Enjoy a tankard of ale in an authentic looking English pub and stroll the streets of the United Kingdom. Fish & Chips anyone? The shops and restaurants here convey a whimsical feel of the UK. While wandering by in the afternoon, you may hear the sounds of the... could it be... FAB FOUR?
The Rose and Crown pub features authentic English fare and one of the prettiest views of the World Showcase lagoon. This spot is touted by Epcot regulars as one of the best to watch Illuminations!
This is the United Kingdom Pavilion, part of the World Showcase within the Epcot theme park.
Introduction
The history of the United Kingdom is depicted through the architectural styles ranging from 1500 to 1800. The buildings represented are Victorian, London, Yorkshire Manor, Tudor, Georgian, Hyde Park, Regency and even a Shakespearean cottage design. It has British gardens (including a hedge maze). The shops sell British items, such as tea, toys, clothing and Beatles merchandise . There is also a Beatles tribute band called "The British Invasion" that performs regularly in the Pavilion. The Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room serves traditional British food, as well as beer and ale. There is also a restaurant serving Fish and Chips. There is a sport shop selling British sport equipment, including Newcastle United shirts.

Touring Tips
-Be sure to take some time and walk through the beautiful Butterfly and Knot Herb garden located in the spectacular United Kingdom pavilion behind the Tea Caddy shop. The plants located in the garden were specifically chosen as they attract butterflies. It also contains a chrysalis box, where butterfly cocoons are sheltered until they are ready to take flight. Also be sure to check out the hedge maze located nearby!
-The United Kingdom 's Rose and Crown Pub & Dining Room is located on the lagoon side of the World Showcase promenade, across from the Toy Soldier and The Tea Caddy shops.
-The traditional hedge maze is fun to walk through.
-Check out the hand-painted smoke stains on the chimneys.
-Chat with the Cast Members in the shops, they are among the friendliest in World Showcase.
-Try the Milky Bar (white chocolate), at the Tea Caddy, or the chocolate assortment box called Quality Street for a taste of genuine English sweets.
-The United Kingdom is a great place to meet characters. You can sometimes find Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore as well as Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, and Alice in Wonderland.

Thirsty?? Sit at the pub and enjoy yards of Bass Ale, Guinness Stout, Harp Lager or Caffrey's Irish Ale.
The Rose and Crown contains a varied history of pub styles, combining elements from three basic pub designs: the street pub, the waterfront pub, and the country pub. The exterior design was modeled after the Elizabethan period of the late 16th century. The interior decor was pattered after Victorian architectural forms of the 1890s.

Interesting Facts
-Opening date: October 1, 1982 (with EPCOT on opening day)
-Pringle of Scotland, which at one time was the name of a store in the United Kingdom pavilion, is now known as the Sportsman Shoppe. The original store sold merchandise created by some of Scotland 's most famous designers. Since becoming the Sportsmen's Shoppe, it now focuses more on sporting goods from England 's most famous events, such as Wimbledon tennis gear, golf clothing and equipment, as well as rugby and football shirts.
-The Rose and Crown bears the Latin motto 'Otium Cum Dignitate' ('Leisure with dignity')
-The thatched roofs in the United Kingdom pavilion are actually made out of plastic broom bristles because real thatch would be a fire hazard.
-"The Rose and Crown Dining Room and Pub" in the United kingdom pavilion in World Showcase has a specially designed ale warmer that can heat your Guinness to 13°C (55°F), the temperature favored by many fans of the dark ale.
-The crests of the United Kingdom's four major schools (Oxford, Cambridge, Eton, and Edinburgh) can be seen in the upstairs window of The Queen's Table.
-Changes in garden style enhance the changes in architecture throughout the United Kingdom. Landscaping styles include rural England, an open square park reminiscent of Hyde Park, and a maze fashioned after the Somerleyton Hall Maze built in 1846 in England.
-If you look up in some of the shops you'll get an extra treat. In the Crown & Crest shop, for instance, you'll note several suits of armor, as well as shields, swords and a huge wrought-iron chandelier. Some of the other shops have an upstairs with little historical vignettes set up that you can visit -- Just look for the staircase or ask a Cast Member!
-The Tea Caddy structure is representative of the 1500's architecture style - Anne Hathaway cottage near the perennial and herb garden.
-The Cantalier Buildings, next to the Toy Soldier, represent the 1600s. If you look at the second story of the building, you will see how it comes out over the street level. In the 1600s, taxes were based on ground floor space. Creative folks built structures with larger second floors that would not be taxed.
-Mini Hyde Park - the 1700s buildings were more plaster and wood. In the 1800s the buildings became stone in the Georgian Style.
-There are 2 replicas of Castles: King Henry's Court and Sir Walter Scott.
-The bright red phone booths are identical to those found in the United Kingdom.
-Look for this “Hidden Mickey”: Outside the Sportsman's Shoppe, a sign has a classic Mickey with a tennis racket head, a soccer ball for one ear and a rugby ball for the other (and a tennis ball for his nose?).
