Just how much "behind-the-scenes" magic is revealed on this tour? The description is vague. I've done the Keys to the Kingdom tour twice (pre- & post-9/11) and enjoyed them. I have a trip in October with my sister to celebrate our milestone birthdays. She has never done a tour at Disney and likes to keep the "magic". I've done several tours and always find them fascinating (especially the "so that's how it is done" moments).

Would the Marceline tour be a good one for someone that doesn't want the magic spoiled?

I haven't done it yet, but I know that one of its main draws is a behind the scenes look at The Haunted Mansion.

We did it a couple of years ago. There isn't too much behind the scenes, just alot of history, but you do get to go backstage at one point (near fantasyland) and you get to go behind the scenes of the Haunted Mansion, which was the whole reason I did it. It was a GREAT tour! Highly recommend it!

We are HM fans big time! Just the HM portion would have been worth the price of admission. We love Disney/Walt Disney history and we enjoyed the tour from that aspect, also a private showing of CoP with the guide pointing out details was fantastic.:earsboy:

You will be underneath Haunted Mansion while the attraction is running and they will discuss how the effects are done, so... if they don't want to know or see something like that, it may be too much.

Thanks for the feedback! Aside from the Haunted Mansion, are there any other behind the scenes "magic" revealed?

That is the only backstage portion. The tour focuses on Walt and not the rides per se, but a lot of info about the rides is given out. I think most of it was history type stuff or details, like why the green canopy is at the HM. The guide does shine a light on Carousel of Progress when it’s dark to show you something but I don’t really consider that behind the scenes.

So why is the canopy green?:)

Oh, it’s not the color that’s important- just the presence of a canopy at all. Houses of that type in that time period often had a canopy (granted, not normally as long as this one) to protect people from the weather...which of course is also why it was actually put up. The guide spouted off more details than that but that is what I’ve retained.

I loved the Marceline Tour!. I gave this to my sister as a B-day gift a few years ago. I think as you sister's 1st tour, this one may give her the "tour bug" too.
