Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

I can't seem to figure this out. We are arriving early - around 11 am - and I know we can't check in yet. The hotel said they could store our luggage but we plan on making a grocery stop on the way to the Swan to get water and some snacks. Will they store that as well or is it best to bring an extra suitcase and store it in there?
They can place perishables in the fridge as well. I only had medications stored in the fridge.

Was this at the Dolphin or the Swan? The Dolphin told me they could not store my perishables. Fortunately, I had packed a small cooler bag just in case, and our room didn't take too long to be ready.

I always received a nice upgrade as a platinum, along with the free character breakfast at the Garden Grove. This year, we are staying as downgraded to gold. I'm very curious to see if we receive upgrades or not. I know we lose the breakfast benefit since we are no longer platinums. :-(

When are you going? I'm in the same boat and headed there in May. I read Gold gets "enhanced room upgrades" whatever that means.

In the past, Gold status could give you something like a high floor or a resort view (instead of overlooking a roof, parking area, etc.). During normal times, I was upgraded to resort view, resort view with balcony, and even a small suite. I think it is pretty much luck of the draw and timing.

For anyone who has used the AP discount at the Swan/Dolphin, did showing an un-activated AP in the MDE suffice when checking in? We are planning to check in but not actually go to the parks until day 5 of our vaca. This assumes they actually confirmed the AP at all.
We’ve used that discount multiple times since the summer and have never been asked to show our card. We did mobile checkin every time so just went to the front desk to pick up room keys.
I do mobile check-in too and was asked to show my AP when I arrived Sunday.

Posted this in the dedicated thread but thought it might be helpful here as well...
Just back and I can confirm that our luggage was transferred from the CR to the Swan for our split stay. Seemed customary when we dropped it off at the bell desk at the CR.:)
That's fantastic news. I wonder if the reverse would have worked. Hopefully someone here will try and report back!

When we transferred bags from the Swan to a Disney resort, we were told that the transfer was done by a limo driver, which was a different process than from a Disney resort to the Swan or Dolphin. If that is still the case, it sounds like the transfer is controlled by the originating resort, and thus, transfer from Swan/Dolphin is up to the Swan/Dolphin.

Hey y'all - anyone have insight into the pool hours, especially during Covid times? I feel like I saw on some websites that the pools are open 24 hours per day with lifeguards/towel service from 9am - 9pm or something like that, but I was actually shocked the pools would be open 24 hours...can anyone confirm?

Thanks!!

Pools are open 6a-11p. Attendants available 6a-7p M-F and 6a-8p Sat and Sun.

For any information like this, the BEST place to find it is in the Swan Dolphin app. They keep it up to date. Just select I am on property when you load it.

Thank you so much! Silly me didn't even think of checking the app. It's great that they have one specifically for the property. Apprecaite your help!

Apologies for the double post...but one other question for this group! Tried to find it in the app and online but I'm pretty sure I didn't see it listed anywhere. Do any of the convenience-y places at the Swan/Dolphin sell beer/wine to go? As in wine by the bottle or 6 packs of beer to take up to the hotel room?

Yep. Fuel seems to have the best selection between the two resorts however, if you don't see the item you want or need (such as distilled water for a CPAP machine), you can take a quick walk over to the Boardwalk shop and you could find some of those products including Distilled Water. I know that is a biggie for us.
