Walmart Savings Center

I tried to price match the other night at Walmart and the cashier told me it was all done through the savings catcher now. Unfortunately the item we bought was on sale cheaper at another store, but it didn't come back on the savings catcher. This isn't the first time I have known something was cheaper and they didn't find it cheaper. :( It is also unfortunate that I bet they will do away with price matching now. I haven't done it too much because it all depends on which cashier you get how easy it is to do. I hate that things change so much from one employee to another.

According to a few cashiers at our store (and DS's in Florida), they will be getting rid of the cashier price over ride aka price matching. You can submit the missed item through the website. Look in the FAQ's and you'll see how to do it.

The things I am receiving the most money back on are usually impulse buys--gum, candy, little smokies sausages. When I go chasing the ads, it turns out to be different brand/size or something of the like. I'm still doing part shopping at Kroger, part at Aldi and then Walmart.

The one thing that I thought of last night, I don't like using shopper cards. Walmart used to advertise no card needed. But now they can track my purchases--maybe the future will hold more special savings for us.

Yay! Have $58 on my Blur Bird card! 2 questions:
1. How can I find what stores they are comparing too? I've gotten several dollars from Target being cheaper but our closest Target is 30ish miles away.
2. Will they do this for Black Friday deals?

For some reason I don't think they compare to target. I've seen Kroger, food lion, walgreens, and martins (giant) so far.

I would say that most Black Friday deals are NOT going to be part of the Saving Catcher because most items sold as Black Friday sales do not fit into the categories that Walmart uses for this app. Here's what things do/do not apply to the Savings Catcher - (from the FAQ)
Savings Catcher applies to many items sold at Walmart stores. This includes:
Most groceries such as cereal, rice and most fruits and vegetables except for: store brand items, deli, bakery and weighed items like meats.
Consumable items such as paper towels, bleach and trash bags.
Health and beauty items such as shampoo and makeup.
Select general merchandise items.

Savings Catcher does not currently apply to:
Store brands, deli, bakery and weighed items like meat.
General merchandise items, (including, but not limited to, electronics, media and gaming, toys, sporting goods, housewares, small appliances, home décor, bedding, books and magazines, apparel and shoes, jewelry, furniture and seasonal products).
Non-branded items.
Tobacco, firearms, gasoline, tires, prescription drugs, optical and photo products and services, or products that require a service agreement such as wireless, automotive or financial products.

Does anyone who has signed up for the Bluebird card know if they double just the first time you cash out for it...or do you get double rewards every time as long as you cash out through bluebird? I like the idea of having a physical card rather than dealing with an e-card, but not sure whether or not I should wait until I have more saved up before I look further into Bluebird.

Thanks!

It will be doubled through February.

I did have a compare to Target, but nothing came back. I've also had compare to Dollar Tree. Go figure, DT had an ad for French's mustard--save .15. Couldn't believe it was same size.

I've redeemed to BBcard twice. You get an email right after the transfer is complete and you can see it on your BlueBird account. Much faster than my bank.

The card will come printed with your name on it also. Looks just like regular debit/credit card.

I was with you about not wanting to print the eCard for the store.

And yes, just as PP stated, it's continuously doubling through a date in February.

I hope not. The app only" compares prices to top stores all over your area. ". In the Chicago suburbs we have a lot of stores with one or two locations. I doubt that the app will consider these "top stores".

It will also be a disadvantage for people without smart phones (elderly or the poor for example) or people that don't want big brother to have a record of what they are purchasing.

Has anyone been able to get the app to recognize meat, deli or produce items?

You don't need a smart phone for this. I don't use the app. Yes on produce.

I wasn't aware that you could enter the receipt number online. I wonder if they will add a feature to do it by phone or set up a computer kiosk in the store for people that don't have internet access.

How do you redeem your e-gift card?

Good to know it works on produce. I hope it will work on meat and deli too and that they will include all stores in the area not just the major chains.

I didn't do the a-gift card. I opened a bluebird account to double my savings through February.

The FAQ on Walmart's site says that the app doesn't match on deli, produce or meat items that are weighed. So if you buy loose apples by the pound, it won't compare those, but it will compare apples sold in a prepackaged 3lb bag. Likewise, prepackaged Oscar Meyer Bologna will be compared, but bologna that the deli clerk slices won't eb matched.

I wish there was a rhyme or reason to the stores it compares to. Somedays, we are compared to 3 stores and other times, there have been 10 stores listed. Like I said earlier, I had one for Dollar Tree. I doubt that is considered a "top store" in most communities. One week Publix is compared (12 miles aways) and then others it's not. Ok, that's fine--it's in another state and city. Then we had the one that was compared to a store 50 miles away--no savings, but it was interesting none the less.

Our weekly free paper was delivered today. It is the only paper ads we receive around here. I usually look up the other stores in area online, but I don't have the patience to search through them all. Today's ads include Food Lion, Kroger and Aldi. Walmart hasn't compared to Aldi or SaveALot, but I keep hoping. Until it does, I will keep taking my 25cents (cart fee) over and grabbing the loss leaders.

Grapes have been price matched for me.

I find that one week it will price match a store and the next week it will completely ignore the sale item prices at the same store. I bought Keebler cookies at WM that were .50 cheaper at Food Lion and they did not match it. So if you are going to buy a lot of sale items at another store, I would not risk it. However, I will still enter in the receipts for the transactions for the one or two items that are cheaper. It adds up. Just my two cents .

Another $3.42 back = $6.84 to the BlueBird card. I am now 8 cents short of my goal (plus tax). With 3 receipts pending...maybe this week. :confused3 I know it's kind of a silly goal--use only WM bucks for this Christmas gift, but if I didn't have it, I would have used them up on the milk yesterday.

Time to start looking for another "that's the item" goal. :cheer2:

Ok, so every small amount helps; right? I got a penny back!! Yep..you read it correctly, I am receiving a rebate of one cent.

Bought a bag of Halloween candy and it was cheaper at Rite Aid.

I started entering receipts in early August and over the last 2 months, I got just shy of $35 back. Signed up for the Bluebird card and my total is now at $69. How awesome. By the time Christmas rolls around, this will pay for a couple Christmas presents or so. I really love this Walmart app.
