Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Does anyone have a picture of the cribs they use at the Swan? We are planning a stay in April, 2015. Our DD will be 3 and may likely use the crib. thank you!

UPDATE!!! We just booked the Dolphin for our August trip. Very excited about it.

I just want to thank those who responded with the great information. We were able to get 20% off at http://www.booking.com so with taxes and resort fees added it comes out to only $20 more than our POFQ reservation.

I just know we'll love it there.

Congrats! You'll have a great time...from a fellow Rhode Islander.

Thanks for the welcome Dan. While I have your ear I hope you won't mind giving me a couple of answers.

1) I'd be booking through http://www.booking.com that reservation should be able to be linked to MDE, correct?

2) There are a lot of reviews that say the Dolphin rooms are dirty and tired looking and other complaints. In your opinion are these bad reviews off base and more than likely we should enjoy our stay there?

Thanks in advance.
It should be able to be done, as long as you have a 9 digit confirm number to link.

And as said above several times, I agree. I have never been in a dirty room during my many stays at the Swan nor the several I have had at the Dolphin.

Really? That is weird, I made mine 180+6 this last trip. Glitch in the system, maybe?
With Disney crack IT department:rolleyes:, anything is possible. A good glitch maybe.

I searched Google, could not find any.

That's great, Ron. You will enjoy, for sure.

Does anyone know if you can fill out an allergy information sheet for your child for your dining reservations at Disney while staying at the Swan? I know if you book the room only package and attach restaurant ressies you can. Thank you.

Just booked our first trip to the Dolphin!!:cool1:

I would say you could. You are making the DR's on a Disney site, not the Swan's.

Congratulations, have fun! :cool1:

i would love to know how it goes for you with allergies at the S/D. trying to decide whether to stay there or the BC/YC and the BC/YC menus seem more allergy friendly.

Is there a good place to watch IllumiNations from anywhere around Crescent Lake? Do they play the music anywhere around the lake?

Not really at Crescent Lake by the Swan but by the Boardwalk you would be able to see the parts of Illuminations that are high in the air. Much of it you would not be able to se as it is close to the surface of World Showcase Lagoon. Music is not piped in.

Are there lifeguards at the pools?
9-9.

Hi

I have booked for the dolphin 8th sept for 10 nights, not a newbie to disney but this is my first stay at The Dolphin
I have been lurking and reading all info I.e I have become a member of the Starwood club in the hope of getting an
Upgrade,
2 questions
I have read there is complimentary transport to the premium malls is this still ongoing
I have booked my tickets purchased from the disney site I'm linked in on MDE but wonder how to get a magic band should I wait till I get there ?

I'm sure I will have more but that's it for now

I do not know about complimentary transportation to the malls. For the Magic Band, it can be purchased at the resort. NOt sure where, but probably either the front desk, Disney desk or gift shop.

I've seen promotional packages offered that included complimentary transportation (via Mears, I believe) to the outlet malls, but it's not a perk included with all room rates.

I thought I had our plan all set, but now I am not sure! Here's my question, we will be staying using SPG points. We are considering taking a red eye, landing at MCO at 5:00am. We would then take private transport from the airport to Swan, so arriving at the resort probably by 7:00 at the latest.

Is it possible to check into a room at 7:00am if we have it reserved for the prior night? (Using SPG points so no out of pocket cost for "wasting" that room night)

If we don't reserve a room for the prior night, I know we can store our luggage at Bell Services. Do you think we could use the locker room someone mentioned here previously to freshen up before we head to MK?

Has anyone ever done a red eye, dropped their stuff at Swan/Dolphin then head out to a park without actually going to their room first? I would love to hear your experience. Thank you!

People have previously posted that the health clubs have showers and areas to freshen up if you are leaving later in the day so I'm assuming that would at least be available. I would call the hotel and see what they suggest. Not sure if I would use 10,000 starpoints (or more) just to freshen up...

Magic Bands can be bought in the gift shop at the Swan and Dolphin both. They have the same colors as you can get anywhere else in the parks. You can get them actavated at the gift shop. However I would suggest going to the park to get it linked. It took forever in the Daisy's Garden and didn't work for our son when we hit the MK. We had to go to Guest Relations to get it fixed.
