Walmart & Publix Coupon Policy Change (Florida)

I never knew a store to accept that many coupons for one item. I shop safeway and save a bundle. They have there coupons and other savings on the their card and you can use a coupon for the item on top. But I am not an extreme couponer. I can't believe this issue is still going on. Especially when some people were going to jail.

One of my DH relatives in Texas was just on Facebook today discussing his trip to the flea market where people were selling tons of items they got from extreme coupons like shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. He said they were very open about how they got all the items for sale.

I do know of a older Florida couple who did the extreme coupon thing but they only kept what they needed and the rest they donated to a local food banks. That was nice of them. They did it to be kind, not out of greed for re-sell.

Publix has always been so inconsistent about coupons. Every cashier made up their own rules. I stopped shopping there very much a long time ago as a result. Maybe this will bring some uniformity to the policies which would be nice.

That Wal-Mart Savings Catcher sounds intriguing though. Has anyone on here tried it? Is there a downside or catch to it? Does it only work with Publix receipts? That wouldn't help me much if I don't shop there I guess.

The way I read the article you have to download/sign up for the app. Then shop at Walmart. Then after your purchases you enter your Walmart receipt number into the app. The app does a price comparison to other local stores (not sure how many miles they app will compare to). If the prices are lower (according to the app) at other local stores they credit your account on the app, which then turns into a gift card.

Basically, they are encouraging you to shop at Walmart enticing you with gift cards. You will not know if you will get credits until after your purchase.

Oh, that makes more sense lol. Since I don't grocery shop at WalMart, I guess I won't be trying this. It could be good for people who do shop there anyways though.

ive stuck to publix for bogo because it was always a pain. We've got 3 walmarts with a couple miles but they don't have a lot of what we eat.

I know my sis will be unhappy she had the bogo thing down, used to have to tell cashiers what was going on!
