most recent) dates she still was alluding to us being charged for cancelling the other reservation day of. Which would have been ridiculous since the date changes occurred two months prior and the mistake was on their end. Marriott properties are always spoken so highly of but I the amount of time I spend just trying to get ahold of someone at in-house reservations made it not worth it to us to stay there again even with it being less expensive than the Disney deluxe resorts. I don't know if anyone else has every experienced this or had issues. Maybe we were the outliers. We stayed in a King alcove + standard room booked as one large room (one resort fee).
We just got back from the Dolphin 5/26/22. Not sure if I will stay again. Resort was beautiful. Had trouble with transportation. We took a bus from MK to Yacht Club and got stuck in the sprinklers trying to get back into Dolphin. The room did not get cleaned.

Booked July 4th week at Dolphin a while ago. First trip with toddler. Know all the pros and cons of staying in one of these two hotels. However just seeing a price drop where I can get Swan at same price now. I know the major difference is the bigger beds which we would like but can anyone tell me anecdotally if switching to Swan would be the better move. For instance is it closer to the walking path than the Dolphin or vice versa. The beds matter but convenience with the little one matters most.

Also, I have all my plans set already...would it even be possible to switch hotels right now without ruining everything on MDE? I know Disney tech is shaky and that's all I need right now to lose all the reservations I've made! Thanks.

The Swan is closer to the walking paths. Just stayed there last week and loved it. Other than having to re-link your reservation it shouldn't affect anything in MDE. Your dining reservations are not linked to your hotel.

That's more than enough reason to switch. I'm still nervous about unlinking then relinking hotel. Since I got my dining at 60+10 will they still honor that when I cancel my current resort? Of course I'll link the new one but Disney tech always has me worried.

No change for ADRs. They are tired to you and a credit card and once assigned they are locked in unless you go out of your way to make a change.

As @Dave006 mentioned, you don't have to worry at all about your ADRs. You could cancel your hotel outright and you'd still have your ADRs. When I canceled two previous trips after having my ADRs, I had to go in and individually cancel each one after I canceled my hotel. We absolutely loved the convenience of walking to the parks from the Swan.

One other question before switching. I know the Dolphin large pool is the one to go to but is it a very far walk to get there from Swan compared to staying at Dolphin? Also reading reviews online I thought for sure it would be a slam dunk for the Swan over Dolphin but many prefer Dolphin. Giving me second thoughts. Although just for the queen beds alone I think I'm going to have to switch.

Walking to the Dolphin lap pool is a shorter distance from the Dolphin, longer from the Swan. Conversely, walking to the Swan lap pool from the Swan is a shorter distance from the Swan, longer from the Dolphin.

As for the larger main Grotto pool area, that is equidistant from both hotels, unless maybe you have a patio room on the west end of the Dolphin. If you are mid to east end of the Dolphin, it can be a hike to the Grotto complex. Not so much the Swan.

That map actually clarifies a lot thank you!

And just to hear your opinion...which do you prefer and why?

QWH is the annual passholder code
Buying an annual pass and using this code would be cheaper than what I'm currently paying for a room and the 9 day tickets I'm purchasing separately. But it seems Disney isn't selling any passes at this time for out of state residents? Am I correct in seeing that? Therefore there's no way to use the AP code then I'm assuming? I never had a reason to look into APs...why are they not selling them and is there any plan to bring them back?
