Walt Disney World Moms Panel Search Begins on September 13, 2010

On a whim, I applied too.

Now I'm thinking I might have goofed when I typed the date of my last visit. I was there for marathon weekend in January but I think I might have typed January 2009 instead of January 2010 because I always forget the marathon is in the new year because all of the training gets done in the prior year.

Oh well, it was a crazy long shot anyway, so I'm not too disappointed. I just wish that I knew what I typed!

I also didn't get a confirmation email although I did see a splash screen that indicated that my entry was successful.

Wow, someone really suggested that? That's pretty major misinformation to give to someone, especially compared to "there are 15 countried represented in the World Showcase".

I know, right? It was up there on the web site for all to see.

I'm surprised that WDW doesn't have some sort of system in place to monitor what the MMC tells people. Yes, the panelists aren't paid members but since they are representing WDW I'd think that if a guests goes along with something that has been told to them by the MMC, especially if it is incorrect, that it could be a guest relations nightmare.

Especially since it was displayed on the official DISNEY web site!

I would have thought they'd have some sort of channel for verifying information before giving it out. Then I realized, who would they ask? The same people you call on the phone, who give out the same wrong information?

Ha ha, good one! Perhaps they did run this by the CM verification panel before posting it. Sigh. At least we have the disboards for accurate information.

Can't wait to hear if any of us make it past round 1!

Just sent mine in. 98 words for each answer without planning it out at all. I "winged" it last year and got through to the 2nd round, so thought it best to do the same again.

After the first round closes, maybe we can compare answers.

i am thinking about it also.........it is not all women.

I did mine... I wish they would change the name though... For a company so freaking aware of things like that, you'd think the inclusion of the first dad, would have made it a PARENT'S panel or such.

Does anyone know any of the DETAILS of the trip? Where do they put you up, what's involved in training (I assume fact checking will be covered this year)?

Got mine in, so they aren't up to 20,000 yet. And did get the confirmation email.:thumbsup2

Got mine in about 10 minutes after the opened up the applications. This will be my first year actually applying. I keep forgetting in past years and by the time I think about it they have already closed the application.

For those of you wondering about the details of the trip, there is a DISer who is a mom panel member and she wrote a complete trip report about the training trip. It included lots of pictures of what they did, where they went and all the swag. Sorry I can't remember her name but you can search for it I assume.

Good luck to all!!!:wizard:

just sent mine in- 9am CST, so still not up to 20k yet. this is my third time, never made it to the next round, but hey, can't hurt to keep trying, right? IF for some magical reason, i got it, i'd have to give up the last two days of my planned vacation, but that's ok! lol :confused3:rotfl:

I tried again this year, mostly out of habit. Every other year I have given a ton of thought and effort to my replies, but this year I just answered like I would if anyone else asked me those questions. You never get anywhere if you don't try right?;)

I entered mine right after they opened it up. I would so love to be a part of the moms panel but I am worried my answers were too basic and not as well thought out. I just answered like I would if anyone were standing in front of me were asking. So you think they were looking for somebody with more of a writer style for these questions?

If it is like past years, the finalists will stay at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. There are conference room meetings as well as park tours, taped interviews and a photo session. The pictures and videos will be posted on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel website. From what I have read, they keep you pretty busy during the training. :wizard:

:goodvibes Jennifer

I also applied right after application process opened. Good luck to everyone!
I love reading your stories... The application process for round one has officially ended!:thumbsup2

FYI - I just checked the Walt Disney World Moms Panel website ...

No more entries. The Program is officially CLOSED.

Now, the waiting can really start ... :rolleyes1 Please let us know if you make it to the next round. So, I can live vicariously through you. :rotfl:

Sending lots and lots of pixie dust your way! :wizard:

Hi All,

I'm new around here but have applied to Mom's Panel. Good luck to all of you who have applied too! I saw the question about where you stay for the training trip. Year before last they did stay at Coronado Springs, but last year they stayed at the Contemporary. Kaylene, 5fromabove on the Dis and a 2010 Mom's Panel member posted her trip report on the Mom's panel thread on the Community Board. I would include the link, but I need to post some more! :goodvibes
The report of everything they did is incredible!

That's correct, I also read that, and looked at the wonderful photo's!

Next week, those advancing to the next round will receive an email confirmation from Disney.

Good Luck! :wizard:

I just got my "Thank you for applying, but you're not among those selected" e-mail. I'm hoping a DISer has made it to the next round. Have any of you heard anything?
