Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

my MDE still says we are staying at Swan Reserve, that reservation stayed on my account even though it was cancelled and rebooked at the Swan.
Your update would only be reflected in MDE if the person making your reservation change from the Swan Reserve pushed the change to Disney and that usually is an overnight batch change or longer on a weekend.

This happens often when they make a local resort reservation change between the Swan & Dolphin, and now the Swan Reserve. It really does not matter which one as long as one of them shows in MDE.

Since we were staying on free night certs, they made us cancel and rebook ourselves. The email telling me to rebook said this -
Your confirmation number from your original reservation remains active and therefore, any theme park or other reservations made through the MyDisneyExperience app will remain intact.

I just never bothered to add my Swan reservation since the Swan Reserve one still showed. I was afraid something would get screwed up.

Fun Update... Got bored so I called the Swan to try this again. It's comical how many different answers you get...

When I called last month, they gave me a DIFFERENT number to try than what I saw in my Marriott account... that did nothing... So I gave up at the time.

First call today, they transfer me to Marriott's MAIN reservation line... they had no idea what I was talking about... they transferred me to the wrong place. I realized it immediately when the person answered... Wasted 10 minutes on hold.

I call back, they transfer me to IN HOUSE reservation line... this agent said that they would re-send my reservation to Disney and to try again in 24 hours. She had no clue what I was talking about with this "alternate number" I was given a month ago... but was very adamant that the reservation number I see in my Marriott account should work tomorrow after 24 hours.

This is madness... 🤣 And I only care about this linkage if this is the way they monitor early entry. If it is not... then this is just a royal waste of time anyways because I don't need to see my hotel in MDE to know where I'm staying! LOL!
Ladies and gentlemen... I HAVE LINKED MY RESERVATION! So when I spoke to the Swan in-house reservations team on Thursday I specifically asked if my issue could possible be that my Swan Reservation used my shortened first name. And that the MDE account used my full first name. I was told absolutely not, that could not be the issue. And so I proceeded to of course wait the 24 hours like they said and my linking again failed... My Marriott account has always used my nickname, dating back 15+ years - I never though it to be an issue until today although truthfully I should've fixed it long ago.

Well today, I decided that this must be the issue. So when I got connected to in-house reservations at Swan, I again brought up this issue. And this time... the lady I spoke to immediately said "Yes, that could totally be your issue." She then updated the name on my reservation and said it should re-send my confirmation to Disney too. I also then called Marriott to officially update my name on my Bonvoy account. Well... I didn't have to wait 24 hours this time... It was <10 hours and boom, I attempted to link and was successful!

So in case this helps anybody else having linking issues... Make sure that your First Name and Last Name on both your Swolphin AND MDE accounts match! Otherwise, you will have issues linking a Swan & Dolphin reservation to your MDE account.

I'm glad I got this figured out as it seems this might be the easiest way to authenticate for early entry benefit. Before Early Entry came around, I had no real reason to care about linking a Swan reservation to MDE.

Anyone with recent Mandara Spa feedback? I’m thinking about booking a couples massage for me and my husband.

I had problems, several years ago, linking to MDE; the issue was that one account included my M.I., while the other did not. At that time, I asked in-house reservations to fix the middle initial issue, and that took care of the problem. For reservations for others, I was able to make a minor name change to an existing booking, online. This issue seems similar issue to TSA Pre not exactly matching to an airline reservation.

The linking to MDE usually processes overnight, not including weekends. It’s the same old story, I’m afraid, that we are our own best advocate. Congrats on the fix!

Spot on - there is definitely some validation going on between MDE and a reservation file that is sent over. Hopefully this information will help somebody on the thread in the future :) Make sure those names match folks! If I see anybody having issues linking in the future, this will definitely be the first question I ask them... haha!

Yep, this happened with my dad (Robert vs Bob)

I know the bus situation to MK is a little different but as far as dependability of the buses to the other parks, is the Swolphin bus service comparable? Like do they come plenty early for rope drop and run frequently. We always fly in and never rent a car when at a Disney resort, typically ME and then the included bus/boat/Skyliner service. But we definitely want to be there in plenty of time for rope drop and prefer to be head of the pack. Is that possible from the Swolphin? I realize Using yacht club is also a possibility.

The swolphin busses drop off at the ttc. Where as if you take the boardwalk bus you will be at the gates.

Hi Folks! It's been about ten years since I stayed at the Dolphin and I just have a few knowledge up to date questions.
1. Is it true that the Swan and Dolphin busses drop off at the TTC?
2. Any word on the 60+ issue being fixed if you stay at the Reserve? Meaning can book online vs phone.
3. In order to get the boat to Epcot or DHS or other Boardwalk area resorts from the Swan Reserve - do you walk over to the Swan to take that boat? And if so, how far is the walk - I have someone coming with mobility issues - scooter etc so I need to figure that one out.
4. Has anyone stayed in the two bedroom suite at the Swan Reserve? Wanting to know the layout and the size of the living area that exists outside of the two bedrooms.

Thank you!

Just an FYI, nobody has ever stayed at the Swan Reserve... it's not open yet :)

I can answer half of your questions...
1. Yes, the buses are no longer Disney buses and you will be dropped off at TTC. A lot of people walk over to the Boardwalk or Yacht Club and catch their buses for MK.
3. The boat ramp is located between the Swan and Dolphin. It's not that far from the lobbies - just a couple minutes for an able-bodied person. It's an easy walk - very level. My parents have rollaters and were fine with it. They did have trouble with walking to the BW to catch those buses though even when taking the boat to get over there.

Good morning,
My travel agent is looking into the Dolphin for me and found me a great rate for a 2 bedroom. She said it is "2 bedrooms with a room in the middle" but not a traditional suite. Does anyone have experience with this type of room or know what it would be called? I'm trying to google a floorplan of photos but having no luck. TIA

It could be a Grand Suite with a connecting King bedroom on one end and connecting Double/Double bedroom on the other end. The parlor in between the bedrooms has a sleeper sofa, bathroom, and wet bar. The bedrooms can be closed off with connecting doors. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Some Grand Suites have balconies.

Grand Suite

So after going back and forth and round and round I ended up back at the Dolphin. Does anyone have pictures of what the Deluxe alcove connector rooms look like?

Hi everyone. I apologize if this info is in this thread, but I searched and can't seem to find a definitive answer. We are checking into the Swan this weekend and then transferring to VGF. Will the Swan transfer our luggage to VGF? Or are we better off booking lyft/uber and transferring our luggage on our own. Thank you so much for any info you have!
