Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

OTAs have the same first availability at the Reserve for check-in on 09.23.2021, as does Marriott’s site. Travelocity shows that only suites are available, including a nightly room rate for the Presidential Suite of about $2000, which includes the Reserve’s nightly resort fee of $39.

Travelocity displays the minimum number of each type of room that is available for booking.

Typical available rooms, as of right now:

Is it normal that I can't pay the remainder of my Swan Disney package on the MDE app? I made the reservation over the phone as I called in to talk with them about the cancellation policy. Do I have to call in again to pay the remainder? There's no option to pay for it online.
We had to pay by phone too-couldn't find any possible way to pay via the MDE app.

@Gitelfor that's interesting, when I searched for Aug 24-26 I found you had to pay an extra $27 for it to be fully refundable and that was only refundable by August 19 - still 5 days before arrival. That doesn't seem like much of a deal. That brought the room rate to $269/night for a total of $684. Did I miss something?

Same dates standard booking via Marriott has same room, 5 day window cancellation for a total of $672.75. But if you've got AAA you can get that down to $562.50 with the same cancellation window.

Another note the Travelocity charges $39 for the resort fee per night yet Marriott only charge $35... seems like they are playing some games with the resort fee.

When I price out the identical room/dates at the Reserve for Marriott and Travelocity rack rates, I see the same total, taxes and fees included. It looks like Marriott adds the tax on the room fee to the subtotal, while Travelocity includes the tax with the fee, not adding it on at the end. Either way, the bottom line is the same. Obviously, Marriott offers affinity/promo rates, for those who qualify, not offered by most OTAs. I have edited prior post to reflect the minimum cancellation notice on Travelocity refundable bookings to more than one day.

Again, this was for the Reserve. I did not price out the Swan, which may have been the property quoted in your post.

The first quote is Travelocity, while the second quote is Marriott.

Do stays at the Swan Reserve allow for early resort purchase of the Christmas After Hours event?

So, while super informative, this thread is HUGE. I apologize if this question was already asked, but...

I need to pick up a rental car at the Disney Springs Hilton before 10am (Springs opening time). The busses don't run earlier than that from S/D, correct?

I wonder if the Swan/Dolphin app has that info? (I don't have my phone handy to check.)

I checked. Buses to DS start 15 minutes before opening, 90 minutes after closing. I would be at bus stop 30 minutes before opening.

Are you renting from Avis? Mousesavers has this info about renting from the Hilton Avis location near Disney Springs:

  • Avis has a location at Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista (location LB3) near Disney Springs. Some people have reported that this location was willing to send transportation to pick them up from a local hotel. If not, you can take a Disney bus from any of the Disney resorts to Disney Springs. Get off at the Marketplace stop, then walk across the street to the Hilton. The phone number of the Hilton’s Avis desk is (407) 827-2847.

I don't belive so but you can use the S/D app and text them that question. But IMHO your best bet is to use Uber/Lyft/Taxi unless S/D gets their rental counter open again.

Is this what you are asking about? I would think that the Reserve is included, as well; I consider the three resorts as one complex, sharing all amenities.

Disney Very Merriest After Hours
Tickets for this special event go on sale August 20. Guests of Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort have access to purchase tickets beginning August 17 for event dates that occur during their hotel stay.

Thank you!

Now my next question, has anyone with reservations at Swan Reserve been able to successfully link their reservations in MDE yet? I tried a few months ago and was unable, so I called and was told to call back after they open because no one could access my reservation at Swan or Dolphin yet.
I wasn’t sure if that had changed yet, and I’d like to link my reservation so I can buy tickets early.

Thank you!

I was able to link my Jan reservation.

I made a reservation on July 14th and was able to link it.

I agree with this. I've rented from Hilton before and the walk was fine when the bus stops were in the old place but now I think it would just be more convenient to Uber/Lyft right there.

I wonder if the Swan/Dolphin app has that info? (I don't have my phone handy to check.)

The app just says that busses run 1/2 hour before park opens, so I'm just assuming this is true for DS as well meaning I could probably get a bus between 9 and 9:30.

Yes, I am renting from Avis. I'll call them and see if they do pick-ups. Thanks for the tip!

If they don't offer pick-up I'll probably Uber/Lyft there.

Thank you everyone for the help!
