WalMart pickup in store order cancelled

DH had to work today so no Black Friday shopping for me... so instead I made purchase online. I was excited to get a RC air hogs thunder trax for DS, pick up in store. This evening I got a call from the store. They dont have & are cancelling my order. Well of course the Black Friday price was a savings of ~$50. I fussed & fussed & finally asked for a manager. 10 min later lady returns to the phone, manager refuses to talk to me, lady says manager advised not to cancel, just let it sit in the system & itll 'take care of itself' ... to me this means he system will cancel itself if they can't fulfill the order. I'm irate. What can I do? At least they should give me a raincheck to get the item later at the lower price? Anyone have ideas or suggestions? I bought & paid for the item this morning. I feel like the clock is ticking now & I need to figure out what to do...
 
Take yourself up there tomorrow and demand to speak to a manager. Keep paper copies of your confirmation and all other communications. Call their toll free customer service line and raise a stink.
Black Friday isn't the day to do it, but start tomorrow. Good luck.
 
I remember once I tried to return a pair of shoes and customer service was really rude and gave me a hard time. They had an 800 number on the wall and I called it and told them about the whole thing and they made it right. I think that might've been their corporate number. I would either call their corporate number or email corporate.
 
In store pick-up is subject to in-store availability (vs ship to store which is different). If this was a black Friday special then I would not expect to get it, if it is sold out. Most if not all black Friday specials are subject to in store availability. Sorry that this happened but it is not different then if you were in the store.
 

I don't believe for one second that the manager refused to speak to you. I'd call back and talk to someone else. I hope they can get it taken care for you.

Yep, this. There's a little graph that tells you your options. You could try to reorder and choose ship to store and see if you can still get it. If you can't it's sure to go on sale before the holiday. I've got my best deal before and after Black Friday most of the time.
 
Is it available online? Call WalMart customer service, the toll free call center, give them the order number of your canceled order, and ask if they'll honor the price with a price adjustment if you order online.

Also, if it is subject to availability when you checkout & pay it shouldn't have the tag line (see attached) which implying that by purchasing you ensure you are getting it...

Here is the problem with in store pick up. You buy something but the last one is in someone else's physical shopping cart in the store but have not checked out yet. There is no way for even the best inventory system to know that there is no more available. What is your solution for this?

I ordered something from Home Depot for in store pick up. About an hour or so after I ordered instead of your order is ready email, I got a phone call from the store saying they do not have the item I ordered. While this was not a holiday gift it was still an item I wanted/needed and could not get. I see no difference in this and your issue. My order was cancelled, as your was. The end.

Is this from later? Because it says, "out of stock." That tag line still doesn't guarantee something that's subject to availability. Inventory is not instantaneous, the system isn't going to be 100% up to the minute. It's Black Friday, nothing is guaranteed. All wording tells you that, "while supplies last, subject to availability, no rain checks."
 
I've had same experience ( bealls). Disappointment but not much they can do if item isn't there when they go to pack it for you.
