My 3rd grade daughter has chosen to do her "Wax Museum" project on Walt Disney. This involves writing a biography and timeline and dressing up like Walt to give a short presentation as other students and parents tour the "Wax Museum". We have two weeks. And I say "we" because you know who ends up helping research, getting books from the library and figuring out a costume and props.... and it's not the teacher!

Anyway, just wondering if any of you experts out there have a favorite story or source for Walt info that you could share.
And I'm open to costume ideas. My daughter is going to bring Dumbo and a couple movie cases (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.) as props. Strangely enough, we don't have a stuffed Mickey Mouse, though I think there's a Santa Mickey packed away in the Christmas stuff in the attic.

Thanks in advance.

They have that book at Target right now in the kids book section, I saw it yesterday :)

My daughter did Walt Disney last year for their 5th-grade living history museum. She used her brother's suit for her costume and we bought her a hat that looked like a 50s-era one. She pulled her hair back in a ponytail (or maybe a bun?) and we got a package of dollar-store mustaches and trimmed one a little thinner.

We got a simple biography from the library from the library and fleshed the report out with info from the Internet as needed.

My third grader really enjoyed the Who is Walt Disney book linked above and I think it would be a great resource for your DDs project.

As a side note, there is a whole series of these 'who is...' books and my DD really likes them.
