I wonder why Disney hasn't built a Walt Disney World museum. It could contain all sorts of things, like memorabilia from past exhibits, rides, restaurants, etc. Just a thought, but I think it would be very popular.

One Man's Dream at MGM has some of the things, admittedly, a small collection, but his original office furniture in there, plus some interesting facts portrayed in the film. I do wonder where a lot of stuff is. Perhaps his daughters control the use of it. I'd like to know who controls those personal effects, Disney corporation or the surviving Disney family members.

There is this site

I think One Man's Dream, and the previous occasions when similar exhibits have been presented (there was one on Main Street USA not too long ago) point out why there isn't much focus place on this: Guests really didn't express enough interest. Whenever we walked through One Man's Dream, it was practically empty.

Disney re-uses as much as it can - everything gets warehoused until it finds a new home. Remember American Sings? That's in Splash Mountain now.

There is an archives at the Disney Studios in Burbank. Maybe Dave Smith is working on a museum to house all of that stuff - he's gonna run out of room someday.

They are building a Walt Disney museum at the Presideo in San Francisco. I am sure there will be a lot of stuff there.
