Walmart Savings Center

I enter all of my receipts and never get anything back which makes me wonder how well the savings catcher really works. I always assume Walmart is cheaper so I buy there and then find the item discounted at a diff store.

It all depends what the other stores are discounting and then putting in the print ads.

There are so many items that I know are not cheaper at Walmart. But that is only because I am in so many discount stores within a few weeks of each other. Going to the other stores doesn't save my time so it needs to be a very good discount. I won't go over to Kroger just to save 2 cents on a single can of corn if there aren't any other items on my list on sale from them. The 6 miles in gas and my time is worth something.

And the other reason the savings is not adding up--store brands. I have noticed that most stores are advertising their own brands on sale much more than the national big brands. When in Walmart, I usually purchase GV brand. Then the paper ad will show Food Lion's brand is cheaper that week.

I haven't changed my shopping habits because of the new catcher. I am sure the inventors are hoping everyone just flocks to Walmart for all their needs. Those of us who are watching our budgets and the ads know we need to stay alert.

I hope you begin to receive some money back. :)

Along these same lines, since this program started I have noticed that I feel an urge to buy the name brand instead of the store brand at Walmart, with the thought that the name brand might be on sale somewhere that week.

Clever Walmart.

I'm bumming they figured out that associates get a discount and are now taking that into account!

I knew they'd figure it out sooner or later ...

I downloaded the app and scanned the receipt when I got home from Walmart. It soon after said my receipt wasn't eligible but I don't know why. I searched on the app FAQ and it only has an "invalid" description not, "not eligible" and mine doesn't even fit any of those. I also can't find anyway to contact them through the app. I went on the website and it won't let me submit a question on my receipt because it says I didn't submit a receipt? Did this happen to anyone? Does anyone know why a receipt would not be eligible?

I've heard other people had a hard time with scanning receipts. Try the website.

I've had four or five receipts in a row with no savings:(

I've redeemed to BBcard twice. You get an email right after the transfer is complete and you can see it on your BlueBird account. Much faster than my bank.

The card will come printed with your name on it also. Looks just like regular debit/credit card.

I was with you about not wanting to print the eCard for the store.

And yes, just as PP stated, it's continuously doubling through a date in February.

Thanks for the feedback! I looked more into the Bluebird card & I'm not sure I'm really willing to give out my SSN & consent to American Express to share my information for a few more dollars on a gift card. So, I guess I'll deal with the eCard. I've only gotten a little over $6 back in the past couple of months of entering receipts. I might feel differently if this would be a big money maker, or if they would always double, but since it's just to February...I'll just consider whatever I get back a coupon I didn't have to search for or remember to use! :)

I can understand the apprehension. Amex already has my ssn (have two amexes) so I didn't care, but I don't blame you.

Thanks! I'll try. Good luck I hope you have savings soon!

I did. I got $1.01 back on each 6 pack of 16.9 oz diet Pepsi. Walmart had them for $3 and Kroger has them on sale for $1.99. When I double the award I'm paying $0.98 / six pack. I went back and got more today:)

One week Publix is compared (12 miles aways) and then others it's not. Ok, that's fine--it's in another state and city.

They do that with our Publix, too, which is right down the road and NOT in another state or city. It's really irritating. Another PP said they get all their Publix BOGOs at Walmart now and if I did that, I'd be screwed every other week or so. So I keep buying two of a Publix BOGO item there just to test. Last week Lender's bagels were not matched. This week Mueller's pasta was. I give up. :confused3

anyone start a thread of stuff they are looking to compare?
Talk to family member and niece has strawberry shortcake rockband dolls and Mc Stuffins Dr. bag on her list.

Not sure if I'm looking on Wal-marts right AD or if its just general walmart list
Strawberry rockband sweetbeats playset is $24.99 and its $19.99 at toys r us. I'm wondering if I will get the difference?

I did this for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised that I got back $4.40. I'm sure I won't be so lucky next time lol.

Has anyone used their bluebird Walmart Bucks to purchase a Walmart gift card?

I'm not trying to game the system but there is a family in our community that lost their house and all belongings in a fire and the PTA is collecting Walmart gift cards to help them get back on their
feet. I don't have a lot of extra cash this week but I do have over $70 in Walmart Bucks in my bluebird account. I was going to use them to buy some groceries in Orlando before we get on the Fantasy in November but I could easily sacrifice them to help this family if it would be possible. So, anyone know if this is do-able?

I am not sure if they have price matched any non-grocery, household items through Savings Catcher. Seems to me it's not listed in the FAQ's. Just as they don't compare the Walmart internet price to local store.

Been bummed. For 2 weeks' worth of receipts (7) we have not received anything back. Of course, I also have been watching the budget even closer so no impulse or junk food buys. Found cans of corn on the bottom shelf for .49 cents. Haven't opened them to check the quality, but since I put them in soups...should be fine.

I've had a really good week with Savings Catcher. I got $9 on a $55 receipt. When I redeem it with Bluebird that's about 33% off. With the double rewards I got 6 packs of 16.9 oz diet pepsi for $1, fritos for $1, goldfish for $0.50, Lunchables with a drink for $1.25, lunchables without a drink for $0.42, bag of Halloween candy (before Halloween) for $1.25. I have another receipt waiting but I'm expecting to get Lean Cuisines for $1.12 and Kraft shredded 8 oz. cheese for $1. Trying to maximize the double rewards for the next four months.

There are more things on my receipt that they don't even try to price match than things they do. I just don't get it.

I had 5 receipts in a row with no lower prices. I buy great value cheese, 16 packs of ritz pb crackers, and other stuff that's specific to Walmart.

Kroger and martin's (giant) have had a lot on sale that I typically buy and I've done really well. Next week it will probably not match anything.
