Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

We are going to the Swan late November/early December this year. I'm so excited! We've stayed twice off-property in a house and once at AoA, & this will be the first time at the Swan. My son is 2, so I just assumed that they wouldn't "count" him, like at the parks, but do I need to be worried about that? Are they going to notice or care? I just realized they ask how many children 0-17 when you go to make a new reservation. (We already have a reservation).

ETA: I also have 2 daughters, so with my little guy, we are a family of 5, that's why I'm worried.

I am not an expert but I think this is correct. Maximum occupancy at the Swan is 4 people per room. The problem with adding a fifth (other than breaking the rules and possibly getting kicked out) is that you will not be able to make FP+ reservations 60 days out for the 2 year old since he will not be on the room reservation. That would mean waiting until 30 days out to pick FP+.

You could switch to the Dolphin which has a maximum occupancy of 5 per room, but you have to give up the queen beds for doubles.

A two year old doesn't need a ticket or a fastpass.

Is there a charge to have a package delivered to your room? Could I have snack items shipped there, like from Amazon?

Right, Disney parks & resorts treat all under 3 as free, they don't need tickets, don't need FP+, they can share food at buffets, so that's why I didn't even think about it until I noticed that the Swan said 0-17 on the site. So... It's frustrating that it's different than the Disney-owned properties. I just wonder if I need to worry about it in real life.

I have magic bands from a previous trip. Will the tickets I added to my disneyworld.com account automatically show up on those bands? We're at the Swan for that trip. What's the process?

I don't know. Why don't you call the reservations number at the Swan?

I had to add the tickets to my MDE account after I received them. You would think that they would be on that MDE account immediately since that is where I purchased them, but it didn't work that way 2 years ago...

What you state is true. BUT WDW resorts still require the age of all guests for room occupancy. There is no charge, but they do insure they have space for the child in the room you are assigned. PP is correct. You should call. The website does appear to handle it differently between Swan and Dolphin.

I ordered our tickets over the phone, but direct from WDW. I had to enter my confirmation number in MDE. I was able to book FPs at 60 days. Once they were linked to my account and assigned to a person, the old magic bands from 2014 worked fine for our March stay at the Dolphin. We also stopped by Guest Relations at the park and supplied our MDE account info and confirmation number. They gave DH a plastic ticket since he did not have a Magic Band.

Nothing shows up or is loaded on your Magic Bands. As long as the Tickets are linked to your My Disney Experience account, any Magic Bands that are active on your My Disney Experience account will be able to access those tickets.

For Disney-owned resorts, you're right, they do want you to list each child, but if they are under 3, then they don't count them at all. My family could stay in a room withax occupancy of 4 - I just double-checked on MDE, and it let me do that at Pop. But I probably should call The Swan. I'm just scared they're going to tell me no, and we'd really rather have the Queen beds at the Swan! :'-(

Thank you all! That helps very much.

What if you have more than one magic band on your account per person?

We check in this weekend at the dolphin. Got an email from them saying check-in is at 3pm and they do not expect to have rooms ready before then.
Wondering if this is a generic email they always send?
If it is true, we were planning on arriving around noon. It's a Saturday so we weren't going to do the parks just then, thought we'd let the kids swim for a while, etc...
So my question is, is there a pool house or a place where we could change into our swimming suits if our room isn't ready?
TIA.

Yes, you can utilize the fitness center to change. There are also lockers inside the restroom/shower area of the center to store your clothing.

And yes, this is a standard notice. Enjoy your trip.

We'll be staying at either the Swan or the Dolphin in may (Visit Orlando is arranging the trip for us; haven't got the final details yet) We'll probably be getting in early, before the 3PM check-in. Will they hold our bags until then? We'll probably be on a tight schedule during the trip, and I assume we'll probably want to get into The Magic Kingdom (and onto Splash Mountain) pretty quickly that day.
