Walt Disney World Moms Panel Search Begins on September 13, 2010

Whew! Finally got mine submitted!

I had it almost done, then accidentally googled a word to check the spelling...I meant to open a new window, but forgot to. So when I went back to the application, of course it was blank.:scared1:

I ran to my computer programmer-dh, and said "GET IT BACK!" Of course he said, "sorry...it's gone."

So I had to start over. This time I at least typed it up, checked it, then re-typed it on the application. At least I had a back-up if I did something dumb again!

The questions were really different.
Good luck all!

I'm in, just for the fun of it. I doubt that I'll go past the first round (do they really read all those applications????) but figured it couldn't hurt to send the app in. I didn't spend much time, just typed in what came immediately to mind and hit submit!

Good luck to all the Dis'ers who apply.

Shoot! I took the first question too literally. It asked when your last family trip to WDW was. My last *family* trip was Jan 2009. However, I was there solo in Dec. 2009. I guess I should've answered Dec 2009 because now they'll considered me to not have been there w/in the last 12 months. Grr.

Oh, well...I never make it past stage 2 anyway...

This is just a guess but not all may be lost. You are automatically signed in via your profile. If you booked directly with disneyworld.com or CRO they have a record of the last time you were on property.

I know in my answer I stated when I was there last but did not bother mentioning that my next trip is in a couple of weeks. according to my profile my next reservation is already on file. like i stated above i have no solid evidence to support this it was just something i was thinking about.

Got my app in too. I had only 20 mins to write & proof it. I did the best I could but was afraid if I waited until tonite they would no longer be accepting applications.

OK, I'm getting a little obsessed with this, but anyone know about how many people get picked for the 2nd round and how many they choose for the final pick? What does the 2nd round involve?

From the Walt Disney World Moms Panel website:

Applications will be taken from 9:00 am Eastern Daylight Time on September 13, 2010 through 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Time September 17, 2010 or when we have reached 20,000 applicants, whichever comes first.

 How long do you suppose it takes to get 20,000 applicants? How many DISers do you think will apply? I know there have been a few DISers on the Moms Panel in the past. Hopefully, more will make it through again. :thumbsup2

From the Walt Disney World Moms Panel application ... "Applicants will be notified via email if they qualify the week of November 8, 2010."

Are these the three questions you are talking about?
A) When was your last vacation to Walt Disney World® with your family?
B) Do you work in an industry that is in competition, would benefit from being associated with the Walt Disney World® Moms Panel or be in conflict with Disney’s family friendly brand? If yes, please explain.
C) True or False - World Showcase is a collection of pavilions representing 14 countries that border the 5 miles surrounding World Showcase Lagoon.

If it is like past years, those going on to the next round will be notified via email in October. They will be asked to complete a questionnaire. This is to test your Disney knowledge. Then, the next round after that involves a phone interview. Finally for those chosen, you will get a "Congratulations" call and email in November. Then, you are on your way for an all expenses paid trip to Walt Disney World for the Moms Panel training in December.

Sending lots of pixie dust your way ... :tinker:

:goodvibes Jennifer

I actually applied. But I think I may be disqualified :) I just reread the requirements, and it has been longer than 12 months since the last trip, and didn't mention that we'll be there right before the training dates, and could just stay a couple extra days. :(

Man, I'm missing PCC2.0 because of this trip, and now because I had to wait to save up some points and didn't squeeze in another trip since 6/09, I'll miss out on this as well :(

So it looks like there will be a "Missing PCC2.0/Moms Panel" Pity Party Epcot Crawl in early December...

I submitted yesterday...I'll be surprised if I get to second round but like to part of the club. I keep hoping I'll have a trip to WDW when they've planned a special event. Anyhoo, good luck everyone!

I applied yesterday as well. Probably won't be selected again, just can't imagine what kind of answers they are looking for. Past years I really put a lot of thought into my answers, this time I just typed what came into my mind and hit submit - didn't even use up all of my words - LOL!! :upsidedow

:thumbsup2 Sometimes that is the best strategy. Your answers are honest and true to what you believe and not something you had to think and rethink and reword. From the heart ... :wizard: Like I tell my kids when they do tests at school, always go with your first answer and don't second guess yourself. :teacher:

I applied yesterday too. Phew....Now the wait and see part:rolleyes1:

Just got my application in! Hope one of us makes it!

I had the same "14 countries and 5 miles around World Showcase" question you all did. I found it interesting, especially in light of the fact that at least one of the current panelists has been giving out erroneous information. Don't know if any of you saw the thread about it, but someone asked about purchasing parkhoppers, and one of the mom's panel people told her instead of spending $52 to add parkhopping, it would be cheaper to add extra days on to their MYW ticket and use those extra days to parkhop. Obviously, that panelist was not a disboard'er, lol.

Good luck to all of us! :wizard:

Wow, someone really suggested that? That's pretty major misinformation to give to someone, especially compared to "there are 15 countried represented in the World Showcase".

I'm surprised that WDW doesn't have some sort of system in place to monitor what the MMC tells people. Yes, the panelists aren't paid members but since they are representing WDW I'd think that if a guests goes along with something that has been told to them by the MMC, especially if it is incorrect, that it could be a guest relations nightmare.

I would have thought they'd have some sort of channel for verifying information before giving it out. Then I realized, who would they ask? The same people you call on the phone, who give out the same wrong information?

Sent my application in yesterday. Just realized that I didn't really spellcheck it. Ooops. Hope my fingers were in the right mood yesterday!

I hope there'll be a thread with those who hear some news!

I applied last year and got a fridge magnet for Mickey Moms Club, but that's it. Hoping for better luck this year.

Good luck to all,

Deb:cheer2:
